In this study, AA7075 aluminum matrix composites reinforced with the combination of SiC, Al2O3, and B4C particles were fabricated by the liquid metal infiltration method. The effects of the relative ratio of B4C and Al2O3 particles on the microstructural, wear, and corrosion features of the composite samples were analyzed using XRD, light metal microscopy, SEM, EDS, Brinell hardness, ball-on-disc type tribometer, and potentiodynamic polarization devices. It was determined that infiltration occurred more successfully, and homogenously distributed particles with reduced porosity were obtained as the amount of Al2O3 increased. Worn surface studies revealed that the specimens were predominantly worn by abrasion and adhesion. The increase in B4C/Al2O3 ratio caused a decrease in the hardness and wear strength, whereas it increased the corrosion resistance.  相似文献

In the areas where broiler industry is located, poultry manure from chicken farms could be a major source of ground water pollution, and this may have extensive effects particularly when the farms use nearby ground water as their fresh water supply. Therefore the prediction the extent of this pollution, either from rigorous mathematical diffusion modeling or from the perspective of experimental data evaluation bears importance. In this work, we have investigated modeling of the effects of chicken manure on ground water by artificial neural networks. An ANN model was developed to predict the total coliform in the ground water well in poultry farms. The back-propagation algorithm was employed for training and testing the network, and the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm was utilized for optimization. The MATLAB 7.0 environment with Neural Network Toolbox was used for coding. Given the associated input parameters such as the number of chickens, type of manure pool management and depth of well, the model estimates the possible amount of total coliform in the wells to a satisfactory degree. Therefore it is expected to be of help in future for estimating the ground water pollution resulting from chicken farms.  相似文献

In this study, T651‐applied AA7075 alloy was subjected to retrogression and re‐aging (RRA) process. Various retrogression temperatures (180 °C, 280 °C, 370 °C) and times (15 min, 30 min, 90 min) were used to determine the effects of temperature and time on the mechanical and tribological properties of the AA7075 alloy. All re‐aging stages were performed at 120 °C for 24 hours. Retrogression and re‐aging‐applied specimens were characterized by scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, x‐ray diffraction, Charpy V‐notch impact and tensile tests. Brinell hardness measurements and ball‐on‐disc type tribometer measurements by using AISI 316 ball as a counterpart have also been conducted. Grain boundary precipitates in the T651‐applied specimen was transformed from continuous to the discontinuous structure after retrogression and re‐aging process. Continuous MgZn2 precipitates at grain boundaries were disintegrated and re‐precipitated along the grain boundaries. The sizes of intragranular precipitates have become coarsened by comparison with the T651 condition. Hardness, tensile strength and wear resistance were decreased whereas impact toughness values were increased with increasing retrogression temperature and time. The best wear resistance was obtained in the sample treated at 180 °C for 15 minutes.  相似文献

In this work, a dynamic model was developed to simulate the transient behaviour of a pilot scale, continuous, siagewise, 15 plate distillation column separating a mixture of ethanol, iso-propanol and isobutanol. The accuracy of the predictions was assessed by transient response data collected during experiments under step changes in reflux ratio, feed flow rate and feed composition.

Results demonstrated the feasibility of simulating multicomponent distillation under unsteady state conditions with fairly good success. Further improvements were suggested for a better accuracy  相似文献

In the present study, pure magnesium was in situ coated with pre-alloyed Al–Cu–Mg alloy through hot pressing. The produced samples were characterized by means of hardness, wear properties and microstructure characterization. A ball-on-disk test was used to determine the dry sliding wear characteristics of the compacts. The results showed that the hot pressing technique has been successfully applied for producing magnesium parts with compatible wear resistance and hardness to aluminum. The in situ coating of Al on Mg by hot pressing resulted in an increase in hardness of about 30% compared with the pure Mg substrate. The wear rate and friction coefficient of the samples decreased with Al coating and increased with an increase in the applied load during the wear tests, compared with the uncoated material.  相似文献

