Mg and Ca substituted silicon oxycarbides are investigated with respect to their network architecture, enthalpy of formation and bioactivity. The synthesized materials have highly connected structural network with an open architecture and a minor but critical fraction of depolymerized Q-species. This combination of structural features allows for providing bioactivity at the same time with enhanced thermo-mechanical robustness and crystallization resistance. It is argued that silicon oxycarbide amorphous ceramics may consequently serve as model compounds for developing rational design concepts for advanced bioactive glasses.  相似文献

Three-Dimensional Printing is a Solid-Freeform Fabrication process that creates parts out of powder by spreading layers into which binder is ink-jet printed to define the part geometry of that layer. By repetition of the process layer-by-layer, three-dimensional components of very complex geometry can be created. This paper describes key aspects of the application of Three-Dimensional Printing to the fabrication of metal tooling where surface finish, dimensional accuracy, wear resistance, and process complexity impose challenging constraints on materials selection and processing.  相似文献

This work focuses on silicon oxycarbide thin film preparation and characterization. The Taguchi method of experimental design was used to optimize the process of film deposition. The prepared ceramic thin films with a thickness of c. 500 nm were characterized concerning their morphology, composition, and electrical properties. The molecular structure of the preceramic polymers used for the preparation of the ceramic thin films as well as the thermomechanical properties of the resulting SiOC significantly influenced the quality of the ceramic films. Thus, an increase in the content of carbon was found beneficial for the preparation of crack-free thin films. The obtained ceramic films exhibited increased electrical conductivity as compared to monolithic SiOC of similar chemical composition. This was shown to correlate with the unique hierarchical microstructure of the SiOC films, which contain large oxygen-depleted particles, mainly consisting of highly graphitized carbon and SiC, homogeneously dispersed in an oxygen-containing amorphous matrix. The matrix was shown to also contain free carbon and to contribute to charge carrier transport between the highly conductive large particles. The ceramic thin films possess electrical conductivities in the range from 5.4 to 8.8 S/cm and may be suitable for implementation in miniaturized piezoresistive strain gauges.  相似文献

The mechanically controllable break-junction technique (MCBJ) enables us to investigate charge transport through an individually contacted and addressed molecule in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) environment at variable temperature ranging from room temperature down to 4 K. Using a statistical measurement and analysis approach, we acquire current-voltage (I-V) characteristics during the repeated formation, manipulation, and breaking of a molecular junction. At low temperatures, voltages accessing the first molecular orbitals in resonance can be applied, providing spectroscopic information about the junction's energy landscape, in particular about the molecular level alignment in respect to the Fermi energy of the electrodes. Thereby, we can investigate the non-linear transport properties of various types of functional molecules and explore their potential use as functional building blocks for future nano-electronics. An example will be given by the reversible and controllable switching between two distinct conductive states of a single molecule. As a proof-of-principle for functional molecular devices, a single-molecule memory element will be demonstrated.  相似文献

A joint transform correlator may suffer from overlapping of the zero diffraction order of the output, which does not contain relevant information, and the correlation peaks that appear in the first diffraction orders if objects are not sufficiently separated. Such overlapping significantly reduces the signal-to-noise ratio of the identification process. We propose a novel approach based on code division multiplexing technique in which the contrast of the identification peaks is significantly enhanced. The approach does not include placing the two objects side by side but rather includes code multiplexing them. Moreover, the code division multiplexing technique allows the space-bandwidth product to be improved. Optical implementation results are given.  相似文献

The development of a high frequency (> 50 MHz) annular array ultrasonic transducer is presented. The array was constructed by bonding a 9 microm P(VDF-TrFE) film to a two-sided polyimide flexible circuit with annuli electrodes on the top layer. Each annulus was separated by a 30 microm kerf and had several electroplated microvias that connected to electrode traces on the bottom side of the flex circuit. In order to improve device sensitivity, each element was electrically matched to an impedance magnitude of 50 omega and 0 degrees phase at resonance using a serial inductor and high impedance coaxial cable. The array's performance was evaluated by measuring the electrical impedance, pulse echo response, and cross talk between elements. The average round trip insertion loss was -33.5 dB after compensating for diffractive and attenuative losses. The measured average center frequency and bandwidth for an element was 55 MHz and 47%, respectively. The measured cross talk between adjacent elements remained below -29 dB at the center frequency in water. A vertical wire phantom was imaged using a single focus transmit beamformer and dynamic focusing receive beamformer. This image showed a significant improvement in lateral resolution over a range of 9 mm after the dynamic focusing receive algorithm was applied. These results correlated well with predictions from a Field II simulation. After beamforming, the minimum lateral resolution achieved by the array (-6 dB) was 108 microm at the focus.  相似文献

Solid freeform fabrication processes offer the manufacturing flexibility for tools with low thermal inertia and internal conformal channels for rapid thermal cycling in injection molding. This article analyzed each step of a rapid thermal cycling process and provided quantitative guidance for tooling design. The proposed design methodology was tested on a three‐dimensional (3D) printed benchmark tool with truss support. Rapid cooling test on the benchmark tool resulted in the mold time constant shorter than 2.3 s and the cavity temperature uniformity better than 3°C. Preliminary tests demonstrated the technical feasibility of using a solid freeform fabrication process to fabricate low thermal inertia tools for improved heat management in injection molding. POLYM.
