The indentation technique has been used to measure the adhesion of plasma- sprayed ceramic coatings on metals intended for thick thermal barrier coating ( TTBC) applications. This approach provides the adhesion value as the critical strain energy release rate,Gc, of the interface, which also takes into account any residual stresses. The theoretical background of the method is outlined, and specific examples are reported with respect to the effect of substrate temperature on the metal/ceramic adhesion of thick TBCs.  相似文献

Fe-Al/WC intermetallic composite coatings were prepared by high velocity arc spraying (HVAS) technology on 20G steel and the oxidation performance of Fe-Al/WC composite coatings was studied. The results demonstrate that the kinetics curve of oxidation approximately follows the logarithmic law and the oxidation velocity of Fe-Al/WC composite coatings is less than that of 20G steel after 5 h. The composition of oxidized coating is mainly composed of Al2O3, Fe2O3, Fe3O4 and FeO. These phases distribute unevenly. The protective Al2O3 film firstly forms and preserves the coatings from further oxidation.  相似文献

In an ASZ/A384 Al composite, the interfacial reaction was observed to take place between the SiO2 binder layer and Mg within the matrix to form MgAl2O4 at the interface. Formation of MgAl2O4 at the interface between ASZ short fibers and the Al matrix alloy is believed to enhance the interfacial bonding strength, resulting in improved composite strength. However, the interfacial reaction in the ASZ/A384 Al proceeds at the expense of Mg in the matrix, resulting in a composite devoid of Mg bearing precipitates such as Al2CuMg and Mg2Si.  相似文献

Plasma spraying is used to produce most commercially available bioceramic coatings for dental implants; however, these coatings still contain some inadequacies. Two types of coatings produced by the high- velocity oxyfuel (HVOF) combustion spray process using commercially available hydroxyapatite (HA) and fluorapatite (FA) powders sprayed onto titanium were characterized to determine whether this relatively new coating process can be applied to bioceramic coatings. Diffuse reflectance Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, x- ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to characterize the composition, microstructure, and morphology of the coatings. The XRD and FTIR techniques revealed an apatitic structure for both HA and FA coatings. However, XRD patterns indicated some loss in crystallinity of the coatings due to the spraying process. Results from FTIR showed a loss in the intensity of the OH and F groups due to HVOF spraying; the phosphate groups, however, were still present. Analysis by SEM showed a coating morphology similar to that obtained with plasma spraying, with complete coverage of the titanium substrate. Interfacial SEM studies revealed an excellent coating-to-substrate apposition. These results indicate that with further optimization the HVOF thermal spray process may offer another method for producing bioceramic coatings.  相似文献

Further advances in Thermal Barrier Coating (TBC) design are linked with the evolution of numerical models for TBCs. The present paper, therefore, enhances the idea of a currently available FEM package (OOF) that has been designed for microstructural level simulations. The approach of Extended FEM (XFEM) is incorporated in an in-house developed program to account for the existence of cracks in TBCs; both for stress-strain analysis and for heat transfer analysis. The new XFEM program is then employed to carry out the analyses of a YSZ deposit and a multilayered TBC to predict the effective Young's moduli, the overall thermal conductivities, and to assess the fracture behavior of the coating.  相似文献

研究了TiB2含量对原位生成TiB2/Cu复合材料性能的影响。结果表明:TiB2/Cu复合材料的硬度、强度随TiB2含量的增加有所提高,但强度在TiB2的含量超过2.0%后有所下降,导电率随TiB2含量的增加有所下降,软化温度基本保持在900℃左右。  相似文献

This paper deals with the surfacing technology of ceramic anilox rolls. The rolls are used in the printing industry to transport the precisely determined quantity of ink in the flexographic printing machines. The technology of roll surfacing is discussed by taking the following aspects into account: preparation of the powder to spray the ceramic coating; thermal spraying of the duplex (bond coating and ceramic top coating); postspray finishing by grinding and polishing; and laser engraving. The powder used as the top coating of the aniloxes is chromium oxide. This powder might be prepared by such techniques as agglomeration, fusing, and crushing, etc. The preparation technique influences coating properties, such as microstructure (tested with SEM, OM, XRD, and XPS), open porosity, microhardness, and modulus of elasticity. Comparison of these properties enables optimum powder preparation techniques to be found. APS technique is used to coat the anilox rolls. Optimization of the plasma spraying parameters is discussed. Aniloxes are submitted to the grinding and polishing of the ceramic coating before laser engraving occurs. The final roughness of the finished coating is discussed in view of an optimum absorption of the laser light energy at engraving. Possible ways of reducing the spraying time are discussed, and future research toward improving the anilox roll quality is proposed.  相似文献
