A method to functionalize single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in a field-effect transistor (FET) device for the selective detection of heavy-metal ions is presented. In this method, peptide-modified polymers were electrochemically deposited onto SWNTs and the selective detection of metal ions was demonstrated by choosing appropriate peptide sequences. The signal transduction mechanism of the peptide-modified SWNT-FETs has also been studied.  相似文献

The impact of air contaminants such as sulfur compounds (SO2, H2S) and nitrogen compounds (NOx and NH3) was investigated using subscale fuel cells. The severity of the effect of these impurities varies depending on the contaminants. Among air contaminants, sulfur compounds cause the most severe performance loss due to decrease of available Pt sites for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). We found that sulfur compounds adsorbed on Pt surface tend to be oxidized to sulfate at 0.9 V and higher potentials. The cell performance can be recovered partially by excursions to high potentials due to increase of available Pt sites. Furthermore, flushing the cathode with high humidity gases results in almost complete recovery of the cell performance. We conclude that these recovery effects are due to oxidation/removal of the contaminants from the Pt surface.  相似文献

The degradation in performance of proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) under open circuit conditions was investigated. The oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) kinetic current density at 0.9 V was found to decrease from 36 to 4 mA cm−2 (geometric) without significant crossover increase or loss in the electrochemically active surface area. Cyclic voltammograms for the electrodes show characteristic changes, e.g. appearance of peaks at ∼0.2 V and shift of the onset of platinum oxide formation to higher potentials. It was identified that the large ORR kinetic decay has its origins in the reduction of available Pt sites due to adsorption of anions, which are postulated to be membrane decomposition products such as sulfate ions. Procedures carried out to condense water in the fuel cell led to the expulsion of anions out of the membrane electrode assembly (MEA) resulting in the partial recovery of ORR kinetic current density to 15 mA cm−2. In order to attain complete performance recovery of the catalyst, a more effective and practical method to flush out the anions is desirable.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new design method of discrete‐valued model predictive control for continuous‐time linear time‐invariant systems based on sum‐of‐absolute‐values (SOAV) optimization. The finite‐horizon discrete‐valued control design is formulated as an SOAV optimal control, which is an expansion of L1 optimal control. It is known that under the normality assumption, the SOAV optimal control exists and takes values in a fixed finite alphabet set if the initial state lies in a subset of the reachable set. In this paper, we analyze the existence and discreteness property for systems that do not necessarily satisfy the normality assumption. Then, we extend the finite‐horizon SOAV optimal control to infinite‐horizon model predictive control (MPC). We give sufficient conditions for the recursive feasibility and the stability of the MPC‐based feedback system in the presence of bounded noise. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

Anodizing of niobium has been investigated to develop niobium solid electrolytic capacitors. Chemically polished niobium specimens were anodized in a diluted phosphoric acid solution, initially galvanostatically at ia = 4 A m−2 up to Ea = 100 V, and then potentiostatically at Ea = 100 V for tpa = 43.2 ks. During the galvanostatic anodizing, the anode potential increased almost linearly with time, while, during potentiostatic anodizing, the anodic current decreased up to tpa = 3.6 ks, and then increased slowly before decreasing again after tpa = 30.0 ks. Images of FE-SEM and in situ AFM showed that nuclei of imperfections were formed at the ridge of cell structures before tpa = 3.6 ks. After formation, the imperfection nuclei grew, showing cracking and rolling-up of the anodic oxide film, and crystalline oxide was formed at the center of imperfections after tpa = 3.6 ks. The growth of imperfections caused increases in the anodic current between tpa = 3.6 and 30.0 ks. Long-term anodizing caused a coalescence of the imperfections, leading to decreases in the anodic current after tpa = 30.0 ks. As the imperfections grew, the dielectric dispersion of the anodic oxide films became serious, showing a bias voltage dependence of the parallel equivalent capacitance, Cp, and a dielectric dissipation factor, tan δ. The mechanism of formation and growth of the imperfections, and the correlation between the structure and dielectric properties of anodic oxide films is discussed.  相似文献

We report an application of nanoarea electron diffraction for structure determination of double-wall carbon nanotubes (DWNT) grown by catalytic chemical vapor deposition. The structures of 30 tubes were determined from experimental diffraction patterns. Among these tubes, the inner and outer wall structure of 18 tubes was precisely determined by comparison with kinematic electron diffraction simulations. For the structure of the DWNTs, our experiment revealed a mixture of semiconducting-metallic (S-M), S-S and M-M tubes. The spacing between the two walls ranges from 0.335 nm to 0.384 nm. Most DWNTs are incommensurate and chiral.  相似文献

The range of scene depths that appear focused in an image is known as the depth of field (DOF). Conventional cameras are limited by a fundamental trade-off between depth of field and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). For a dark scene, the aperture of the lens must be opened up to maintain SNR, which causes the DOF to reduce. Also, today's cameras have DOFs that correspond to a single slab that is perpendicular to the optical axis. In this paper, we present an imaging system that enables one to control the DOF in new and powerful ways. Our approach is to vary the position and/or orientation of the image detector during the integration time of a single photograph. Even when the detector motion is very small (tens of microns), a large range of scene depths (several meters) is captured, both in and out of focus. Our prototype camera uses a micro-actuator to translate the detector along the optical axis during image integration. Using this device, we demonstrate four applications of flexible DOF. First, we describe extended DOF where a large depth range is captured with a very wide aperture (low noise) but with nearly depth-independent defocus blur. Deconvolving a captured image with a single blur kernel gives an image with extended DOF and high SNR. Next, we show the capture of images with discontinuous DOFs. For instance, near and far objects can be imaged with sharpness, while objects in between are severely blurred. Third, we show that our camera can capture images with tilted DOFs (Scheimpflug imaging) without tilting the image detector. Finally, we demonstrate how our camera can be used to realize nonplanar DOFs. We believe flexible DOF imaging can open a new creative dimension in photography and lead to new capabilities in scientific imaging, vision, and graphics.  相似文献

Pneumatosis intestinalis (PI) is a rare disorder characterized by the gas within the intestinal mucosa. This is the first report methotrexate (MTX) induced PI under hemodialysis (HD) patient. A 46‐year‐old man suffered rheumatoid arthritis and underwent HD at local HD center. After the initial induction of MTX, the patient showed epigastralgia and diarrhea. He was referred to our hospital and abdominal computed tomography showed significant large intestinal edema and free intraperitoneal air consistent with PI. Physicians should aware that MTX is contraindication drug for chronic kidney disease and high‐flux HD may decrease MTX toxicity and oxidative stress, improving PI.  相似文献
