The mechanosynthesis of piezoelectric perovskite 0.92Pb(Zn1/3 Nb2/3 )O3 –0.08PbTiO3 (PZN–PT) by direct mechanochemical activation of the constituent oxides has been studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). This and the PbO flux method are the only two procedures that have succeeded in synthesizing this phase, which has recently been shown to present very high electromechanical response. The thermal stability of the single perovskite phase powders has been studied by differential thermal analysis/thermogravimetry and by high-temperature XRD as a function of mechanical activation time and pressure. The phase was found to transform into a pyrochlore type structure at temperatures above 400°C. The transformation presented a significant time dependence, and it was slowed down by increasing mechanical activation time and by the application of pressures by hot pressing. Sintering experiments were accomplished and 85% density, 77% perovskite-phase ceramics were obtained after heating at 1000°C for 1 h. Hot pressing at this temperature failed to increase the percentage of perovskite phase. Results are discussed, and procedures for obtaining dense single-phase PZN–PT-based ceramics with ultrahigh piezoelectricity are proposed. 相似文献

A novel algorithm to reproduce the arrangement of grains in polycrystalline materials was recently published by the authors. In this original approach, a dense package of circles (or spheres) with the same distribution as the grains is generated to produce a set of Voronoi cells that are later modified to Laguerre cells representing the original structure. This algorithm was successfully applied to materials with somewhat equidimensional grains; however, it fails for long-shaped grains. In this paper, modifications are provided in order to overcome these drawbacks. This is accomplished by moving each vertex of the Voronoi cells in such a way that the vertex should be equidistant from the particles with respect to the Euclidean distance. The algorithm is applied to packages of ellipses and spherocylinders in 2D. An example for a package of spheres is also provided to illustrate the application for a simple 3D case. The adherence between the generated packages and the corresponding tessellations is verified by means of the Jaccard coefficient (J). Several packages are generated randomly and the distribution of J coefficients is investigated. The obtained values satisfy the theoretical restraints and the quality of the proposed algorithm is statistically validated. 相似文献

The viscosity of Zn–Al alloys melts, with industrial interest, was measured for temperatures between 693 K and 915 K, with an oscillating cup viscometer, and estimated expanded uncertainties between 3 and 5?%, depending on the alloy. The influence of minor components, such as Si, Mg and Ce?+?La, on the viscosity of the alloys is discussed. An increase in the amount of Mg triggers complex melt/solidification processes while the addition of Ce and La renders alloys viscosity almost temperature independent. Furthermore, increases in Al and Si contents decrease melts viscosity and lead to an Arrhenius type behavior. This paper complements a previous study describing the viscosity of Zn–Al alloys with quasi-eutectic compositions. 相似文献

We consider, in discrete time, a single unit system which operates for a period of time represented by a general distribution. This unit is subjected to failures during operations. Some of these failures are repairable and the unit is repaired in the repair facility. When the unit experiences a non-repairable failure then it has to be replaced with a new one. We consider a replacement policy based on the lifetime of the unit. This policy can be studied from two different approaches. The first approach, named Model I, is to replace the unit by a new one when the unit attains a predetermined lifetime. The other approach, named Model II, is to close repair facility when the lifetime of the unit attains a predetermined quantity. This paper discusses the effect of porosity and hydrostatic pressure on diffusion kinetics and equilibrium water uptake in a semicrystalline fluoropolymer. Water sorption experiments at atmospheric pressure and under water pressures up to 250 MPa were carried out during 18 months at 40 °C on reference and porous samples. Porosity of samples was induced due to a cavitation process occurring at the highest triaxiality area of waisted and notched specimens during tensile tests. Water uptake was found to be very sensitive to porosity, showing an increase in samples with a high void fraction. On the other hand, water content decreased with increasing pressure suggesting a compaction of the porous space in which water can be stored. Two models describing this water uptake behaviour were considered. The first is a classical model which assumes that sorption occurs only by diffusion following Fick’s law. Fick’s model was found to be in agreement with the experimental results. A “Langmuir-type” sorption model was also proposed to describe water uptake in porous samples, considering a two-phase water transport mechanism: one portion of the absorbed water diffuses through the polymer matrix and the other portion is stored in voids. This model was implemented in a user subroutine using ABAQUS? software and simulations were confronted to experimental sorption curves showing satisfactory agreements. The potential of the Langmuir-type sorption model resides on its availability to be coupled to a poro-mechanical model, in order to improve the understanding of coupling between the mechanical behaviour and water sorption mechanism in a porous polymer. 相似文献

River management based solely on physical science has proven to be unsustainable and unsuccessful, evidenced by the fact that the problems this approach intended to solve (e.g., flood hazards, water scarcity, and channel instability) have not been solved and long‐term deterioration in river environments has reduced the capacity of rivers to continue meeting the needs of society. In response, there has been a paradigm shift in management over the past few decades, towards river restoration. But the ecological, morphological, and societal benefits of river restoration have, on the whole, been disappointing. We believe that this stems from the fact that restoration overrelies on the same physical analyses and approaches, with flowing water still regarded as the universally predominant driver of channel form and structural intervention seen as essential to influencing fluvial processes. We argue that if river restoration is to reverse long‐standing declines in river functions, it is necessary to recognize the influence of biology on river forms and processes and re‐envisage what it means to restore a river. This entails shifting the focus of river restoration from designing and constructing stable channels that mimic natural forms to reconnecting streams within balanced and healthy biomes, and so levering the power of biology to influence river processes. The development of a skin substitute suitable for immediately performing the function of the lost dermis and epidermis could result in a positive impact on the treatment of patients with extensive skin lesions. A biopolymer film was applied to skin wounds to investigate the biocompatibility and cutaneous reaction and to test its activity as a mechanical barrier and conductor in the healing process. Forty Wistar rats of both sexes were used in the present study. Two excisions were performed in the dorsal part of the skin flaps. The polysaccharide film was applied over one of the incisions and other incision was washed with saline. The time spent for complete healing of both lesions was virtually the same in both groups, during 21 days of observation. The film remained attached to the bed of the exposed wound for an average period of 6 days. There were no statistically significant differences with regard to lesion measurement area at assessment times of 2nd, 7th and 14th postoperative days. At day 21, the scar area showed a significant difference (0.0229). After 40 days, all wounds were completely healed. No statistically significant differences were found between the histological parameters assessed in the experimental and control groups. The cellulosic polysaccharide film integrated well with the tissue showing high biocompatibility and low skin reactivity. 相似文献

This paper shows that an important part of the power consumption of a biquad band‐pass filter is associated with the feedback loop that fixes the high‐pass frequency and blocks the direct current (dc) input signals. The dc input amplitude that can be blocked is related to the maximum output current that one of the transconductors can provide, hence impacting on the required consumption through this effect. Then, a technique that efficiently blocks the dc input signal and fixes the high‐pass frequency is introduced and analyzed in depth. Moreover, an architecture for ultra‐low‐power differential‐input biquads is fully presented. The proposed architecture enables lowering the power consumption or blocking higher levels of dc input without jeopardizing the power consumption. Results show that the proposed architecture, compared with a traditional one, presents a 30% reduction in power consumption and more than doubles the dc input that can be blocked.
