The thermal stability of polymers is a main issue when used as friction elements under dry sliding. Cast polyamide grades processed with either natrium or magnesium catalysors are slid on a small-scale and a large-scale test configuration to reveal the effect of softening or degradation on the sliding stability and to investigate possibilities for extrapolation of friction and wear rates between both testing scales. The combination of softening and afterwards transition into the glassy state is detrimental for the sliding stability of natrium catalysed polyamides, characterised by heavy noise during sliding. A transfer film formed under continuous softening also provides high friction. Melting during initial sliding is necessary for stabilisation in both friction and wear, and eventual softening of a molten film near the end of the test then not deteriorates the sliding stability. Softening of magnesium catalysed polyamides is favourable for the formation of a coherent transfer film resulting in more stable sliding than natrium catalysed polyamides. The differences in softening mechanisms of both polyamide grades is correlated to structural changes investigated by thermal analysis and Raman spectroscopy: the γ crystalline structure prevails in magnesium catalysed samples and the α crystalline structure is predominant in natrium catalysed samples. For internal oil lubricated polyamides, a time dependent degradation of the polyamide bulk deteriorates the supply of internal oil lubricant to the sliding interface, resulting in high friction and wear under overload conditions. As the degradation mechanisms during sliding are strongly correlated to the test set-up, extrapolation is only possible for friction in a limited application range, while wear rates cannot be extrapolated.  相似文献

As the use of common engineering plastics in tribological systems is limited to low sliding velocities and low loads because of creep and insufficient temperature resistance, there is increasing interest in application of high‐performance polymers such as polyimides, characterized by their ability to maintain favorable mechanical properties up to their melting point. However, for practical design, tribotesting remains necessary for determination of the material's performance under a given contact situation. In this article, two commercially available polyimides are tested at relatively high sliding velocities and contact pressures under atmospheric conditions of temperature and humidity. A consistent overview of tendencies in friction and wear for pure polyimides as a function of applied normal loads and sliding velocities is given. Addition of 15% by weight graphite powder as internal solid lubricant strongly influences friction and wear. Its behavior is compared with pure polyimide grades and differences are discussed in relation with experimental measured bulk‐temperatures. A linear temperature law is derived as a function of pv‐levels and a steady‐state condition is found at different temperature levels, in accordance with thermal conductivity of the polymer bulks. In case of graphite additives, a steady state in temperature coincides with the regime condition of wear rate.  相似文献

By exploiting the electrostatic interaction between positively charged pyrrole cation radicals and negatively charged graphene oxide (GO) sheets, we prepared polypyrrole/graphene oxide (PPy/GO) composite films by a one-step electrochemical process. We studied the effects of the polymerization current density and the GO content in electrolyte on the formation of PPy/GO coatings onto platinum neural microelectrode sites. As compared with pure PPy film, PPy/GO coatings show a rougher surface feature with micrometer-scale bulges. The impedance of the PPy/GO coated Pt electrode is only about 10% of the bare Pt electrode at the biological relevant 1 kHz, while the charge capacity density is more than two orders of the magnitude of the bare Pt electrode. Moreover, the PPy/GO coated Pt electrodes show higher performance than the PPy coated electrodes for the application of neural probe.  相似文献

This paper describes a new algorithm for initializing and estimating Wiener–Hammerstein models which consist of two linear parts with a static nonlinearity in between. The algorithm makes use of the best linear model of the system, which is a consistent estimate of the systems dynamics for Gaussian excitations. The linear model is split in all possible ways into two sub-models. For all possible splits, a Wiener–Hammerstein model is initialized which means that a nonlinearity is introduced in between the two sub-models. The linear parameters of this nonlinearity can be estimated using least-squares. All initialized models can then be ranked depending on the fit. Typically, one is only interested in the best one, for which all parameters are fitted using prediction error minimization. The paper explains the algorithm in detail and consistency of the initialization is proven. Computational aspects are investigated, showing that in most realistic cases, the number of splits of the initial linear model remains low enough to make the algorithm useful. The algorithm is illustrated on an example where it is shown that the initialization is a tool to avoid many local minima.  相似文献

This paper presents a computational study into the static aeroelastic response of a 2D wind turbine airfoil under varying wind conditions. An efficient and accurate code that couples the X-Foil software for computation of airfoil aerodynamics and the MATLAB PDE toolbox for computation of the airfoil deformation is developed for the aero-elastic computations. The code is validated qualitatively against computational results in literature. The impact of a flexibility of the airfoil is studied for a range of design parameters including the free stream velocity, pitch angle, airfoil thickness, and airfoil camber. Static aero-elastic effects have the potential to improve lift and the lift over drag ratio at off-design wind speed conditions. Flexibility delays stall to a large pitch angle, increasing the operating range of a flexible blade airfoil. With increased thickness the airfoil deformation decrease only linearly.  相似文献

This paper is about the identification of discrete-time Wiener systems from output measurements only (blind identification). Assuming that the unobserved input is white Gaussian noise, that the static nonlinearity is invertible, and that the output is observed without errors, a Gaussian maximum-likelihood estimator is constructed. Its asymptotic properties are analyzed and the Cramer-Rao lower bound is calculated. A two-step procedure for generating high-quality initial estimates is presented as well. The paper includes the illustration of the method on a simulation example.  相似文献

This paper studies the generation of initial estimates for the dynamic part of a Hammerstein model. It will be shown that ARMAX or Box-Jenkins models result in better initial estimates than ARX or output-error (OE) models even in the absence of disturbing noise. This will be proven by noticing that a static nonlinear system can be replaced by a static gain plus a nonlinear noise source that acts in a completely similar way to disturbing noise for the study of the second-order properties of the estimators in the prediction error framework.  相似文献

This work deals with the identification of dynamic systems from noisy input–output observations, where the noise-free input is not parameterized. The basic assumptions made are (1) the dynamic system can be modeled by a (discrete- or continuous-time) rational transfer function model, (2) the temporal input–output disturbances are mutually independent, identically distributed noises, and (3) the input power spectrum is non-white (not necessarily rational) and is modeled nonparametrically. The system identifiability is guaranteed by exploiting the non-white spectrum property of the noise-free input. A frequency domain identification strategy is developed to estimate consistently the plant model parameters and the input–output noise variances. The uncertainty bound of the estimates is calculated and compared to the Cramér–Rao lower bound. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is illustrated on numerical examples.  相似文献

In this note, a method is proposed to generate improved uncertainty bounds on the poles and zeros of an identified system. The uncertainty ellipsoids are replaced by dedicated uncertainty regions with a given probability level. The method can be applied to Markov estimators in the time or frequency domain  相似文献

Presents a generalized frequency domain identification method to identify single-input/single-output (SISO) systems combining two previously published extensions in one method: arbitrary but persistent excitations are allowed and a nonparametric noise model is extracted from the same data that are used to identify the system. The method is directly applicable to identification in feedback if an external persistently exciting reference signal is available  相似文献
