The aim of the work reported here was to investigate temperature‐ and pH‐sensitive hydrogels of N‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) and itaconic acid (IA) and their semi‐interpenetrating polymer networks (semi‐IPNs) with varying contents of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG). The stimuli responsiveness, swelling behaviour and mechanical properties of the hydrogels and semi‐IPNs were studied in order to investigate the effect of various amounts of PEG. Pulsed‐gradient spin‐echo NMR experiments were carried out to investigate the diffusion process. The pH sensitivity increased with an increasing amount of PEG in the semi‐IPNs, while the overall rate of water uptake was diffusion‐controlled (n < 0.5). For certain PEG contents (5 and 10 wt%), the semi‐IPNs exhibited better mechanical properties than the poly(NIPAM‐co‐IA) copolymer. The calculated values of the self‐diffusion coefficients of water indicated facilitated diffusion of water through the system with increased amounts of PEG, while the self‐diffusion coefficients of a model compound, metoprolol tartrate, showed no significant dependence on the amount of PEG. According to the results obtained and compared to results reported in the literature, the investigated semi‐IPNs may have potential applications in the controlled release of macromolecular active agents such as proteins and peptides. Summary Macromonomeric peroxy initiator, poly tetrahydrofuran (poly-THF=inimer) were synthesized via cationic polymerization of THF by the mono- (t-BuBP) and tetra-bromo methyl benzoyl peroxides (BDBP)/ZnCl2 initiating system. The macromonomers were characterized by 1H-NMR, IR, and GPC techniques. Methyl methacrylate (MMA) polymerization initiated by poly-THF inimers at 80°C and different times in bulk gave crosslinked poly-THF-b-polymethyl methacrylate block copolymers. Swelling ratios of the crosslinked block copolymers obtained by taking in same amounts of poly-THF inimer and MMA monomer in CHCl3 were decreased versus time. It was compared the results obtained from t-BuBP-, BDBP-ZnCl2 initiating systems with t-BuBP-, BDBP-AgSbF6 initiating systems for THF monomer. Poly(THF-b-MMA) crosslinked block copolymers containing undecomposed peroxide groups initiated the thermal polymerization of styrene, S, were used to obtain poly(THF-b-MMA-b-S) crosslinked multicomponent copolymers at 90°C. The crosslinked multi component copolymers were investigated sol-gel analysis and swelling ratios in CHCl3. "Active" poly(THF-b-MMA) having peroxygen group were used in the free radical coupling reaction of poly butadien (Poly Bd). Effective formal verification tools require that robust implementations of automatic procedures for first-order logic and satisfiability modulo theories be integrated into expressive interactive frameworks for logical deduction, such as higher-order logic theorem provers. This paper states some pragmatic requirements for implementations of decision procedures that make them well-suited to integration into such frameworks. The aim is to open a dialogue with the designers of decision procedure software that will lead to greater and easier uptake of their implementations by verification users.  相似文献

Cottonseed and soybean oils were partially hydrogenated using various commercial nickel catalysts. Methods were investigated by which commercial catalysts can be changed with respect to the rate of reaction, selectivity ortrans-isomerization during hydrogenation of the oils. Catalysts which were treated with hydrogen sulfide produce considerably moretrans isomers but catalysts treated with air often cause higher selectivity ratios. The authors report of three cases of medullary carcinoma of the thyroid and, from a review of the literature, study the definition, frequency, embryological and etiological characteristics of this disease. The physiology of thyrocalcitonin, the concept of the APUD system the secretion of active substances by the tumour cells are considered. The macroscopic and microscopic characteristics and its mode of spread are described. The two main clinical forms, the sporadic form and the familial form are described together with the other endocrine involvements. Among the factors in positive diagnosis, accent is placed on per-operative histological examination and on biological tests of familial detection. Among the forms of treatment the essential place of surgery explains partly the relatively favourable course and prognosis of the malignant disease.  相似文献

Ultrasound-modulated optical tomography of thick biological tissues was studied based on speckle-contrast detection. Speckle decorrelation was investigated with biological tissue samples of various thicknesses. Images of optically absorbing objects buried in biological tissue samples with thicknesses up to 50 mm were obtained in a transmission-detection configuration. The image contrast was more than 30%, and the spatial resolution was approximately 2 mm. In addition, a side-detection scheme along with two specific configurations were examined, and the advantages were demonstrated. Experimental results implied feasibility of applying the ultrasound-modulation technique to characterize optical properties in inhomogeneous biological tissues.  相似文献

One binary ZnAl27- and five ZnAl27-based ternary alloys containing 1–5% Cu were produced by permanent mould casting. Their friction and wear properties were examined using a block-on-ring test machine after determining their hardness and tensile strength. It was observed that the hardness and tensile strength of the ZnAl27-based ternary alloys increased with increasing copper content up to 2% due to solid-solution hardening, above which their tensile strength decreased, while hardness continued to increase. This is attributed to the formation of copper-rich and T phases, which reduce the solid-solution hardening of the alloys. It was found that the wear volume loss of the ZnAl27-based alloys decreased with increasing copper content up to 2% but showed a small increase above this level. Therefore, it was concluded that the wear resistance of ZnAl27-based alloys containing 1 to 5% Cu correlates well with their tensile strength. In addition, smearing and scratches were found to be the main features of the wear surfaces of the ZnAl27-based alloys under static loading and lubricated sliding conditions.  相似文献

The crystallization kinetics and phase transformation of a transparent Tb3+-doped lithium–aluminum phosphate glass, prepared by melt quenching, were investigated. The energy associated to the glass transition and the crystallization parameters (activation energy for crystallization and Avrami exponent) were evaluated by different methods using the experimental data obtained by differential thermal analysis performed at different heating rates. Using an isoconversional method to determine the change of the activation energy for crystallization with the fraction of crystallization, it was verified that with the increase in the fraction of crystallization from 0.1 to 0.9, the value of the activation energy decreased slightly from ~370 to ~310 kJ mol?1 and that the Avrami exponent varied from 0.8 to 1, suggesting a surface crystal growth mechanism. Observation of the microstructural evolution of heat-treated glass samples confirmed a surface crystallization process revealing spherulitic crystals constituted mainly by aluminum metaphosphate.  相似文献
