Analyzing Food Science Research for Publishing Characteristics as a Model for Understanding the Needs of Researchers

Abstract

This paper provides a methodology to study the characteristics of the research output from a university department. The faculty publications and their cited references over a 10-year period were used as the basis for this study to identify their publishing patterns and the types of material they are publishing; a core set of journals and other resources they are publishing in and citing over this period; the characteristics of the journals in which they publish and cite; the degree of openness of their publications and their citation advantage; and the age of resources that are referenced.     

The Program for Cooperative Cataloging’s Transformative Role as a Leader of Change

Abstract

The transformation of library metadata encoded in MARC to linked data will enable libraries to participate in the Semantic Web. This transformation, however, will be an iterative development dependent upon community-based decisions. The PCC, as a community-based organization, is ideally positioned to lead this transformation. As PCC guides this transition, three broad areas must be resolved: the conversion of legacy data to linked data, the use of identifiers to support controlled headings, and the transformation of current workflows to linked-data counterparts. By embracing the Web as a community, PCC can confirm its relevance in a complex web of global data.     

Examining the Library as a Site for Intervention: A Mixed-Methods Case Study Evaluation of the “Innovative Solutions to Homelessness” Project

Abstract

This study examined a project that delivered social work services to homeless individuals. A mixed-methods case study was conducted using quantitative and qualitative data from 93 library employees and the project’s Homelessness Prevention Outreach Worker (HPOW). There was an increase in the number of clients accessing community supports during the project, and the HPOW was integral to the provision of support and resources to homeless individuals. Staff training was associated with significantly greater knowledge, comfort, and skills in working with homeless individuals. These findings can inform the delivery and implementation of similar programs for homeless individuals.

[目的/意义] 面对多学科领域、多类型用户的专题情报服务需求，建立专题情报数据管理与智能分析平台。实现专题情报分析的流程化和智能化，同时对融入专家智慧的专题情报分析过程数据进行管理，丰富服务模式，提升服务需求响应速度。[方法/过程] 在调研已有相关研究与实践分析基础上，提出平台设计思路、建设框架，对平台主要功能和关键技术进行剖析。[结果/结论] 专题情报数据管理与智能分析平台已建设完成。平台集成了多来源多类型数据，打通了从数据到分析的服务链条。嵌入了多种情报分析方法和深度学习算法，实现了多维多层次分析服务。能够对分析过程和情报分析人员历史积累数据进行管理，实现数据共享和重复利用。     

Assisting,Instructing, Assessing: 21st Century Student Centered Librarianship

ABSTRACT

For librarians at the University of North Florida, there was a need to move beyond information literacy instruction to one-on-one and small group research consultations to aid in student success. By staffing the research desk with staff and students, librarians were able to open their calendars to allow more time for in-person, phone, and online consultations to aid in meeting the research goals of students at the institution. After assessing the research consultation program for two years, there has been a positive correlation between research consultation usage, satisfaction in completing assignments, and student success measures throughout the university.

《左传》是我国首部以编年为次序、以鲁国十二公为传主,系统记述春秋战国时期历史,对中国文化产生了巨大影响的文史作品。文章在概述《左传》文化价值的基础上,梳理了两千多年来关于《左传》文本与作者的主要学术争论,甄别《左传》流变过程中的22个关键文本。     

高校图书馆微信公众平台老年教师使用意愿影响因素研究

[目的/意义]老年教师的使用意愿不高严重影响了高校图书馆微信公众平台的发展与进步，因此需要研究高校图书馆微信公众平台的老年教师使用意愿影响因素。[方法/过程]对科技接受模型进行改进与扩展，基于结构方程，引入性别、年龄与经验等调节因素，搭建老年教师高校图书馆微信公众平台使用意愿模型，并基于四川高校的调研数据对模型与假设进行检验与分析。[结果/结论]研究结果表明：从整体来看，该模型对老年教师高校图书馆微信公众号使用意愿的总体解释效果良好；从各个影响因素来看：实用性感知以及群体影响对老年教师高校图书馆微信公众号使用意愿具有显著的正面影响，而生理机能显著反向影响其使用意愿。     

我国高校知识产权信息服务现状、困境及对策

[目的/意义] 知识产权是经济、科技和文化实力的重要体现，已经成为各国竞相争夺的战略性资源。在建设知识产权强国背景下，急需提升高校知识产权信息服务的能力和水平，支撑高校科技创新和"双一流"建设。[方法/过程] 通过对高校知识产权信息服务工作的现状进行分析，总结高校开展知识产权信息服务工作面临的问题，并提出解决对策。[结果/结论] 针对高校知识产权信息服务面临的困境，提出改变科研评价导向，加强知识产权信息资源建设，构建知识产权信息服务标准体系，加大人才培养力度，贯通产学研全链条，有效运用大数据、人工智能技术的建议。     

国内外社交媒体存档研究与实践述评

[目的/意义]社交媒体是网络信息资源的重要组成部分，对国内外社交媒体存档的相关研究成果进行总结与梳理，形成比较完整的综述内容，为国内该领域研究提供参考与借鉴。[方法/过程]基于多学科视角，通过文献计量与内容分析得到社交媒体存档领域的文献分布情况，总结社交媒体存档的理论基础，从宏观层面将社交媒体存档理论与实践研究归纳为"目的与主体""政策与指南""问题与障碍"三个研究主题并展开综述。[结果/结论]国内外社交媒体存档研究具有发展速度较快、与实践结合紧密、区域发展不均衡等特征，在未来研究中需要重视研究对象的变化、管理标准的构建以及多主体间的协作。最后对国内社交媒体存档研究与实践的发展提出建议。
