In many fields, there is the need to monitor quality characteristics defined as the ratio of two random variables. The design and implementation of control charts directly monitoring the ratio stability is required for the continuous surveillance of these quality characteristics. In this paper, we propose two one‐sided exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) charts with subgroups having sample size n > 1 to monitor the ratio of two normal random variables. The optimal EWMA smoothing constants, control limits, and ARLs have been computed for different values of the in‐control ratio and correlation between the variables and are shown in several figures and tables to discuss the statistical performance of the proposed one‐sided EWMA charts. Both deterministic and random shift sizes have been considered to test the two one‐sided EWMA charts' sensitivity. The obtained results show that the proposed one‐sided EWMA control charts are more sensitive to process shifts than other charts already proposed in the literature. Many quality characteristics have means and standard deviations that are not independent. Instead, the standard deviations of these quality characteristics are proportional to their corresponding means. Thus, monitoring the coefficient of variation (CV), for these quality characteristics, using a control chart has gained remarkable attention in recent years. This paper presents a side sensitive group runs chart for the CV (called the SSGR CV chart). The implementation and optimization procedures of the proposed chart are presented. Two optimization procedures are developed, i.e. (i) by minimizing the average run length (ARL) when the shift size is deterministic and (ii) by minimizing the expected average run length (EARL) when the shift size is unknown. An application of the SSGR CV chart using a real dataset is also demonstrated. Additionally, the SSGR CV chart is compared with the Shewhart CV, runs rules CV, synthetic CV and exponentially weighted moving average CV charts by means of ARLs and standard deviation of the run lengths. The performance comparison is also conducted using EARLs when the shift size is unknown. In general, the SSGR CV chart surpasses the other charts under comparison, for most upward and downward CV shifts. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this work, we propose and study general inflated probability distributions that can be used for modelling and monitoring unusual count data. The considered models extend the well‐known zero‐inflated Poisson distribution because they allow the excess of values, other than zero. Four simple upper‐sided control schemes are considered for the monitoring of count data based on the proposed general inflated Poisson distributions, and their performance is evaluated under various out‐of‐control situations. Supercritical‐fluids science and technology predate all the approaches that are currently established for graphene production by several decades in advanced materials design. However, it has only recently been proposed as a plausible approach for graphene processing. Since then, supercritical fluids have emerged into contention as an alternative to existing technologies because of their scalability and versatility in processing graphene materials, which include composites, aerogels, and foams. Here, an overview is presented of such materials prepared through supercritical fluids from an advanced materials science standpoint, with a discussion on their fundamental properties and technological applications. The benefits of supercritical‐fluid processing over conventional liquid‐phase processing are presented. The benefits include not only better performances for advanced applications but also environmental issues associated with the synthesis process. Nevertheless, the limitations of supercritical‐fluid processing are also stressed, along with challenges that are still faced toward the achievement of the great expectations from graphene materials.  相似文献

The growing demand of flexible electronic devices is increasing the requirements of their power sources. The effect of bending in thin-film batteries is still not well understood. Here, we successfully developed a high active area flexible all-solid-state battery as a model system that consists of thin-film layers of Li4Ti5O12, LiPON, and Lithium deposited on a novel flexible ceramic substrate. A systematic study on the bending state and performance of the battery is presented. The battery withstands bending radii of at least 14 mm achieving 70% of the theoretical capacity. Here, we reveal that convex bending has a positive effect on battery capacity showing an average increase of 5.5%, whereas concave bending decreases the capacity by 4% in contrast with recent studies. We show that the change in capacity upon bending may well be associated to the Li-ion diffusion kinetic change through the electrode when different external forces are applied. Finally, an encapsulation scheme is presented allowing sufficient bending of the device and operation for at least 500 cycles in air. The results are meant to improve the understanding of the phenomena present in thin-film batteries while undergoing bending rather than showing improvements in battery performance and lifetime.  相似文献

Summary The configurational analysis of racemic and optically active stereoisomers of 4-[(1-methylpropyl)oxycarbonyl]-2-oxetanone has been carried out by using chiral gas chromatography. This technique has been successful in the stereoisomers composition determination of these -substituted -lactones prepared by two different routes and used as monomers in the preparation of malic acid stereocopolymers. Result are in good agreement with those obtained from high resolution 1H NMR, in the presence of an Europium salt, as chiral shift reagent. This method has been extended to 3-methyl-4-[(1,2,2-trimethyl propyl)oxycarbonyl]-2-oxetanone. The exact knowledge of precursors configurational structure is very important in regard to the obtention of the corresponding polystereoisomers with a strictly controlled enantiomeric or diastereoisomeric composition and consequently with predictable properties.  相似文献
