We present a particle-based method to simulate and visualize the interaction of knitwear with fluids. The knitwear is modeled using spring-mass systems and the fluid is modeled using the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method. Two-way coupling is achieved by considering surface tension, capillary, and interparticle forces between the fluid and knitwear. The simulation of fluid and knitwear particles is performed on the graphics processing unit. Photorealistic rendering of knitwear and fluid is achieved by using a hardware-accelerated rasterization-based rendering technique. Our method is able to simulate and visualize the macro- and microstructure of free-form knitwear and reflective and refractive characteristics of the fluid surface. 相似文献

In the present investigation, the effect of the most important process variables, which are teeter water velocity (TW) and pressure set point (SP), on the classification and beneficiation performance of a laboratory-scale teetered bed separator (TBS) was evaluated and discussed. Pure silica sand, magnetite concentrate and their artificial mixture were used to observe the effect of mineral density. Classification test results revealed that separation cut size linearly increases with increasing TW and SP. From the beneficiation studies and the size-by-size chemical analysis of artificial mixture, it can be concluded that significant removal of silica is possible by employing TBS. 相似文献

New cationic surfactants were synthesized by the quaternization of a number of straight-chain amide derivatives with triethylamine or pyridine. The corrosion inhibition tests of the surface-active compounds were performed at room temperature for 24 h on carbon steel coupons in acidic media using the gravimetric method. The acidic media used were 1.5 M HCl and 1.5 M H2SO4. Almost all of the synthesized cationic surfactants showed efficient inhibition of corrosion in the test. To establish the inhibition efficiencies of the inhibitors, surface characterization studies (contact angle measurements, SEM analysis and optical profilometer images) of the metal coupons used were performed. 相似文献

2,5-dimethylfuran (DMF) is a promising compound in the production of biofuel with high-quality properties. In this study, it is aimed to develop new efficient catalysts to synthesize DMF from 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF). Co, Mn/Co, and Ru/Co catalysts were prepared using the NaBH4 reduction method. The catalysts were subjected to activity tests for the hydrogenation of HMF to DMF by changing the reaction parameters, such as temperature and time. Mn/Co catalysts prepared from metal precursors at various molar ratios of Mn/Co were found to be effective in hydrogenation reactions of HMF to DMF. A 91.8% DMF yield was achieved in the presence of a Mn/Co (50/50) catalyst without noble metal at 180°C for 4 hours. The Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET) method, x-ray diffraction (XRD), x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and induction coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) techniques were used to characterize the efficient Mn/Co catalyst. 相似文献

A study has been undertaken to evaluate the similarities and differences between the steel building design specifications
used in the United States and Europe. Expressions for nominal strength presented in the AISC-360 Specification and the Eurocode
3 Specification were compared for fundamental limit states. In particular, rules for cross-section classification, tension
members, compression members, I-shaped members subjected to flexure, I-shaped members subjected to shear, and fasteners were
studied. Results of the investigation revealed that, in general, both specifications provide nominal capacities that are close
to each other. Significant differences were reported for some limit states such as flexure in I-shaped members with non-compact
flanges, shear and lateral torsional buckling in I-shaped members, and bearing strength at bolt holes. In this paper, the
details of the comparative study are presented along with observations that are useful for practicing engineers. 相似文献
