阐述了CAPP的发展历程，并从不同角度对CAPP进行了分类。在分析国内外CAPP发展现状的基础上，提出了CAPP的“智能化”、“工具化”、“集成化”和“基于Internet全球化”等发展趋势。结合国内CAPP的应用现状，讨论了当前国内CAPP所面临的诸多问题：研究与开发有较大片面性；应用范围过于狭窄；对系统化、实用化、工程化研究重视不够；重表现形式，对工艺数据本身重视不够；工艺的规范化、标准化程度很低。     

基于自适应QoS保证的多媒体监控系统模型研究

分析分多媒体监控特点,认为多媒体流的QoS保证是一个重要的研究课题。提出了支持自适应QoS保证的嵌入式IP网络多媒体监控系统模型。QoS保证方案包括系统资源监测,网络带宽的预估计,借助PID算法实现多媒体自适应流的自调节,以及音频优先保证。实验表明,该模型结构简单,制定的QoS控制策略能够实时地对视音频参数进行动态调整,资源利用率高,图像传输流畅。

Managed Care: Implications for School Psychology. Comment.

Comments on the article by Sanchez and Turner (see record 2003-03405-005) examining the implications for practice and training in psychology in the era of managed care. The current author states that Sanchez and Turner should be commended. Their article amplifies and clarifies critical issues psychologists must consider while practicing within an era increasingly shaped by health insurance policies and practices. Nevertheless, the author feels that several intriguing facets of managed care were not highlighted. Discussion focuses on the impact that reimbursement and managed care is having on school (and clinical) psychologists. The author points out that it is unknown to what extent managed care may (and has) altered psychological services delivered by school psychologists. Steeling ourselves for the electric vehicle revolution

Abstract

The automotive industry is changing with ever increasing speed. The current economic and environmental pressures mean that the vehicles of tomorrow will be very different to those we drive today. As new technologies are developed to enable these changes, the materials industry must respond quickly to ensure that they are both manufacturable and cost effective, as well as deliver the performance required to drive the industry forward. This article aims to identify the key technology developments, the challenges that they face and how Tata Steel is helping to overcome them.     

A question of our marketing or our preconceptions: Commentary on the paper ‘A strategy for human factors/ergonomics: developing the discipline and profession’

The present paper is a commentary on the recently published IEA strategy for human factors/ergonomics (Dul, J., et al. (2012), A strategy for human factors/ergonomics: developing the discipline and profession. Ergonomics, 55(4), 377–395). Two main issues that demand attention are: (i) the way others understand our profession and discipline, and (ii) the way we understand our profession and added value to industry. First, it is advocated that the discussion on the future of human factors/ergonomics (HFE) should be focused more on the quality of the delivered value of HFE and less on its visibility and marketing. Second, the three fundamental characteristics of HFE, as proposed in the report, are discussed and the consequences of this proposal are further developed. Arguments are put forward on the endemic epistemological vagueness within the discipline and on the optimistic definition of its aim. Finally, a proposal is made at the epistemological level, which challenges some established convictions of the discipline. It is advocated that such an epistemological evolution may be necessary if HFE is to make progress towards contributing to system performance.

Practitioner Summary: The paper is a commentary on the IEA strategy for human factors/ergonomics. Issues discussed are, the way others understand our profession and the way we understand our profession and added value to industry. Some of the established convictions of the discipline are challenged and proposals are made to overcome these.     

U.S. regulatory perspectives on the back end of the fuel cycle: EUROSAFE 2013 proceeding

For the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the reactor licensees it regulates, there are a number of contemporary issues associated with the back end of the fuel cycle including, the agency's revision to its “Waste Confidence” decision and the path-forward for high-level waste disposal. Additionally, the 2012 Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future recommendations, the future of reprocessing, consolidated interim spent fuel storage, and maintaining technical competence within the NRC in challenging budgetary conditions are addressed. I conclude that there is confidence in the feasibility of safe storage of spent nuclear fuel following the licensed operational life of a reactor and any change in high-level waste policy will require Congressional action to amend the Nuclear Waste Policy Act.
