The turbulent momentum transport phenomena in a two-dimensional mixing layer are investigated numerically by a discrete vortex method. The numerical model and calculations are verified through a comparison with existing numerical simulations and experimental measurements. The main emphasis is placed on the exploration of the detailed time-dependent instantaneous local momentum fluctuations and on the comparison of numerical results with available experimental measurements. The current simulations confirm qualitatively the various trends in the turbulent momentum flux and fluctuating components of the velocity in the mixing layer found with several experimental results. The study shows that similarity exists in turbulent momentum quantities along the axial direction of the mixing layer. The calculations also show a definite correlation between the passage of a large-scale structure and a burst in the turbulent momentum flux. The probability density functions of the fluctuating quantities are shown to be mostly Gaussian-like, with only a few exceptions.  相似文献

Chemical investigation of the ethanolic extract of Jasminum polyanthum Franch has resulted in the isolation of verbascoside (10) and 9 secoiridoid glycosides including oleoside dimethyl ester (1), 10-hydroxy oleoside dimethyl ester (2), oleoside 11 methyl ester (3), methyl-glucooleoside (4), 8-epikingiside (5), ligustroside (6), angustifolioside B (7), oleuropein (8), and oleoacetoside (9). (−)-Antrocin ( 1 ), produced by the medicinal mushroom Antrodia cinnamomea, is a potent antiproliferative compound. The biosynthetic gene cluster of 1 was identified, and the pathway was characterized by heterologous expression. We characterized a haloacid dehalogenase-like terpene cyclase AncC that biosynthesizes the drimane-type sesquiterpene (+)-albicanol ( 2 ) from farnesyl pyrophosphate (FPP). Biochemical characterization of AncC, including kinetic studies and mutagenesis, demonstrated the functions of two domains: a terpene cyclase (TC) and a pyrophosphatase (PPase). The TC domain first cyclizes FPP to albicanyl pyrophosphate, and the PPase domain then removes the pyrophosphate to form 2 . Intriguingly, AncA (94 % sequence identity to AncC), in the same gene cluster, converts FPP into (R)-trans-γ-monocyclofarnesol instead of 2 . Notably, Y283/F375 in the TC domain of AncA serve as a gatekeeper in controlling the formation of a cyclofarnesoid rather than a drimane-type scaffold.  相似文献

A compact and commercial aerosol generator capable of generating narrowly size-distributed aerosols with high mass concentrations was designed, fabricated and tested. The aerosol generator, consisting of a Delavan simplex nozzle (Model 30610-4), an L-shaped settling chamber and a virtual impactor with a clean air core, was modified and improved from Chein and Lundgren's work [20] to be more compact and readily commercial. The performance of the aerosol generator was evaluated using corn-oil, sodium chloride and uranine solutions. The results indicated that the cornoil droplets produced by the generator had a mass medium aerodynamic diameter (MMAD) of 7.20 ± 0.32 μm with a geometric standard deviation (GSD) of 1.48 ± 0.01 and the aerosol generation rate was 13.8 ± 1.3 mg/min. Solid aerosols generated from NaCl solution were found to have an MMAD in the range 1.39–4.88 μm with a GSD of 1.34–1.47 with the volumetric solution concentration varying from 0.1% to 9%. At the same time, the aerosol generation rate varied from 0.27 ± 0.05 to 15.8 ± 1.8 mg/min. depending on the solution concentration and the particle size produced. In addition, a 0.01% uraniane solution was tested to generate a submicron aerosol with an MMAD of 0.93 μm and a GSD of 1.48.  相似文献

2-Isocyanoallopupukeanane (4) has been obtained in racemic form from methyl 2-exo-methylbicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-2-endo-carboxylate via dibromocarbene addition, S(N)2' displacement, chain extension, and elaboration of the unsaturated ketone 12c which underwent an intramolecular hetero-Diels-Alder reaction to afford 13 containing all the skeletal carbon atoms. The dihydropyran unit was cleaved by ozonolysis to give the tricarbocyclic intermediate which required seven more steps to complete the synthesis.  相似文献

A mathematical model for predicting the maximum pumping efficiency and pressure difference generation by an electrokinetic-driven fluid pumping system through a capillary tube is presented in this study. Both the maximum pumping efficiency and optimum pressure difference generation are found to depend on a single variable. This single variable is termed as the figure of merit since it determines the performance of electrokinetic pumping. The figure of merit is found to depend on three dimensionless parameters, the normalized Debye length, zeta potential, and Levine number indicating the nominal ratio of convective current to conductive current. All three parameters can be related to the pH value and concentration of aqueous salt solution by the introduction of concentration-dependent electrical conductivity and pH-dependent zeta potential. By presenting the maximum pumping efficiency and optimum pressure difference generation as functions of pH value, salt concentration, and capillary tube radius, it is found that both maximum pumping efficiency and optimum pressure difference generation increase with the decrease in capillary radius and salt concentration. The optimum pH values at which the maximum pumping efficiency and optimum pressure difference generation occur are found to be in the range between 6 and 9. For the salt concentration of 10(-6) M, pH 6.9, and a capillary tube radius value of 0.5 micro m, the predicted maximum pumping efficiency is 5.4% which is close to the experimental measurement reported in the literature.  相似文献
