Organotin polyamine ethers containing acyclovir in their backbone were synthesized in moderate to high yield employing the aqueous interfacial polycondensation system. The products are high molecular weight polymers. Infrared spectroscopy of the products shows new bands characteristic of the formation of Sn–N and Sn–O bonds consistent with the proposed structure. MALDI-TOF MS below 2000 Da shows the presence of organotin and acyclovir units containing these two moieties. The products show moderate inhibition of a number of cancer cell lines and exhibit the ability to inhibit a number of viruses, particularly the herpes simplex virus-1 and varicella zoster virus that are responsible for herpes, chicken pox and shingles.  相似文献

Uric acid (UA) was detected in the presence of ascorbic acid (AA) at GC electrode by cyclic voltametry (CV) and differential pulse voltametry (DPV) in aqueous media of cationic polyelectrolyte (poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA)). Both, UA and AA are anionic nature and electro-static attraction with cationic solution. This lowered their oxidation potentials and increased anodic current. In CV studies, the UA oxidation potential was decreased by 400 mV in the presence of PDDA along with increase in peak current. Effect of PDDA and pH on Epa and Ipa were also studied. About 360 mV difference in oxidation peak potentials was observed for AA and UA in PDDA media, which established a quick method for their simultaneous determination. The detection limit of UA in the presence of 200 folds AA was found as 1 μM with correlation coefficient of 0.994 and sensitivity of 0.05 μA μM−1. The proposed method has been also applied for determining the UA in human urine without any pretreatment, and found to be satisfactory.  相似文献

Wildfire burnt forest biomass can be salvaged as feedstock for bioenergy power generating stations. Despite availability of such forest biomass in northwestern Ontario, its procurement has generally been considered uneconomic and no studies have looked into the cost of harvesting, processing, and transporting the burnt material for bioenergy production. In order to meet the demand of biomass for proposed and existing power generating stations using renewable fuels, a standard costing model is used to determine the feasibility of procuring biomass from burnt areas using a full-tree to roadside, roadside grinder to mill system. The case-study was conducted at the Hogarth Plantations near Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. The total cost incurred for processing and delivery of biomass from wildfire burnt area with a hauling distance of 7 km and total trip cycle time of 2.55 h was found to be $29.65 gt?1, with net energy content of 11.4 GJ gt?1. The total procurement cost depends on the hauling distance and a linear relationship between the two was established. The energy analysis found a net energy output to input ratio of 35:1 for the operation.  相似文献

By using the method of separation of variables in the elliptical coordinate system, a representative formula in terms of Mathieu and modified Mathieu functions is derived and longitudinal field components for the even and odd modes are presented for the proposed fiber. The eigen value equation for the fiber to be considered is obtained by solving the fourth order determinantal equation under weak guidance condition and is given in this paper. The cutoff frequency of several lower orders modes for different eccentricities have been obtained and their propagation characteristics have been plotted. The effect of the eccentricity on the modal cutoff values and mode transmissions is discussed. Finally, the modal birefringence in the proposed fiber is also estimated.  相似文献

Superconducting compounds with nominal compositions Bi1.7Pb0.3Sr1.6Ca2 Cu3.4O x and Bi1.9Sb0.1Sr2Ca2Cu3O y have been synthesized by ceramic and glass routes and characterized by X-ray diffraction, electrical resistivity and dielectric constant measurements. The zero-electrical resistance temperatures are about 70K. The dielectric constant of the glasses at room temperature is around 30.  相似文献

