A hybrid technology for the realization of three-dimensional (3-D) miniaturized power inductors is presented. Our devices consist of planar Cu coils on polyimide substrates, and mm-size ferrite magnetic cores, obtained by three-dimensional micro-patterning of ferrite wafers using powder blasting. The coils are realized using an in-house developed high-resolution polyimide spinning and Cu electroplating process. Winding widths down to 5 /spl mu/m have been obtained and total device volumes are ranging between 1.5 and 10 mm/sup 3/. Inductive and resistive properties are characterized as a function of frequency; inductance values in the 100 /spl mu/H range have been obtained.  相似文献

Refined palm olein was dry fractionated via three different cooling programs on laboratory-scale fractionation equipment. The enrichment and depletion of the main triacylglycerols in the liquid and solid phase was plotted as a function of the crystallization degree of the oil. It was shown that for the given conditions and palm olein composition, the initial crystals mainly consisted of PPP, diacylglycerols, POP and PLP. At higher crystallization degrees, a sharp viscosity increase in the crystal suspension was primarily related to an obvious decrease of POP but also of POS in the recovered superolein, while the general crystallization rate of the system remained unchanged. Rather than a change in crystallization rate of POP, a change in the ratio between the crystallizing monounsaturated triacylglycerols is linked with the high viscosity of the crystal slurry. For a comparable degree of crystallization, the superolein of the more viscous crystal slurry, obtained through a membrane press filtration up to 15 bar, was more unsaturated than the superolein filtered from the less viscous slurry. Consequently, the high unsaturation in the corresponding soft palm mid fraction is only the result of an incomplete phase separation, and not due to an increased intersolubility of unsaturated triacylglycerols in the crystals.  相似文献

SU-8 photoresist is commonly used in the field of microfabrication as structural material or for molding of microfluidic devices. One major limitation, however, is the difficulty to process partially freestanding SU-8 structures or monolithic closed cavities and channels on-chip. We propose here a simple method for the fabrication of suspended structures, in particular of monolithic SU-8 microchannels. The method is based on the processing of a SU-8 double-layer. Appropriate modification of the optical properties of the upper layer allows for selective crosslinking in the layer sandwich. This process is suitable for versatile layouts comprising open and hollow SU-8 structures on the same chip.  相似文献

Powder blasting micro-erosion is a fast and flexible technique for the micropatterning of brittle materials. We have combined 10 /spl mu/m diameter Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ eroding particles with a new masking technique to realize the smallest possible structures with the powder blasting process (30 /spl mu/m). Our masking technology is based on the sequential combination of two polymers: 1) the brittle epoxy resin SU8 for its photosensitivity and 2) the elastic and thermo-curable poly-(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS) for its large erosion resistance. We have micropatterned glass microstructures with aspect ratio 1 and structural details down to 20 /spl mu/m. We compare the mask size-dependent etching rate using both 1.0 and 30 jam diameter Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ particles and find a decreasing etching rate for structures that are smaller than about 10 times the particle size. Combining SU8 with PDMS proves to be a very easy and accurate masking technology that allows exploring the fundamental dimensional limits of the powder blasting micro-erosion process.  相似文献

A growing interest in the development of thick functional structures with high aspect ratio for microelectromechanical system (MEMS) applications has triggered the investigation of several polymer materials. This paper presents LF55GN flexopolymer material as a new negative-tone photoresist to fabricate ultrathick MEMS microstructures. Up to 4-mm-thick layers are obtained using a casting method in a single photolithography step. Standard UV illumination is used to polymerize such thick microstructures in less than 1 min and with an aspect ratio up to 27. We have fabricated microstructures on rigid, flexible, and stepped substrates. Using oblique UV exposure, tilted pillars are achieved with an angle of 25deg to the substrate normal. Due to the elastomeric nature of the LF55GN flexopolymer, the microstructures can be easily deformed without causing any stress-related problems.  相似文献

An improved physical understanding of the rotor aerodynamics of a horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) is required to reduce the uncertainties associated with today's design codes. Wind tunnel experiments contribute to increased knowledge and enable validation and construction of models. The present study focuses on the near‐wake of a model HAWT in both axial and yawed flow conditions. At three downstream planes parallel to the rotor plane, single‐sensor hot‐film traverses are made. The phase‐locked unsteady three‐dimensional flow velocity vector is determined by a novel data reduction method. A series of two papers discusses the near‐wake aerodynamics of a model HAWT. The main goals are to obtain a detailed understanding of the near‐wake development and to arrive at a base for model construction and validation. The first paper presents the experimental setup, data reduction and the results for the baseline case (axial flow conditions). In the second paper, the results for the yawed flow cases are presented and the effect of yaw misalignment on the near‐wake development is discussed. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
