Behaviour of a series of lubricant oils and the effect of a non stoichiometric inorganic compound, as solid extreme pressure additive, on rolling fatigue life are studied using the rolling four-ball accelerated service simulation test proposed by Barwell and Scott. The results show, in all tested cases, the remarkable efficacy of this type of additive. The Total Acidity Number (tan) was found to increase with performance time for the case of the base lubricant, while for the oils with additives, it remained at its constant low value. This led to a proposal of a possible mechanism of the additive performance in the rolling process. 相似文献

An experimental investigation was carried out to examine the tribological behavior of NAO (non-asbestos organic) type brake linings containing different volume ratios of graphite and antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3). A scale dynamometer was used for friction tests and particular emphases were given to the effect of applied pressure, sliding speed, and temperature on the coefficient of friction according to the relative amounts of the two solid lubricants. Results showed that the brake linings with both solid lubricants exhibited better friction stability and less speed sensitivity than the friction materials containing a single solid lubricant. In particular, the brake lining containing higher concentrations of graphite showed better fade resistance than others during high-temperature friction test. 相似文献

合成了S—(1—(2—苯并噻唑基巯基)—2—羟基)—丙基N,N—二烷基二硫代氨基甲酸酯和S—(1—(2—苯并噻唑基巯基)—2—乙酰基)—丙基N,N—二烷基二硫代氨基甲酸酯两种化合物。运用IR、MS、HNMR和元素分析等分析方法对其结构进行表征。用四球试验、HQ—l环块试验分别考察了其对润滑油的极压承载能力及抗磨减摩性能的影响。结果表明:在350SN中性油中添加所合成的化合物后可以显著降低四球长磨后磨斑直径、有效地降低摩擦副之间的摩擦系数,拥有优良的摩擦学性能。 相似文献

Solid lubricants lead to substantial weight savings relative to the use of liquid lubricant, especially in the weight-conscious aerospace industry. A new PTFE-Al alloy composite(A) containing 60% area proportion of PTFE composite was developed. Another type of common metal-plastics multilayer composite, also called DU, was selected for a comparative investigation. Friction and wear tests were carried out in an oscillating sliding tribotester in air at an oscillating frequency of 0.13 Hz and contact mean pressures from 10 to 80 MPa. The composites slid against a 38CrMoAlA steel shaft. The results show that the composite A exhibits low coefficient of dry sliding friction less than 0.1 and long wear life of 2 000 m. This is because the composite A can provide a sufficient solid lubrication during the whole tests. SEM examination of the transfer films for the composite A confirms that uniform, thin and coherent transfer films are prerequisites for low friction and good wear resistance. 相似文献

The quality of machined components is currently of high interest, for the market demands mechanical components of increasingly high performance, not only from the standpoint of functionality but also from that of safety. Components produced through operations involving the removal of material display surface irregularities resulting not only from the action of the tool itself, but also from other factors that contribute to their superficial texture. This texture can exert a decisive influence on the application and performance of the machined component. This article analyzes the behavior of the minimum quantity lubricant (MQL) technique and compares it with the conventional cooling method. To this end, an optimized fluid application method was devised using a specially designed nozzle, by the authors, through which a minimum amount of oil is sprayed in a compressed air flow, thus meeting environmental requirements. This paper, therefore, explores and discusses the concept of the MQL in the grinding process. The performance of the MQL technique in the grinding process was evaluated based on an analysis of the surface integrity (roughness, residual stress, microstructure and microhardness). High-temperature wear characteristics between plasma spray coated piston rings and cylinder liners were investigated to find
the optimum combination of coating materials using the disc-on-plate reciprocating wear test in dry conditions. The disc and
plate represented the piston ring and the cylinder liner, respectively. Coating materials studied were Cr2O3-NiCr, Cr2O3-NiCr-Mo, and Cr3C2-NiCr-Mo. Plasma spray conditions for the coating materials were established adjusting stand-off distance to obtain a coating
with a porosity content of ∼5%. It was found that a dissimilar coating combination of Cr2O3-NiCr-Mo and Cr3C2-NiCr-Mo provided the best antiwear performance. The addition of molybdenum was found to be beneficial to improve the wear
resistance of the coating. Hardness differences between mating surfaces were also important factors in determining the wear
characteristics, so that it should be controlled below 300 in Vickers hardness under dry conditions. Adhesive wear accompanying
