Distribution models for nonparametric tests for fit in verifying complicated hypotheses and maximum-likelihood estimators. Part 1

Complicated-hypothesis testing is considered when the scalar or vector parameters of the probability distribution are calculated for a single sample. In that case, various factors influence the distributions of the statistics for the nonparametric tests for fit of Kolmogorov, Cramer–Mises–Smirnov, and Anderson–Darling. Revised results are given (tables of the percentage points and distribution models) for nonparametric tests of fit for verifying complicated hypotheses concerning a series of distributions when one uses maximum-likelihood estimators.

Statistical simulation methods have been applied to the distributions of classical statistics used in testing hypotheses on variance in a series of samples. Electrical erosion resistance of refractory metal base composites

Conclusions An investigation into the electrical erosion resistance of powder metallurgy composites with heterogeneous structures has demonstrated that the extent of their wear under the action of pulse discharges is governed, other things being equal, by the strength of their refractory phase skeletons. Decontamination of liquid radioactive waste from transuranium elements and uranium by complexation with functionalized oligoethers, combined with ultrafiltration

Decontamination of liquid radioactive waste (LW) from transuranium elements (TUEs) and uranium by complexation with phosphorus-containing and guanidine phosphate oligoethers and by ultrafiltration was studied. The rejection coefficient of TUEs and U on these oligomers reaches 99.0–99.6% of the initial concentration.     

Three-dimensional inspection of grid spacers of fuel assemblies of nuclear reactors using diffractive optical elements

The method for inspecting grid spacers (GSs) using diffractive optical elements is considered. Synthesis of diffractive elements, calculation of projecting optics, and also adjustment and calibration of the measurement system are presented. Methods for processing images obtained on different GS elements are described.     

The power of goodness of fit tests for close alternatives

The power of a number of goodness of fit tests when checking simple and complex hypotheses is analyzed by statistical modeling methods. Estimates are given of the power of the tests when checking hypotheses of certain relatively close alternatives.
