Object segmentation using graph cuts based active contours   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
In this paper we present a graph cuts based active contours (GCBAC) approach to object segmentation. GCBAC approach is a combination of the iterative deformation idea of active contours and the optimization tool of graph cuts. It differs from traditional active contours in that it uses graph cuts to iteratively deform the contour and its cost function is defined as the summation of edge weights on the cut. The resulting contour at each iteration is the global optimum within a contour neighborhood (CN) of the previous result. Since this iterative algorithm is shown to converge, the final contour is the global optimum within its own CN. The use of contour neighborhood alleviates the well-known bias of the minimum cut in favor of a shorter boundary. GCBAC approach easily extends to the segmentation of three and higher dimensional objects, and is suitable for interactive correction. Experimental results on selected data sets and performance analysis are provided.  相似文献

Numerical simulations are performed for the two-dimensional magneto-convective transport of Cu–H2O nanofluid in a vertical lid-driven square cavity in the presence of a heat-conducting and rotating circular cylinder. The left wall of the cavity is allowed to translate at a constant velocity in the vertically upward direction. Both left and right walls are maintained at isothermal but different temperatures. The top and bottom walls of the enclosure are thermally insulated. At the central region of the cavity is a heat-conducting circular cylinder which can rotate either clockwise or counterclockwise. A constant horizontal magnetic field of amplitude B0 is applied perpendicular to the vertical walls. The nanofluid is electrically conducting, while the solid walls are considered electrically insulated. Simulations are performed for various controlling parameters, such as Richardson number (0.01 ≤ Ri ≤ 10), Hartmann number (0 ≤ Ha ≤ 50), dimensionless rotational speed of the cylinder (Ω = ±1), and nanoparticle concentration (0 ≤ ? ≤ 0.3), while Reynolds number based on lid velocity is fixed at a specific value (Re = 100). The flow and thermal fields are found to be susceptible to changes in the magnetic field and mixed convective strength, as well as nanoparticle concentration. However, the direction of cylinder rotation is observed to have little or no influence quantitatively on global hydrodynamic and thermal parameters.  相似文献

The present study was carried out for the treatment of effluent from the chlorination and extraction stages of a bleach plant at an Indian pulp and paper mill. The effluents were taken from an integrated paper mill employing OCEOPHH sequence for the bleaching of hardwood pulp. Effluent was treated via ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF), and reverse osmosis (RO). Thin film composite spiral-wound modules, having cross flow membranes composed of polysulfone and polyamide, were used in the study. Three initial inlet pressures were used for the UF and NF; 6.8, 10.3, and 13.7 bar. For RO initial inlet pressures of 10.3 bar, 13.7 bar and 17.2 bar, were taken in different trials. The retentate from each experiment was recycled back to the feed and retreated until the inlet pressure increased to the maximum cut-of pressure for each membrane. The UF permeate was fed to the NF, which was subsequently fed to the RO. Variations in the trans-membrane pressure and permeate flux were assessed. The removal of pollutants and fouling indices were obtained for each membrane at each initial inlet pressure.  相似文献

Studies on traffic accidents among underage users of motorcycles are seldom seen in literature. This study was done in Yamunanagar, India where boys as young as 8 years ride motorcycles. It attempts to find out the behavioural and non-behavioural factors leading to motorcycle use and the predisposition to accidents among male school children aged between 10 and 16 years. A questionnaire was used to evaluate those factors among 1760 subjects in 38 schools. Fifteen percent of subjects had had an accident while riding motorcycle. Most of the behavioural and all the non-behavioural factors have a statistically significant influence on accident proneness. Aggressive behaviour and previous encounter with the police are the two strong predictors of accidents (p<0.001). Children as riders are exposed to higher risks of accident and longer life with disability. It also explains how these children behaviourally take up adult roles and seek adult risk taking attitudes. The implications of child motorcycle riders upon children themselves and on the society are discussed for a greater discourse on road safety motorcycle riding policy and to highlight the behavioural and non-behavioural factors that are associated with traffic accidents.  相似文献

