This study investigates consumers’ attitudes towards, and familiarity with, food quality certification in selected urban areas in the South of Vietnam. Cross-sectional data were collected by means of a consumer survey (n = 500). Consumers’ awareness of food quality-related terms was relatively low. Less than half the participants claimed to understand the meaning of good agricultural practices (GAP), organic food and sustainability. Consumers’ familiarity with food quality certification (Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices (VietGAP), Global Good Agricultural Practices (GLOBALG.A.P.), organic, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)) was also low. Familiarity with food quality certification was positively associated with general attitude and food choice motives, namely food safety concern, perceived importance of healthy eating, and perceived importance of environmental consequences relating to food purchase. Food safety concern and perceived importance of environmental consequences were positively associated with consumers’ attitudes towards safe vegetables, as well as high quality rice. Perceived importance of healthy eating was positively related to attitude towards high quality rice. Findings suggest that food safety aspects of safe vegetables and high quality rice should be emphasized during policy and marketing activities for food quality certification. Additionally, an increase in the perceived importance of environmental consequences relating to quality food purchase should be encouraged to enhance positive consumer attitudes towards quality food. Efforts to improve public awareness and knowledge of food quality certification and sustainable agricultural practices in developing countries such as Vietnam are highly recommended.  相似文献

Since 2010, Guatemala has been exporting ethanol, principally to European markets. This means that Guatemalan biofuel has been certified sustainable, although this is deeply contested with NGO reports drawing attention to the negative impacts of ‘agrofuels’, particularly for marginalised communities. Guatemala therefore provides an excellent case study for examining not only the impacts of increased global demand for biofuels, but also whether sustainability, as conceptualised by the European Union's Renewable Energy Directive, can capture those issues that are salient to the Guatemalan context. Drawing on more than eighty qualitative, in-depth interviews, this paper finds that the bloc's governance framework for biofuels fails to capture many of the issues that matter most to local people in Guatemala, namely land access, trade unions and compliance with the law. This paper argues that the current framework therefore runs the risk of exacerbating the plight of Guatemala's already marginalised rural communities.  相似文献

Triple-modular-redundant applications are widely used for fault-tolerant safety–critical computation. They have strict timing requirements for correct operation. We present an architecture which provides composability and mixed-criticality to support integration and to ease certification of such safety–critical applications. In this architecture, an additional layer is required for the sharing/partitioning of resources. This potentially jeopardizes the synchronization necessary for the triple-modular-redundant applications.We investigate the effects of different (unsynchronized) scheduling methods for the resource-sharing layer in this architecture and conclude that an out-of-the-box solution, which guarantees the technical separation between applications with fast reaction time requirements is only feasible when executing at most one instance of a triple-modular-redundant application per CPU-core for single and multi-core CPUs. Only when accepting changes in the applications or the applications’ synchronization mechanisms, are more flexible solutions with good performance and resource utilization available.  相似文献

This paper is focused on qualification procedures for metal parts manufactured using new additive manufacturing (AM) techniques in the aerospace industry. The main aim is to understand the interaction between these technologies and the stringent regulatory framework of this industry in order to develop correct quality assurance and quality control procedures in accordance with the certification process for the technology and spare parts. These include all the testing and validation necessary to implement them, as well as to maintain their capability throughout their life-cycle, specific procedures to manufacture or repair parts, work-flows and records, amongst others. An entire qualification procedure for electron beam melting (EBM) to reproduce and repair an aerospace part has been developed and it is presented in this paper. These will be part of the future quality assurance and quality management systems of those aerospace companies that implement AM in their supply chain.  相似文献

The construction industry is a high hazard industry. Accidents frequently occur, and part of them are closely relate to workers who are not certified to carry out specific work. Although workers without a trade certificate are restricted entry to construction sites, few ad-hoc approaches have been commonly employed to check if a worker is carrying out the work for which they are certificated. This paper proposes a novel framework to check whether a site worker is working within the constraints of their certification. Our framework comprises key video clips extraction, trade recognition and worker competency evaluation. Trade recognition is a new proposed method through analyzing the dynamic spatiotemporal relevance between workers and non-worker objects. We also improved the identification results by analyzing, comparing, and matching multiple face images of each worker obtained from videos. The experimental results demonstrate the reliability and accuracy of our deep learning-based method to detect workers who are carrying out work for which they are not certified to facilitate safety inspection and supervision.  相似文献

Airworthiness certification is required when bonded repairs are made to primary composite structure in situations where damage has reduced or has the potential to reduce residual strength to below the design ultimate strength. Generally, certification of bonded primary structure poses many difficulties. As most repairs are one-off events meeting these certification requirements is especially challenging since demonstration by testing will generally not be possible or cost-effective. This paper discusses options for addressing the two key issues relating to certification: (a) how to validate initial and enduring bond strength of adhesive bonds, mainly given the inability of conventional non-destructive inspection to provide this assurance and (b) how to develop acceptable generic design allowables for bonded repairs which represent actual failure modes – especially for cyclic loading, since validation by testing of simulated repairs will generally be infeasible. It is concluded that proof testing of bonded repair coupons is a promising approach for validating bond strength and fatigue testing of representative bond joint specimen can provide generic allowables for patch design. For hidden structure or very high value repairs structural health monitoring of repairs based on a strain-transfer approach offers considerable promise.  相似文献

This study analysed how the ISO 9000 framework could be employed in the construction process. Interviews were conducted at twelve companies in Sweden that utilized the quality system standard ISO 9001. Many of the concepts contained in the quality system standard were experienced as being too abstract and too difficult to comprehend. Frequently quality mangement was considered as serving the function of improving the company's competitiveness and allowing the company to be more efficient. It appeared difficult, however, in view of the many stages the construction process encompasses and the diverging interests represented, to meet the needs of the construction sector by the use of ISO 9001 alone. Some of the paragraphs it contains also tended to be confused with one another and to be misinterpreted. Others, although useful elsewhere, appeared scarcely to find application in the construction sector. Developments in the area appear to be going in the direction away from using large bureaucratic inspection systems and quality handbooks aimed at impressing customers and towards employing more diversified systems. Certification was found to be a matter of concern to all of the companies investigated.  相似文献
