Performance analysis and overflowed traffic characterization in multiservice hierarchical wireless networks 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A cellular hierarchical network with heterogeneous traffic is considered, where calls with shorter (longer) average call-holding time are assigned to the associated lower (upper) layer. The main contribution of this paper is that an efficient and reasonably accurate analytical method is proposed to calculate performance measures of interest, i.e., new call-blocking probability and forced termination probability for conversational services, new call-blocking probability, forced termination probability, and the average number of assigned time slots for streaming services. In particular, a simple two-state MMPP/sup (1,2,...,K)/, that takes into account not only the dependence among overflowed calls of the same class but also the correlation among overflowed calls of different classes, is used to approximate overflowed traffic to reduce computational complexity and improve accuracy. The methods with the multiclass overflowed traffic being approximated as independent Poisson processes and interrupted Poisson processes are also conducted for comparison. Importantly, it is shown via simulation results that the proposed model generates more accurate results than those obtained with the other two approximation methods. Last but not least, the effect of nonuniform traffic density on performance measures is studied via simulation. It is shown that the nonuniform traffic density may have a significant impact on the performance. 相似文献

This paper presents a Z-source inverter system and control for general-purpose motor drives. The Z-source inverter system employs a unique LC network in the dc link and a small capacitor on the ac side of the diode front end. By controlling the shoot-through duty cycle, the Z-source can produce any desired output ac voltage, even greater than the line voltage. As a result, the new Z-source inverter system provides ride-through capability during voltage sags, reduces line harmonics, improves power factor and reliability, and extends output voltage range. Analysis, simulation, and experimental results will be presented to demonstrate these new features. 相似文献

We report a novel hybrid optical amplifier covering S+C+L bands with 105-nm total bandwidth using a silica fiber. The principle of amplification is based on the stimulated radiative transition of Er-ions for C-band and on the stimulated Raman scattering for S- and L-band, respectively. In this letter, we analyze the amplification characteristics for two types of active fiber mediums through numerical simulation. One is a silica fiber configured with Er-doped cladding and Ge-doped core and the other is a medium consisting of Er-doped fiber and dispersion-compensating fiber. By optimizing parameters such as fiber length and pump power, we newly achieve wide-band amplification with 105-nm bandwidth showing a flat gain characteristic over the entire S+C+L bands. 相似文献

We previously reported that, during the reactions to make nanocrystals of HfO2 and Hf‐rich HfxZr1 – xO2, a tetragonal‐to‐monoclinic phase transformation occurs that is accompanied by a shape change of the particles (faceted spherical to nanorods) when the temperature at which the reaction is conducted is changed from 340 to 400 °C. We now conclude that this concomitant phase and shape change is a result of the martensitic transformation of isolated nanocrystals in a hot liquid, where twinning plays a crucial role in accommodating the shape‐change‐induced strain. That such change was not observed during the reactions forming ZrO2 and Zr‐rich HfxZr1 – xO2 nanocrystals is attributed to the higher driving force needed in those instances compared to that needed for producing HfO2 and Hf‐rich HfxZr1 – xO2 nanocrystals. We also report here the post‐synthesis, heat‐induced phase transformation of HfxZr1 – xO2 (0 < x < 1) nanocrystals. As temperature increases, all the tetragonal nanocrystals transform to the monoclinic phase accompanied by an increase in particle size (as evidenced by X‐ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy), which confirms that there is a critical size for the phase transformation to occur. When the monoclinic nanorods are heated above a certain temperature the grains grow considerably; under certain conditions a small amount of tetragonal phase appears. 相似文献

Electrophosphorescent copolymers have been synthesized by covalent bonding of a red‐emitting osmium complex Os(bpftz), which contains two 3‐trifluoromethyl‐5‐(4‐tert‐butyl‐2‐pyridyl)triazolate (bpftz) cyclometalated ligands, into the backbone of a bipolar polyfluorene (PF) copolymer. Employing these copolymers, a highly efficient red polymer light‐emitting diode has been realised that has an external quantum efficiency of 18.0%, a maximum brightness of 38 000 cd m?2, and an emission centered at 618 nm. In addition, after incorporating appropriate amounts of green‐emitting benzothiadiazole (BT) and the aforementioned Os(bpftz) into the bipolar PF, an efficient white‐light electroluminescent polymer is obtained that displays simultaneous blue, green, and red emissions. 相似文献

We report on the significantly enhanced photoluminescence (PL) of hybrid double‐layered nanotubes (HDLNTs) consisting of poly(3‐methylthiophene) (P3MT) nanotubes with various doping levels enveloped by an inorganic, nickel (Ni) metal nanotube. From laser confocal microscopy PL experiments on a single strand of the doped‐P3MT nanotubes and of their HDLNTs, the PL peak intensity of the HDLNT systems increased remarkably up to ~350 times as the doping level of the P3MT nanotubes of the HDLNTs increased, which was confirmed by measurements of the quantum yield. In a comparison of the normalized ultraviolet and visible absorption spectra of the doped‐P3MT nanotubes and their HDLNTs, new absorption peaks corresponding to surface‐plasmon (SP) energy were created at 563 and 615 nm after the nanoscale Ni metal coating onto the P3MT nanotubes, and their intensity increased on increasing the doping level of the P3MT nanotube. The doping‐induced bipolaron peaks of the HDLNTs of doped‐P3MT/Ni were relatively reduced, compared with those of the doped‐P3MT nanotubes before the Ni coating, due to the charge‐transfer effect in the SP‐resonance (SPR) coupling. Both energy‐transfer and charge‐transfer effects due to SP resonance contributed to the very‐large enhancement of the PL efficiency of the doped‐P3MT‐based HDLNTs. 相似文献

A Hemoglobin‐CdTe‐CaCO3@polyelectrolyte 3D architecture is synthesized by a stepwise layer‐by‐layer method and is further used to fabricate an electrochemistry biosensor. While the calcium carbonate (CaCO3) microsphere acts as an effective host for the loading of cadmium telluride (CdTe) quantum dots due to its channel‐like structure, the polyelectrolyte layers further increase the loading amount and help in the formation of a thick and uniform quantum‐dot “shell”, which not only improves the stability of the spheres in water, but also contributes to the fast and effective direct electron transfer between the protein redox center and the macroscopic electrode. The materials are characterized and compared, and the possible mechanism for the direct electrochemistry phenomenon is hypothesized. Our work not only provides a facile and effective route for the preparation of quantum‐dot‐loaded spheres, but also sets an example of how the structure of functional materials can be tuned and related to their applications. In addition, it is one of the few examples of using CaCO3 microspheres in quantum‐dot loading and biosensing. 相似文献
