An on-chip polarized light source is desirable in signal processing, optical communication, and display applications. Layered semiconductors with reduced in-plane symmetry have inherent anisotropic excitons that are attractive candidates as polarized dipole emitters. Herein, the demonstration of polarized light-emitting diode based on anisotropic excitons in few-layer ReS2, a 2D semiconductor with excitonic transition energy of 1.5–1.6 eV, is reported. The light-emitting device is based on minority carrier (hole) injection into n-type ReS2 through a hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) tunnel barrier in a metal–insulator–semiconductor (MIS) van der Waals heterostack. Two distinct emission peaks from excitons are observed at near-infrared wavelength regime from few-layer ReS2. The emissions exhibit a degree of polarization of 80% reflecting the nearly 1D nature of excitons in ReS2.  相似文献

Unlike conventional plasmonic media, polaritonic van der Waals (vdW) materials hold promise for active control of light–matter interactions. The dispersion relations of elementary excitations such as phonons and plasmons can be tuned in layered vdW systems via stacking using functional substrates. In this work, infrared nanoimaging and nanospectroscopy of hyperbolic phonon polaritons are demonstrated in a novel vdW heterostructure combining hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) and vanadium dioxide (VO2). It is observed that the insulator‐to‐metal transition in VO2 has a profound impact on the polaritons in the proximal hBN layer. In effect, the real‐space propagation of hyperbolic polaritons and their spectroscopic resonances can be actively controlled by temperature. This tunability originates from the effective change in local dielectric properties of the VO2 sublayer in the course of the temperature‐tuned insulator‐to‐metal phase transition. The high susceptibility of polaritons to electronic phase transitions opens new possibilities for applications of vdW materials in combination with strongly correlated quantum materials.  相似文献

Abstract. Suppose that { X t } is a Gaussian stationary process with spectral density f ( Λ ). In this paper we consider the testing problem , where K (Λ) is an appropriate function and c is a given constant. This test setting is unexpectedly wide and can be applied to many problems in time series. For this problem we propose a test based on K { f n ( Λ )} dΛ where f n ( Λ ) is a non-parametric spectral estimator of f ( Λ ), and we evaluate the asymptotic power under a sequence of non-parametric contiguous alternatives. We compare the asymptotic power of our test with the other and show some good properties of our test. It is also shown that our testing problem can be applied to testing for independence. Finally some numerical studies are given for a sequence of exponential spectral alternatives. They confirm the theoretical results and the goodness of our test.  相似文献

Submarine groundwater discharge (SGD) is now recognized as an important pathway between land and sea. As such, this flow may contribute to the biogeochemical and other marine budgets of near-shore waters. These discharges typically display significant spatial and temporal variability making assessments difficult. Groundwater seepage is patchy, diffuse, temporally variable, and may involve multiple aquifers. Thus, the measurement of its magnitude and associated chemical fluxes is a challenging enterprise. A joint project of UNESCO and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has examined several methods of SGD assessment and carried out a series of five intercomparison experiments in different hydrogeologic environments (coastal plain, karst, glacial till, fractured crystalline rock, and volcanic terrains). This report reviews the scientific and management significance of SGD, measurement approaches, and the results of the intercomparison experiments. We conclude that while the process is essentially ubiquitous in coastal areas, the assessment of its magnitude at any one location is subject to enough variability that measurements should be made by a variety of techniques and over large enough spatial and temporal scales to capture the majority of these changing conditions. We feel that all the measurement techniques described here are valid although they each have their own advantages and disadvantages. It is recommended that multiple approaches be applied whenever possible. In addition, a continuing effort is required in order to capture long-period tidal fluctuations, storm effects, and seasonal variations.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

For the development of industrial heat pump systems supplying a high-temperature heat source over 130°C, the authors have studied on cooling heat transfer of supercritical pressure fluids flowing in chevron-type plate heat exchangers (PHEs). In this study, to examine the effect of chevron angle on cooling heat transfer of supercritical pressure refrigerants, experiments were conducted for HFC134a and HFO1234ze(E) flowing in the PHEs with the chevron angles from 30° to 65°. In the experiments, cooling heat transfer coefficients were obtained in the wide range of bulk fluid enthalpy from vapor-like high temperature to liquid-like low temperature, changing the pressure in the reduced pressure range from 1.01 to 1.2 at the mass flow rates of 7 and 11 kg/min. Especially for the enthalpy region of the pseudo critical point and its vicinity in which good heat transfer appeared, the effect of chevron angle on heat transfer of supercritical pressure fluids was clarified based on the measurements. Furthermore, the effect of chevron angle was examined for the wide angle range from 0° to 90° with estimating the heat transfer coefficient for the angles 0° and 90° from appropriate correlations. Besides, the present data were compared with some conventional heat transfer correlations.  相似文献

