The transport of suspended sediment in rivers with spur dikes is an important issue for bank protection and environmental management. Laboratory experiments were performed to study the characteristics of the flow and the transport of suspended sediment in an open channel with permeable dikes. Firstly, the essentials of these characteristics were studied by comparing results of flume experiments on permeable and impermeable dikes. The influence of the aspect ratio (d/l) of the interval between dikes (d) to the length of dikes (l) on these characteristics was then investigated. In these experiments, the properties of horizontal eddies, turbulence structures, and suspended sediment concentrations were studied. The results show that the development of large-scale horizontal eddies requires some distance in a shear layer for permeable dikes, although they are periodically generated from the first dike in the case of impermeable dikes. The basic structures of horizontal eddies are independent of the aspect ratio in the equilibrium region for permeable dikes. The suspended sediment concentrations for cases of permeable dikes gradually decrease between the several upstream dikes and they approach a uniform distribution in the downstream region, although those in the case of the impermeable dikes are relatively uniform in the downstream direction.  相似文献

Cationic surfactants containing a thioether group in the hydrophobic chain were prepared by the reaction of alkanethiol and bromocholine bromide. The aqueous solution properties of the thio-surfactants were investigated and compared with conventional cationic surfactants. The Krafft temperatures of the thio-surfactants were lower than that of alkyltrimethylammonium bromide. The critical micelle concentrations were determined by the conductivity method, and pyrene and SPQ fluorescence probe methods. A linear relation was observed for the plots of cmc vs. chain length. However, the cmc of the thio-surfactants depended on the position of the thioether group in the hydrophobic alkyl chain. It was found that the thioether group exhibited quenching ability toward SPQ fluorescence. The variation of the surfactant monomer concentration in equilibrium with micelles can be estimated from Stern-Volmer plots.  相似文献

Optimal design of a Star-LAN includes a few important and difficult sub-problems. An optimal HUB allocation problem is one of the sub-problems. Neural networks based on the Boltzmann machine are suitable for solving such problems. In this paper, we apply the Boltzmann Machine Neural Networks(BMNN) to optimal HUB allocation problems on a Star-LAN computer networks. The effect of diluents on isotactic polypropylene (iPP) membrane formation via thermally induced phase separation was investigated. The diluents were methyl salicylate (MS), diphenyl ether (DPE), and diphenylmethane (DPM). The cloud-point curve was shifted to a lower temperature in the order iPP–MS, iPP–DPE, and iPP–DPM, whereas the crystallization temperature was not influenced so much by diluent type. Droplet-growth processes were investigated under two conditions: quenching the polymer solution at the desired temperature and cooling at a constant rate. Although droplet sizes were in the order iPP–MS, iPP–DPE, and iPP–DPM in both cases, the difference was more pronounced with the constant cooling rate condition. Scanning electron microscopy indicated that interconnected structures were obtained when the polymer solution was quenched in ice water. Polymer thin films were prepared by an ion-assisted vapor deposition polymerization method that involves physical vapor deposition of monomer combined with low-energy ion irradiation. In a high vacuum environment, zinc diacrylate monomer was evaporated at a rate of 0.8 nm/min on gold-coated glass substrates under simultaneous irradiation by nitrogen ions of 20 nA/cm2 at ion energy ranging from 500 to 2000 eV. The ion irradiation remarkably reduced the surface roughness of the deposited films. Infrared spectroscopy showed that the absorption bands of the vinyl group diminish with increasing ion energy. Formation of polymer molecules was confirmed by gel permeation chromatograph. Moreover, the film became insoluble to organic solvents when the ion energy was increased. These results indicate that polymer thin films can be prepared by vapor deposition of monomers under ion irradiation. The ion-assisted vapor deposition polymerization was also possible on insulating substrates.  相似文献

Water-filled single-wall carbon nanotubes as molecular nanovalves   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
It is known that at low temperature, water inside single-wall carbon nanotubes (water-SWNTs) undergoes a structural transition to form tube-like solid structures. The resulting ice NTs are hollow cylinders with diameters comparable to those of typical gas molecules. Hence, the gas-adsorption properties of ice- and water-SWNTs are of interest. Here, we carry out the first systematic investigation into the stability of water-SWNTs in various gas atmospheres below 0.1 MPa by means of electrical resistance, X-ray diffraction, NMR measurements and molecular dynamics calculations. It is found that the resistivity of water-SWNTs exhibits a significant increase in gas atmospheres below a critical temperature Tc, at which a particular type of atmospheric gas molecule enters the SWNTs in an on-off fashion. On the basis of this phenomenon, it is proposed that water-SWNTs can be used to fabricate a new type of molecular nanovalve.  相似文献

使用特殊的增黏剂与聚羧酸减水剂,制备了掺加石灰石粉、高炉矿渣、硅灰等混合材的普通波特兰水泥浆体和和低热硅酸盐水泥浆体(水粉比为1.0)。这些水泥浆体在20℃的水中养护4年后基本完全水化。这些硬化水泥浆体在5%(质量分数)CO2、相对湿度66%和温度20℃条件下进行碳化,对比研究碳化前后水泥浆体孔结构的变化。结果显示:碳化浆体内孔直径大于10nm的孔体积明显减少;碳化浆体的孔径分布向大孔径范围偏移;掺加混合材的硬化水泥浆体结构明显趋于松散;与不掺加任何混合材的水泥浆体相比,掺加混合材的水泥浆体的孔径更大。  相似文献

Field observations were performed to determine the effects of flood flow on the geometrical and chemical characteristics of flood plain soil and the distribution of riparian vegetation in a gravel river. The results of the observations show a decrease in the amounts of the particulate nutrients in the flood plain soil during fairly large flood, because the fine sands that serve as a nutrient source were removed by the flood flow. Numerical simulations for the transport of suspended sediments were performed by varying the peak discharge of the flood, and the change of the particulate nutrients in flood plain soil was estimated by using the results of the simulations. The numerical analysis predicts the reduction of the particulate nutrients in the flood plain soils well. The particulate nutrients on the flood plains decrease if the discharge exceeds the flood of approximately 2 year return period in the observation area.  相似文献

An optimal routing problem in multiple I/O data network is one of the most important problems related on the performance of the network basically, and is formulated as a constrained nonlinear optimization problem. When solving the problem considered using neural networks, we may obtain local minima, rather than global minimum, because the problem has multimodals.
