The influence of the nuclear and electronic energy loss on the damage production in GaAs has been studied by Se+ ion implantation at Tb>I b> = 293 K with energies ranging from 2 MeV up to 20 MeV. The ion dose was varied between 5 × 1012 /cm2 and 1 × 1015 /cm2. The damage production was investigated using RBS in channeling regime. Temperature and energy dependent backscattering measurements and TEM investigations were performed to study the kind of defects in more detail. The resulting defect profiles are compared with the depth distribution of the nuclear and electronic energy loss which were simulated by TRIM 87. The results show that the remaining defect concentration strongly decreases with increasing implantation energy even if the same energy density is deposited into nuclear processes. We suppose, that the electronic energy loss increases the defect transformation and annealing during implantation at Tb>I b> = 293 K. The defects in the samples implanted with energies greater than 5 MeV are characterized as point defects, point defect clusters and small dislocation loops; the kind of defects are the same over the whole implantation depth and the existence of amorphous zones can be widely excluded. 相似文献

A cellular suspension from rat submandibular glands was prepared with collagenase. The intracellular pH (pHi) was estimated with 2',7'-bis-(2-carboxy-ethyl)-5(6)-carboxyfluorescein (BCECF). After exposure to NH4Cl, the pHi transiently increased (diffusion of NH3) and then dropped (influx of NH4+). Isoproterenol increased 2.5-fold the rate of NH4+ influx; bumetanide, an inhibitor of the Na+-K+-2Cl(-)-cotransporter blocked the response to isoproterenol, confirming that the beta-adrenergic agonist stimulated the cotransporter. Forskolin (1 micromol/L) mimicked the response to isoproterenol. VIP (1 nmol/L(-1) micromol/L) also increased the activity of the cotransporter. Cyclic AMP rather than calcium was the mediator of this activation since 1) carbachol which increased the [Ca2+]i fivefold increased the uptake of NH4+ by only 50%; 2) only high concentrations of VIP significantly increased the [Ca2+]i; 3) incubation in the presence of EGTA had no effect on the response to VIP; 4) low concentrations (nmol/L) of the neuropeptide increased the intracellular level of cAMP; and 5) the stimulation of the cotransporter by VIP, forskolin, and isoproterenol was inhibited by H8, an inhibitor of cAMP-dependent protein kinase. It is concluded that the Na+-K+-2Cl(-)-cotransporter of rat submandibular glands is activated by isoproterenol, forskolin, and neuropeptides of the VIP family by a mechanism involving cAMP-dependent processes. The activation of the cotransporter by VIP could partly explain the potentiating effect of VIP on the response to sialagogues like substance P or muscarinic agonists. 相似文献

Over the last ten years, several static biomechanical models have been developed to predict the strength capability of a population and to quantitatively identify physical acts required in highly stressful jobs. In applying static biomechanical models to a dynamic act, such as lifting, it is assumed that the effects of acceleration and momentum are negligible. A detailed dynamic biomechanical simulation of lifting psychophysically determined maximum loads showed that the compressive force at the low-back and peak task moments at various body joints were approximately two to three times greater than those based on a static biomechanical simulation. Compressive forces at the lumbosacral joint, estimated from the static biomechanical simulation, were within the “action limit,” while those forces estimated from the dynamic biomechanical simulation exceeded the “maximum permissible limit.” However, the predictions based on static biomechanical simulation were in general agreement with the psychophysical weight limits in determining the degree of risk involved with a given act of lifting. The resulting trade-offs between the static and dynamic biomechanical simulations of lifting are discussed. Calcium-substituted lanthanum manganite compounds were synthesized by the spray drying technique. This method—whose main advantages are versatility, high reproducibility and scalability—yields small grain materials of high homogeneity and displaying low-field magnetoresistance effects. We report about the physical and chemical characterizations of these samples in order to investigate the potential interest of spray drying for the production of materials for low-field magnetoresistance applications. We have studied the dependence of the low-field magnetoresistance on the temperature and duration of the thermal treatment applied to the pelletized powders. The current distribution in a parallel set of thin conducting sheets due to an external applied source is investigated. All sheets are placed in one plane. The source, and all excited fields, are time-harmonic. The frequency is low enough to allow for an electro quasi-static approximation (neglecting the displacement current). The conducting sheets are infinitely long and the current is uniform in the longitudinal direction of the sheets. The sheets have a thin rectangular cross-section, so thin that the current can be assumed uniform in the thickness-direction. Hence, the current distribution only depends on the transverse coordinate. Due to the mutual induction between the sheets, the current distribution over the width of the cross-section becomes non-uniform: it accumulates at the edges of the sheets. It is especially this so-called edge-effect, and its dependence on the applied frequency and the distances between the sheets, that is the aim of this investigation. From the Maxwell equations, a set of integral equations for the current distribution in the sheets is derived. These integral equations are solved, as far as possible by analytical means, by writing the current distribution in each sheet as a series of Legendre polynomials. The general method is worked out for N (N 1) sheets, but explicit results are presented for N=1 and 3. It turns out that the edge-effect becomes stronger for increasing frequencies. In this study short-term in vitro and in vivo biocompatibility apects of a biodegradable polyurethane (PU) foam were evaluated. The PU consists of hard urethane segments and amorphous soft segments based on a copolyester of dl-lactide and -caprolactone. The urethane segments are of uniform length and synthesized with 1,4-butanediisocyanate. The foam has good mechanical properties and will be used for tissue regeneration applications. Degradation tests were carried out in a buffer solution for twelve weeks. Cytotoxicity was determined using extract and direct contact test methods with incubation periods varying form 24 to 72 h. The foam was implanted subcutaneously for one, four and twelve weeks and the tissue response to the material was histologically evaluated.In vitro, the mass loss was 3.4% after twelve weeks. In the cytotoxicity tests the PU caused no abnormal growth behaviour, nor morphological changes or inhibition in metabolic activity. The in vivo studies showed no toxic tissue response to the PU. Connective tissue ingrowth, accompanied by vascular ingrowth was complete at twelve weeks. In vivo degradation had started within four to twelve weeks.In conclusion, the PU shows a good in vitro and in vivo biocompatibility in these short-term experiments. 相似文献
