Implementation aspects of self-tuning regulators are discussed in the paper. There is a large discrepancy between simulation or academic algorithms and practical algorithms. In the idealized environment of simulations it is easy to get different types of adaptive algorithms to perform well. In practice the situation is quite opposite. The adaptive or self-tuning controller must be able to handle nonlinearities, unmodelled dynamics and unmodelled disturbances over a wide range of operating conditions. Some aspects of how to implement self-tuning controllers are discussed in the paper. This includes robustness, signal conditioning, parameter tracking, estimator wind-up, reset action and start-up. Different ways to use the prior knowledge about the process are also discussed.  相似文献

Lipoprotein triacylglycerol secretion was studied in isolated rat hepatocytes incubated with different albumin-bound fatty acids and labeled glycerol. The release of labeled triacylglycerol was stimulated more by unsaturated fatty acids than by saturated ones. When lipoprotein secretion was related to cell triacylglycerol synthesis, an effect of unsaturation was no longer observed. Instead the secretion rate, expressed in this manner, increased with increasing fatty acid chain length. For the first time, the secretion of molecular species of triacylglycerol has been studied. The distribution of labeled glycerol among different species was the same in the cells and in the secreted product, indicating that different triacylglycerols were secreted without selectivity. It is concluded that the fatty acid structure influences lipoprotein triacylglycerol secretion and it is emphasized that the effects observed depend on the method of quantitation of the secretion rate.  相似文献

Structural composites with a high content of renewable material were produced from natural fibres and an acrylated epoxidized soybean oil resin. Composites were prepared by spray impregnation followed by compression moulding at elevated temperature. The resulting composites had good mechanical properties in terms of tensile strength and flexural strength. Tensile testing as well as dynamical mechanical thermal analysis showed that increasing the fibre content, increased the mechanical properties. The resin can be reinforced with up to 70 wt % fibre without sacrifice in processability. The tensile modulus ranged between 5.8 and 9.7 GPa depending on the type of fibre mat. The study of the adhesion by low vacuum scanning electron microscopy shows that the fibres are well impregnated in the matrix. The aging properties were finally evaluated. This study shows that composites with a very high content of renewable constituents can be produced from soy bean oil resins and natural fibres. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The micro level behavioral foundation for how quality reviews of experts and word of mouth (WOM) affect demand for experience goods has received scant attention in previous research. Taking an experimental approach, the present study examines how quality reviews and peer recommendations influence consumers’ decisions to buy red wine. Four main findings are presented for a sample of Norwegian wine consumers. First, consumers prefer wines that have obtained very good quality reviews to wines getting OK quality reviews. Second, consumers prefer peer-recommended wines to non-recommended wines. Third, the effect of a very good quality review is greater for non-recommended wines than for peer-recommended wines. Fourth, some of these effects on wine buying decisions are contingent on price level, and there is also some heterogeneity to their magnitude. The results are mainly in concert with the proposed hypotheses.  相似文献

Rolling contact fatigue cracks and thermally induced defects are common problems in the railway industry especially as demands for increasing loads, speeds, and safety continue to rise. Often, the two types of defects are found together in the field, however, whether one causes the other to occur is not completely agreed upon. The effect of thermal damage, in the form of a martensite spot on pearlitic steel test bars, on the fatigue life in uniaxial low cycle fatigue experiments was investigated by the authors. However, the focus of the current work was to characterize the damage evolution from the low cycle fatigue (LCF) tests and correlate the crack initiation and propagation with the initial thermal damage. Residual stress measurements, digital image correlation, and X‐ray tomography were used to characterize the effects of the thermal damage before, during, and after fatigue testing, respectively. It was found that the thermal damage causes strain accumulation and crack initiation at the interface between the two materials. The strain evolution was visualized using digital image correlation (DIC), clearly showing the strain concentrations at the top and bottom of the white etching layers (WEL), where the residual stresses are also most tensile. X‐ray tomography confirmed the planar crack growth from the martensite spot.  相似文献