Immunization by peptides based on the repeat sequences of Plasmodium falciparum or P. vivax antigen(s) have shown inconsistent results during clinical trials in humans. This could be attributed to the lack of T-cell help or antigenic polymorphism. Thus, attention has been focused towards the more conserved non-repeat regions. The present study was undertaken to map the antigenic determinant in the vicinity of region II (outside the repeat) of CS protein of P. vivax. The immunogenicity of the peptide was studied alone and after linking with polytuftsin (PT), using alum and Freund's adjuvant, in inbred strains of mice with different genetic backgrounds. The humoral response and antigen induced T-cell proliferation assays clearly demonstrated the immunomodulatory activity of PT. Comparable results were observed with antigen(s) administered either in alum or Freund's adjuvant. The induction of IgG2a and IgG2b antibody isotypes by both, peptide as well as the conjugate, may indicate that the T-helper response involved is of Th1 type. Further the immunofluorescence studies have shown that antibodies recognized the air dried sporozoites of P. cynomolgi. The results thus show that the above sequence has overlapping B and T-cell determinants and that alum can be substituted for Freund's adjuvant in generating an effective immune response.  相似文献

The aim of digital image steganalysis is to detect hidden information (which can be a message or an image) in a steganographic image. An ideal steganography method encrypts the information in the image such that it cannot be easily detected. Currently, a wide variety of different steganography techniques are being used; therefore, more advanced steganalysis methods are needed that can detect the steganographic images coded by different techniques. A typical steganalysis technique consists of two parts: (1) feature extraction and (2) classification. In this paper, a new steganalysis technique based on the Markov chain process is proposed. In the proposed technique, after extraction of the new features, a non-linear classifier named support vector machine is applied to classify clean and encrypted images. Analysis of variance is used to reduce the dimensions of the proposed features. The performance of the proposed technique is compared against subtractive DCT coefficient adjacency matrix (SDAM) and subtractive pixel adjacency matrix (SPAM) methods using an image database prepared by three strong steganography techniques called yet another steganographic scheme, model based, and perturbed quantization. The obtained results show that the proposed method provides better performance than SDAM and SPAM methods.  相似文献

Influence of heat input on the microstructure and mechanical properties of gas tungsten arc welded 304 stainless steel (SS) joints was studied. Three heat input combinations designated as low heat (2.563 kJ/mm), medium heat (2.784 kJ/mm) and high heat (3.017 kJ/mm) were selected from the operating window of the gas tungsten arc welding process (GTAW) and weld joints made using these combinations were subjected to microstructural evaluations and tensile testing so as to analyze the effect of thermal arc energy on the microstructure and mechanical properties of these joints. The results of this investigation indicate that the joints made using low heat input exhibited higher ultimate tensile strength (UTS) than those welded with medium and high heat input. Significant grain coarsening was observed in the heat affected zone (HAZ) of all the joints and it was found that the extent of grain coarsening in the heat affected zone increased with increase in the heat input. For the joints investigated in this study it was also found that average dendrite length and inter-dendritic spacing in the weld zone increases with increase in the heat input which is the main reason for the observable changes in the tensile properties of the weld joints welded with different arc energy inputs.  相似文献

The objective of this paper is to investigate the conjugated heat transfer in a thick walled cavity filled with copper-water nanofluid. The analysis uses a two-dimensional rectangular enclosure under conjugated convective-conductive heat transfer conditions and considers a range of Rayleigh numbers. The enclosure was subjected to a constant and uniform heat flux at the left thick wall generating a natural convection flow. The thicknesses of the other boundaries are assumed to be zero. The right wall is kept at a low constant temperature while the horizontal walls are assumed to be adiabatic. A moveable divider is located at the bottom wall of the cavity. The governing equations are derived based on the conceptual model in the Cartesian coordinate system. The study has been carried out for the Rayleigh number in the range of 105 ≤ Ra ≤ 108, and for the solid volume fraction at 0 ≤ ? ≤ 0.05. Results are presented in the form of streamlines, isotherms, average Nusselt number and input heat absorption by the nanofluid. The effects of solid volume fraction of nanofluids, the location of the divider and also the value of the ambient convective heat transfer coefficient on the hydrodynamic and thermal characteristics of flow have been analyzed. An increase in the average Nusselt number was found with the solid concentration for the whole range of Rayleigh number. In addition, results show that the position of the divider and the ambient convective heat transfer coefficient have a considerable effect on the heat transfer enhancement.  相似文献