The ?atala?z? coal-fired power plant (CFPP) is the Turkish CFPP that uses the hard coals produced in Zonguldak, located in the West Black Sea region of the country. Gamma-ray spectrometry was used to determine (226)Ra, (232)Th and (40)K contents in pulverised coal, bottom ash and fly ash samples. The natural radionuclide concentrations in pulverised coal ranged from 29 to 61 Bq kg(-1) for (226)Ra, from 32 to 55 Bq kg(-1) for (232)Th and from 229 to 414 Bq kg(-1) for (40)K. The fly ash fraction gave concentrations ranging from 80 to 98 Bq kg(-1) for (226)Ra, from 64 to 85 Bq kg(-1) for Th and from 754 to 992 Bq kg(-1) for (40)K, respectively. The enrichment factors from coal to fly ashes are 1.7, 2.24 and 2.6 for (232)Th, (226)Ra and (40)K, respectively. Therefore, it is advisable to monitor the environmental impact of the power plant.  相似文献

In this study, monosized polystyrene (PS) latices were prepared by dispersion polymerization of styrene in isopropanol-water media using poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) as a steric stabilizer and 2,2′-azobisizobutyronitrile (AIBN) as an initiator. The effects of initiator and stabilizer concentrations, alcohol/water and monomer/dispersion medium ratio on the polymerization kinetics, and the size and monodispersity of PS latices were experimented with in a stirred reactor system. Monosize PS beads in the size range of 1.0–3.0 μm were obtained. The PS latex obtained in the first step having a diameter of 2.3 μm were used as the seed latex, and styrene/acrylate monomers, acrylic acid (AA), 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), and dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) were copolymerized onto the PS latex particles. The incorporation of functional groups to the surface and bulk structure of PS was confirmed by IR, FTIR, XPS, and zeta potential measurements. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

In this study, we applied the epitope imprinting approach to prepare molecularly imprinted monolithic cryogels for immunoglobulin G (IgG) recognition. In this respect, we imprinted Fab fragments of IgG molecules instead of intact protein molecules via two different non-covalent interactions. In the first approach, we directly coordinated Fab fragments with N-methacryloyl-L-histidine (MAH), polymerizable derivative of L-histidine, but for the second, we used cupric ions [Cu(II)] as mediator between MAH and Fab fragments. The monolithic cryogels were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, swelling test, and scanning electron microscopy. Then, the monolithic cryogels were used for Fab fragment adsorption from aqueous solution while evaluating the factors such as pH and Fab fragment concentration affecting on adsorption process in continuous set-up. After that, monolithic cryogels were used for IgG adsorption by varying pH, IgG concentration, flowrate, and temperature in appropriate ranges. Maximum IgG adsorption capacities were determined as 32.4 mg/g and 49.0 mg/g for directly coordinated cryogel (MIPDirect) and Cu(II) assisted cryogel (MIPCu(II) assisted), respectively. Non-imprinted monolithic cryogels were also prepared for control purposes. In addition to Fab fragments and IgG molecules, albumin and Fc fragment of IgG molecules were used as competitor biomolecules in order to investigate the selectivity gained by imprinting process. Relative selectivity constants were calculated as 1.47, 2.64 and 3.89 for MIPDirect and 2.90, 8.98, and 11.51 for MIPCu(II) assisted for Fab/IgG, Fab/Fc, and Fab/albumin as biomolecule pairs, respectively. The desorption efficiency and reusability of MIPCu(II) assisted cryogel were better than that of MIPDirect. The results reported here showed that the metal ion assistance improved the selectivity features of the imprinted cryogels and allowed to study under milder conditions with enhanced adsorptive properties.  相似文献

Al4Cu2Ni2Mg alloy is an age-hardenable aluminum alloy. The effect of different solution and aging heat treatment conditions on the microstructure, hardness and wear resistance of the alloy was studied. The cast specimens were solution treated and then artificially aged. Optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were used to investigate the microstructures of the specimens. The hardness and wear tests were applied to understanding the effects of heat treatment. After aging for 8 h, the hardness of the alloy increases from HV10 96.5 to 151.1. Aging treatment for a longer duration causes a drop in the hardness because of over aging. Increasing the hardness of the alloy increases the wear resistance. As a result of all tests, solution heat treatment at 540 °C for 8 h and aging at 190 °C for 8 h were chosen for optimum heat treatment conditions for this alloy.  相似文献