Desiccant systems find applications in a very large variety of industrial and daily usage products including the new HVAC installations. An overview of liquid desiccant technology has been presented in this paper along with a compilation of experimental performance data of liquid desiccant dehumidifiers, empirical dehumidification effectiveness and mass transfer correlations in a useful and easy to read tabular format. The latest trends in this area suggest that hybrid systems are of current interest to HVAC industry, not only for high latent load applications but also for improving indoor air quality. The paper presents a comprehensive comparative parametric analysis of packed bed dehumidifiers for three commonly used desiccant materials viz. triethylene glycol, lithium chloride and calcium chloride, using empirical correlations for dehumidification effectiveness from the literature. The analysis reveals significant variations and anomalies in trends between the predictions by various correlations for the same operating conditions, and highlights the need for benchmarking the performance of desiccant dehumidifiers.  相似文献

The concept of solar heat gain factor has been introduced for calculating the net energy gain of passive heating elements and other components of a building as a result of incident solar radiation. For passive heating concepts (namely, the direct gain, mass wall, water wall, Trombe wall, and solarium), exact analytical expressions have been obtained for the solar heat gain factors and the corresponding overall heat loss coefficients. These will allow a building designer to calculate immediately the overall heat gain/loss in a building. Numerical calculations have been done for typical values of solar radiation and ambient temperature of typical climatic conditions in India. The method has been compared with the other methods reported in the literature so far. A good comparison is found between the earlier methods and the method of using solar gain factors and the corresponding heat transfer values.  相似文献

In this communication, a mathematical model has been developed to predict the performance of a shallow solar pond water heater with a heat exchanger. Explicit heat balance equations are written for the plate temperature and water tank temperature, as well as for the heat extracting fluid temperature, by properly taking into account the absorption of solar radiation in the body of pond water. It is seen that efficiencies may be achieved as high as 60% at water flow rates of 0.1 – 0.2 kg/s m2. Thereafter, the efficiency becomes almost constant at higher flow rates.  相似文献

This communication presents a simple transient model for predicting the thermal performance of collector/storage solar water heaters for generalised demand patterns. These heaters consist of either (i) an insulated rectangular metallic tank whose top surface is blackened and suitably glazed (i.e. a built-in storage solar water heater) or (ii) an insulated open shallow tank with black bottom.inner sides and a glass plate at the surface in contact with the water (i.e. a shallow solar pond water heater). The time dependence of the water temperature for the withdrawal of hot water from the system at constant flow rates constantly or intermittently has been explicitly evaluated. Numerical results for the operation of the system in industrial and community service applications are discussed.  相似文献

Atomically sharp epitaxial growth of Bi2Se3 films is achieved on Si(111) substrate with molecular beam epitaxy. Two-step growth process is found to be a key to achieve interfacial-layer-free epitaxial Bi2Se3 films on Si substrates. With a single-step high temperature growth, second phase clusters are formed at an early stage. On the other hand, with low temperature growth, the film tends to be disordered even in the absence of a second phase. With a low temperature initial growth followed by a high temperature growth, second-phase-free atomically sharp interface is obtained between Bi2Se3 and Si substrate, as verified by reflection high energy electron diffraction (RHEED), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction. The lattice constant of Bi2Se3 is observed to relax to its bulk value during the first quintuple layer according to RHEED analysis, implying the absence of strain from the substrate. TEM shows a fully epitaxial structure of Bi2Se3 film down to the first quintuple layer without any second phase or an amorphous layer.  相似文献

A series of poly(arylene ethynylene)s (PAEs) containing tbutyl pyrene in the main chain were synthesized for nitroaromatic sensors. As control, similar polymers containing unsubstituted pyrene were also synthesized. The sensory properties of the polymers were studied towards various nitroaromatic compounds like trinitrotoluene (TNT), dinitrotoluene (DNT), nitrotoluene (NT), nitrobenzene (NB) and picric acid (PA) in solution as well as vapor state. Interestingly, all the tbutyl substituted pyrene containing polymers showed higher sensitivity than the corresponding unsubstituted pyrene containing polymers. Moreover, the polymers showed high sensitivity towards TNT as compared to the other nitroaromatic compounds. The sensitivity of one of the polymer PB was found several folds higher than that of the similar reported polymer containing unsubstituted pyrene ring. In addition, tbutyl pyrene containing polymers were found to have improved molecular weight, thermal stability, fluorescence quantum yield, film forming properties and solubility in common organic solvents as compared to the control polymers.  相似文献