The effect on the γ-Al2O3-to-α-Al2O3 phase transition of adding divalent cations was investigated by differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffractometry, and surface-area measurements. The cations, Cu2+, Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Sr2+, and Ba2+, were added by impregnation, using the appropriate nitrate solution. These additives were classified into three groups, according to their effect: (1) those with an accelerating effect (Cu2+ and Mn2+), (2) those with little or no effect (Co2+, Ni2+, and Mg2+), and (3) those with a retarding effect (Ca2+, Sr2+, and Ba2+). The crystalline phase formed by reaction of the additive with γ-Al2O3 at high temperature was a spinel-type structure in groups (1) and (2) and a magnetoplumbite-type structure in group (3). In groups (2) and (3), a clear relationship was found between the transition temperature and the difference in ionic radius of Al3+ and the additive (Δ r ): The transition temperature increased as Δ r increased. This result indicates that additives with larger ionic radii are more effective in suppressing the diffusion of Al3+ and O2− in γ-Al2O3, suppressing the grain growth of γ-Al2O3, and retarding the transformation into α-Al2O3.  相似文献

Single-layer reticulated shell is sensitive to imperfections. To clarify the effect of member imperfection, nodal deviation and their couplings on load-carrying capacity of reticulated shell, the equivalent load method (ELM) is developed in the present study to establish single-layer reticulated shell with random member imperfection, and its realization procedures in FEM package are well-elaborated. The main conclusions are summarized as follows: the proposed ELM is of high efficiency to form member imperfection in space structures. For reticulated shell only with member imperfection, the limit load is more or less influenced by member imperfection. With the increase of amplitude of member bow imperfection, limit load gradually decreases. Load-carrying capacity of reticulated shell with larger amplitude of bowed member is more sensitive to bending direction of bowed member than the one with smaller amplitude. Load-carrying capacity of the reticulated shell considered is extremely sensitive to nodal deviation. For reticulated shell with nodal deviation and member imperfection, the effect of member imperfection on load-carrying capacity is closely related to the magnitude of nodal deviation. Load-carrying capacity of shell with smaller nodal deviation is obviously affected by member imperfection, while not sensitive to member imperfection for reticulated shell with larger one. Member imperfection can be neglected when nodal deviation is large enough. Load-carrying capacity of reticulated shell is also influenced by bending angle of bowed member. On the whole, load-carrying capacity of reticulated shell with larger amplitude of member imperfection is more sensitive to bending direction than the reticulated shell with smaller one.

The computer generation of multiple-object discriminant correlation filters is studied. The quantization of filter functions influences the correlation response. This may cause misdetection or incorrect classification of patterns and is especially serious in the case of multiple-object discriminant filters. We propose synthesizing the matched-filter functions by the simulated-annealing algorithm. The recording of Lohmann-type computer-generated holograms is considered. By this method the filter functions can be encoded with a reduction in the quantization levels of amplitude and phase. Acomputer simulation is performed, and the expected correlation responses are obtained.  相似文献

ZG16p is a soluble mammalian lectin that interacts with mannose and heparan sulfate. Here we describe detailed analysis of the interaction of human ZG16p with mycobacterial phosphatidylinositol mannosides (PIMs) by glycan microarray and NMR. Pathogen‐related glycan microarray analysis identified phosphatidylinositol mono‐ and di‐mannosides (PIM1 and PIM2) as novel ligand candidates of ZG16p. Saturation transfer difference (STD) NMR and transferred NOE experiments with chemically synthesized PIM glycans indicate that PIMs preferentially interact with ZG16p by using the mannose residues. The binding site of PIM was identified by chemical‐shift perturbation experiments with uniformly 15N‐labeled ZG16p. NMR results with docking simulations suggest a binding mode of ZG16p and PIM glycan; this will help to elucidate the physiological role of ZG16p.  相似文献

Little is known about the development of the olfactory organs of camel. In this study, prenatal development and neuronal differentiation of the vomeronasal organ (VNO) and the olfactory epithelium (OE) of the one‐humped camel were studied by immunohistochemistry and lectin histochemistry. A neuronal marker, protein gene product (PGP) 9.5, but not a marker of fully differentiated olfactory receptor cells, olfactory marker protein, intensely labeled the olfactory receptor cells of the VNO and OE at 395 mm, 510 mm, and 530 mm fetal ages, indicating that the olfactory receptor cells are differentiated, but not fully matured both in the VNO and the OE. In 187 mm and 190 mm fetuses, PGP 9.5 yielded faint immunoreactive signals in the VNO, but not in the OE, although the presence of olfactory receptor cells were demonstrated in both tissues by intense WGA and LEL stainings. We conclude that the camel VNO and OE bear differentiated, but still immature receptor cells; in addition, the onset of neuronal differentiation seems to be somewhat earlier in the VNO than in the OE till half of the prenatal life.
