The growth of Staphylococcus aureus inoculated onto poultry meat was investigated under different incubation periods and temperature patterns. Transfer of this microorganism to surface materials and their disinfection was also evaluated. The evaluation of transfer was carried out by placing the contaminated meat cubes on stainless steel and polyethylene surfaces for 10 s and 10 min each, and the surfaces were disinfected with 0.5% chlorhexidine digluconate (CHXdG) for 1 and 10 min each. After 24 h, there was a significant increase of the bacteria count at 20 °C, but not at temperatures between 7 and 15 °C. Significant counts of S. aureus were transferred after a few seconds of contact of the cubes with both materials, and significant differences of transferred cell counts were not detected among the surface materials or durations of contact. The CHXdG solution was able to inactivate all the transferred cells after 10 min of exposure; however, the same result was not observed with 1-min exposure. The time of contact and the type of surface material did not influence the quantity of the transferred cells. The 0.5% CHXdG solution was effective for the disinfection of the contaminated surfaces without previous cleaning.  相似文献

Antimicrobial films were formed by the incorporation of nisin (NI), natamycin (NA) and a combination of both (NI + NA) into cellulose polymer. Film efficacies were evaluated in vitro against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538, Listeria monocytogenes ATCC 15313, Penicillium sp. and Geotrichum sp. The films were also evaluated on sliced mozzarella cheese against moulds and yeasts, Staphylococcus sp. and psychrotrophic bacteria. Mechanical and microscopic properties of the films and the diffusion of the antimicrobial agents from the film to the cheese were also evaluated. Films containing NI showed an antimicrobial effect in vitro against S. aureus and L. monocytogenes, while films containing NA were effective in vitro against Penicillium sp. and Geotrichum sp. By the ninth day of storage at 12 ± 2°C, the count of yeasts and moulds on cheese covered with films containing NA decreased 2 log10 units compared with the count on cheese with control films. NI film did not show an effect against Staphylococcus sp., but it was effective against psychrotrophic bacteria for 6 days of storage of the cheese. The incorporation of antimicrobial compounds decreased the resistance and elongation of the films and caused changes in their molecular conformation. NI diffusion from the films to the cheese was not detected; however, time‐dependent diffusion of NA from the film containing NI + NA was measured. The incorporation of NI and NA together in the films did not show an effect. The film containing NA showed potential for application as active food packaging for sliced mozzarella cheese. The effects of temperature, hydraulic retention time (HRT), and the redox mediator, anthraquinone-2,6-disulfonate (AQDS), on electron transfer and subsequent reductive decolorization of dyes from textile wastewater was assessed in mesophilic and thermophilic anaerobic bioreactors. The results clearly show that compared to mesophilic anaerobic treatment, thermophilic treatment at 55 degrees C is an effective approach for increasing the electron transfer capacity in bioreactors, and thus improving the decolorization rates. At an HRT of 2.5 h and in the absence of AQDS, the color removal was 5.3-fold higher at 55 degrees C compared to 30 degrees C. Furthermore, similar decolorizations were found at 55 degrees C between the AQDS-free and AQDS-supplemented reactors, whereas a significant difference (up to 3.6-fold) on dye reduction occurred at 30 degrees C.  相似文献

This paper traces the development of a software tool, based on a combination of artificial neural networks (ANN) and a few process equations, aiming to serve as a backup operation instrument in the reference generation for real-time controllers of a steel tandem cold mill. By emulating the mathematical model responsible for generating presets under normal operational conditions, the system works as an option to maintain plant operation in the event of a failure in the processing unit that executes the mathematical model. The system, built from the production data collected over six years of plant operation, steered to the replacement of the former backup operation mode (based on a lookup table), which degraded both product quality and plant productivity. The study showed that ANN are appropriated tools for the intended purpose and that by this instrument it is possible to achieve nearly the totality of the presets needed by this kind of process. The text characterizes the problem, relates the investigated options to solve it, justifies the choice of the ANN approach, describes the methodology and system implementation and, finally, shows and discusses the attained results.  相似文献

The eutectic alloy Al3(Nb,Cr) + Cr(Al,Nb) forms an in situ composite and the Al3Nb presents high specific strength and low oxidation rate that may be improved by the combination with other phases. The purpose of this work is to investigate physical, mechanical and oxidation properties of the eutectic alloy. Therefore, Rietveld analysis was carried out for furnace cooled and water quenched samples and oxidation tests were performed on directional solidified samples. Compressive tests were performed for the eutectic alloy and also for the Nb–74.8% Cr–24.6% Al alloy in the as-cast condition. The alloy presents 12.9% Cr(Al,Nb) at room temperature, retained from the transformation Cr(Al,Nb) to Al(Nb)Cr2. The combination of Al3Nb with Cr(Al,Nb) and Al(Nb)Cr2 considerably improves mechanical behaviour, leading the yield strength to 1525 MPa at 800 °C and 925 MPa at 900 °C. The oxidation tests showed the formation of several oxides at all temperatures studied and that from 900 °C on alfa Al2O3 is formed both in air and O2 except under O2 at 1000 °C. It is believed that the Cr(Al,Nb) phase acts as an Al reservoir for the formation of the various Al2O3 scales.  相似文献

Ozone gas diluted in water has been shown to produce significant results in terms of the elimination of microorganisms. Streptococcus mutans is the etiologic agent of dental caries. Methods using water containing ozone and an ultrasonic cleaner were employed for the disinfection of a curette. Streptococcus mutans was grown in a selective medium. The curette was submitted to disinfection by water containing ozone, by ultrasound, and then both techniques were combined. The results show that either method produced a significant microbial reduction, but the efficacy of both methods combined was greater. This method of disinfection proved to be both viable and cheap.  相似文献
