Preliminary Design of In-Pile High Temperature High Pressure Test Loop

Preliminary design of in-pile high temperature high pressure （HTHP） test loop is one of application items at China Advanced Research Reactor （CARR）. The design content is to confirm design parameter, the system flow, standard equipments and layout of equipments according to permitting construction space, specific request of pipeline and equipment for test loop. The files about regulation and general outline are compiled and relative tests are presented.

Design and Manufacture of Large Grained UO2 Pellets and Test Assembly

This paper introduces design and manufacture of fuel assembly for UO2 pellets irradiation program. The advanced UO2 pellet is large grained and is sintered with addictives of Al2O3/SiO2/Cr2O3. It will decrease the release rate of fission gas, reduce the PCI and inner pressure of the fuel rods, in result it will increase discharge bumup and extend loading period of fuel rod. Forward and Backward Slip Models in MAS Rolling Process and Its OnLine Application

Based on the MAS rolling process in plate mill, the mathematical models of forward and backward slips of the wedges at plate head and tail were derived. According to the new model, the difference between the forward slip of the wedge and that of the normal part of the plate is obviously very small. The deviation is less than 25% in general. Thus, in actual application, the forward slip of normal part of the plate can be used to calculate the length of rolled plate instead of the derived model. The rationality of this simplified method was confirmed with the application in Shougang 3 500 mm plate mill. The test results showed that the wedges of plate head and tail are symmetrical. The plate width deviation is greatly decreased by using the MAS method.     

Numerical Simulation of Heat Transfer and Deformation of Initial Shell in Soft Contact Continuous Casting Mold Under High Frequency Electromagnetic Field

  Heat transfer and deformation of initial solidification shell in soft contact continuous casting mold under high frequency electromagnetic field were analyzed using numerical simulation method; the relative electromagnetic parameters were obtained from the previous studies. Owing to the induction heating of a high frequency electromagnetic field (20 kHz), the thickness of initial solidification shell decreases, and the temperature of strand surface and slit copper mold increases when compared with the case without the electromagnetic filed. The viscosity of flux decreases because of the induction heating of the high frequency electromagnetic field, and the dimension of the flux channel increases with electromagnetic pressure; thus, the deformation behavior of initial solidification shell was different before and after the action of high frequency electromagnetic field. Furthermore, the abatement mechanism of oscillation marks under high frequency electromagnetic field was explained.
