Drug shortages continue to pose a significant threat to public health and safety. Drug shortages not only worsen patient outcomes, but also significantly burden healthcare systems with additional costs. This study aimed to assess community pharmacy staff knowledge, opinion, and practice toward drug shortages in Saudi Arabia from November 2019 to March 2020. This was a cross-sectional study carried out among 1,008 community pharmacists from Saudi Arabia using a validated, self-administered and Internet-based survey. Analysis was done using chi square and fisher exact tests. Most participants were males (97.2%), less than 30 years old (48.1%), and non-Saudi citizens (94.4%), and 72.0% had good knowledge of drug shortages (score = 4–5). Around 36.0% reported that it takes 1–3 days to receive a response to the shortage report. There was a statistically significant association between the professional level of the community pharmacists and their opinion about reporting drug shortages (P < .05). Most community pharmacies (56.2%) did not receive any notification about drug shortages. In conclusion, most community pharmacists are knowledgeable and have good practice regarding drug shortages, but their opinions about drug shortages differ according to each pharmacy reporting policy. 相似文献

Mesoblastic nephroma is the most frequent renal tumor in newborns and young infants, and the cellular type is characterized by an ETV6–NTRK fusion, which constitutively activates the tropomyosin‐related kinase (TRK) signaling pathway. Larotrectinib is a highly selective TRK inhibitor with activity in adult and pediatric patients who have TRK fusions. We present a rare case of a patient with mesoblastic nephroma metastatic to bone who had a dramatic response to larotrectinib. 相似文献

ObjectivesTo investigate canine retraction (CR) and anchorage loss (AL) among average facial height (AFH) and high facial height subjects (HFH) with or without piezocision surgery (PS).Materials and MethodsThis was a split-mouth, randomized clinical trial. Twenty-three females (aged 19.05 ± 2.95 years) who presented with Class II division I malocclusion requiring bilateral maxillary extraction and who fulfilled eligibility criteria were included and categorized into two groups: AFH (12 participants) and HFH (11 participants). Atraumatic extractions were performed 10 weeks following bonding. Before space closure, impressions were taken to fabricate models, which were scanned to generate digital models. Each participant had PS on the randomly assigned side. Space closure was undertaken using 100-g nickel-titanium coil closing springs on 0.019 × 0.025-inch stainless steel archwire. Digital models were collected 6 and 12 weeks post-PS. They were superimposed using reliable reference points and a region of interest on the palate, and crown movements were analyzed in three dimensions.ResultsThree months post-PS, intergroup comparisons showed that rates of CR for control sides (mean = 1.88 ± 0.83 mm for AFH, mean = 1.76 ± 0.62 mm for HFH) and intervention sides (mean = 1.48 ± 0.74 mm for AFH, mean = 1.40 ± 0.85 mm for HFH) were not significantly different. AL was not significantly different (P > .05) between groups.ConclusionRegardless of whether the patient underwent PS, CR and AL rates for AFH and HFH patients were not significantly different. 相似文献

Objective
The objective of this study was to determine average improvement during the rest and active mouth opening after ultrasound guided platelets rich plasma injection in the tempromandibular superior joint space for the patients complaining from non-reducing disk displacement.Patients and Methods
Thirty-four patients with non-reducing disk displacement underwent guided ultrasound injection of platelet rich plasma to the upper joint space. The extent of maximal mouth opening, chewing efficiency, sound intensity of the TMJ, and tenderness of the TMJ and the masticatory muscles at rest, motion and mastication were thoroughly assessed at the beginning of the study and scheduled for next follow-up at 1st, 3rd, and 6th months. Results
Injection with platelets rich plasma was significantly more effective in improvements of the extent of maximal mouth opening, statistics result demonstrated a significant reduction in the VAS values of pain at rest, motion and mastication compared to the baseline VAS values. Conclusion
PRP injection to the upper temporomandibular joint space provided improvement in signs and symptoms of patient with non-reducing disk displacement of the temporomandibular joint.39.

Esthetic considerations are a significant contributing factor in the management of prosthodontic cases and an interdisciplinary approach is often necessary to achieve an optimal result. The visible soft‐tissue architecture plays a key role in developing an esthetic smile. Furthermore, an understanding of the relationship between the restorative margin and the gingiva is important for long‐term stability of the result. The gingival architecture and gingival health are important for ensuring optimal esthetics following prosthodontic work and close attention to both soft and hard tissues around the teeth, before, during and after restorative procedures, will greatly improve the likelihood of a successful outcome. Moreover, knowing the options available in periodontal plastic surgery is important in esthetic dentistry today. The relevant literature related to restorative and surgical procedures when performing esthetic dentistry are reviewed in this article, and different approaches are illustrated with appropriate cases to explain the treatment approach that was utilized to improve the esthetic appearance of the case. 相似文献
