Students and lecturers would like to know how well students have learned the study materials being taught. A formal test or exam would cause needless stress for students. To resolve this problem, the authors of this article have developed an Intelligent Pupil Analysis (IPA) System. A sufficient amount of studies worldwide prove an interrelation between pupil size and a person's cognitive load. The obtained research results are comparable with the results from other similar studies. The original contribution of this article, compared to the research results published earlier, is as follows: the IPA System developed by the authors is superior to the traditional pupil analysis research due to the integration of pupil analysis with subsystems of decision support, recommender and intelligent tutoring systems and innovative Models of the Model-base, which permit a more detailed analysis of the knowledge attained by a student. This article ends with a case study to demonstrate the practical operation of the IPA System.  相似文献

The present study characterises garden strawberry leaf extract and reports its effect on shelf life and quality characteristics of fish oil. Radical scavenging capacity of the extract in DPPH? and ABTS?+ assays was equivalent to 1207 and 1579 μmol g?1 of trolox equivalents, respectively, total phenolic content was 257 mg g?1 of gallic acid equivalents. Phenolic and volatile constituents were analysed by liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The extract was added to fish oil and its oxidation was followed during 42 days: peroxide, p‐anisidine values and hexanal concentration were lower in the samples with extract, particularly at the end of storage. The effect of extract on fatty acid composition was not significant, however the changes in the percentages of some individual acids were observed. Fish oil containing 5% of extract had lower levels of lipid oxidation in comparison to other samples. The results indicate that strawberry leaves could be a potential source of natural antioxidants.  相似文献

A series of gas sensing layers based on indium oxide doped with gold were prepared by using the aerosol technology for deposition as the active contact layer in a metal oxide semiconductor capacitive device. The interaction between the measured species and the insulator surface was quantified as the voltage changes at a constant capacitance of the device. The sensor properties were investigated in the presence of H2, CO, NH3, NO, NO2 and C3H6 at temperatures between 100–400 °C. Significant differences in the morphology of the layer and its sensitivity were noted for different preparation methods and different gas environments.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the bioconversion efficiency of rich in cellulose agro‐industrial by‐products such as wheat bran (WB), spent distiller's grain with solids (DGS), brewer's spent grain (BSG) and lupin (Lupinus angustifolius L.) wholemeal fraction (LF) to lactic acid (LA) using acid tolerant lactic acid bacteria (LAB) strains Lactobacillus sakei KTU05‐06, Pediococcus acidilactici KTU05‐7 and P. pentosaceus KTU05‐9. Carbohydrase preparation Depol? 692L was used for the hydrolysis of non‐starch polysaccharides. Analysed raw materials were suitable substrates for LAB propagation and L‐lactic acid production. The lowest pH (3.6) was found in LF medium after 48 h fermentation with P. acidilactici and P. pentosaceus strains. The lowest pH (3.86) was measured in WB fermented with L. sakei, and in DGS and BSG (pH 3.8 and 3.9 respectively) fermented with P. acidilactici. The highest endoxylanase activity was excreted by the P. acidilactici and P. pentosaceus (84 and 69 XU g?1 respectively), and the highest α‐amylase activity was of L. sakei (255.6 AU g?1) after 24 h incubation in WB medium. The L‐lactic acid concentration of 86.11 g kg?1 was reached after the bioconversion of hydrolysed WB in combination with 48 h fermentation by P. pentosaceus KTU05‐9 strain. LA contents between 222 and 282 mg kg?1 was produced from lupin processing residues via fermentation using P. acidilactici and P. pentosaceus KTU05‐9 strains. The major challenge within the presented study is the viability of tested LAB in cereal waste media and effective LA production at a low pH (3.63.8).  相似文献

The aim of this study was to improve the mechanical properties of porous corundum ceramics by adding various types of SiO2 source (SiO2, SiC and Si3N4), but at the same time retaining high porosity (at least 55%). Ceramics were fabricated by slip casting. Pores were formed using aluminium's reaction with water. It was found that the bending strength of the material can be improved and relatively high porosity retained by producing corundum–mullite composites. Addition of 3.7 equivalent wt% of SiO2 source increased the bending strength by up to 250% in comparison with unmodified corundum ceramics. The apparent porosity decreased by up to ca. 8%. If the amount of SiO2 source was increased from 3.7 equivalent wt% to 7.3 equivalent wt%, the bending strength decreased. The best mechanical properties were achieved with samples that were modified with SiC and Si3N4 nanopowders. This is due to better dispersion in Al2O3 matrix.  相似文献

In the present study, gold/surfactant core/shell colloidal nanoparticles with a controlled morphology and chemical composition have been obtained via the so-called sacrificial anode technique, carried out in galvanostatic mode. As synthesized Au-NPs had an average core diameter comprised between 4 and 8 nm, as a function of the electrochemical process experimental conditions. The UV–Vis characterization of gold nanocolloids showed clear spectroscopic size effects, affecting both the position and width of the nanoparticle surface plasmon resonance peak.The nanomaterial surface spectroscopic characterization showed the presence of two chemical states, namely nanostructured Au(0) (its abundance being higher than 90%) and Au(I). Au-NPs were then deposited on the top of a capacitive field effect sensor and subjected to a mild thermal annealing aiming at removing the excess of stabilizing surfactant molecules. Au-NP sensors were tested towards some gases found in automotive gas exhausts. The sensing device showed the largest response towards NOx, and much smaller – if any – responses towards interferent species such as NH3, H2, CO, and hydrocarbons.  相似文献

We discuss parametric quasi‐maximum likelihood estimation for quadratic autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (ARCH) process with long memory introduced in Doukhan emphet al. (2016) and Grublyt? and ?karnulis (2016) with conditional variance involving the square of inhomogeneous linear combination of observable sequence with square summable weights. The aforementioned model extends the quadratic ARCH model of Sentana ( 1995 ) and the linear ARCH model of Robinson ( 1991 ) to the case of strictly positive conditional variance. We prove consistency and asymptotic normality of the corresponding quasi‐maximum likelihood estimates, including the estimate of long memory parameter 0 < d < 1/2. A simulation study of empirical mean‐squared error is included.  相似文献
