A free scapular skin flap for penile reconstruction.

INTRODUCTION: There are many possible methods for penis reconstruction, among them, pedicled flaps, myocutaneous flaps, combined osseocutaneous flaps, and free skin flaps. This study evaluated the free scapular skin flap method for penile reconstruction. METHODS: Fifteen men aged 20 to 48 underwent the procedure between March 2000 and February 2006, with follow-up examinations from 6 months to 5 years. RESULTS: Fourteen of the reconstructions were successful, with patients enjoying good cosmetic results as well as functionality. CONCLUSION: The free scapular skin flap technique is a good method for penile reconstruction.     

Genotoxicity evaluation of lithium hypochlorite

Lithium hypochlorite (LiOCl), the pool and spa sanitizer/algicide, was evaluated for genotoxicity in a battery of studies designed to evaluate potential mutagenicity, DNA damage and chromosome aberrations. LiOCl was not mutagenic in the Ames test when tested in Salmonella typhimurium strains TA98, TA100, TA1535, TA1537, TA1538 or in the hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyl transferase (HGPRT) mutation assay in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells without metabolic activation. LiOCl did not induce DNA damage in the unscheduled DNA synthesis assay using rat primary hepatocytes. Effects on metaphase chromosomes were evaluated in vitro in CHO cells at 12 and 18 h exposure without S9 and at 12 and 22 h following a 2 h exposure with S9. LiOCl induced a statistically significant increase in chromosome aberrations at the high dose only at both harvest times without S9 and at the late harvest time with S9. There were significant increases in chromosome aberrations at the low dose, low-mid and high doses, but not at the high mid-dose at the early harvest time with S9. However, LiOCl did not increase chromosome aberrations when tested orally in rats at maximally tolerated doses. Bone marrow cells, collected 6, 24 and 48 h after a single oral dose of LiOCl to rats (100, 500, 1000 mg/kg in males; 50, 250, 500 mg/kg in females) showed no increase in the incidence of aberrations. In general, the weight of the evidence indicates that LiOCl is not genotoxic.     

东莨菪碱对大鼠下丘脑室旁核精氨酸升压素的影响

目的 观察东莨菪碱对大鼠下丘脑室核精氨酸升压素的影响。方法 以不同浓度Ｓｃｏｐ推挽灌流大鼠下丘脑室旁核 结果 扣留出液中精氨酸升压素含量随推挽时间延长而增多。结论Ｓｃｏｐ可促进ＰＶＮ释放内源性ＡＶＰ，这对了解Ｓｃｏｐ抗休克的机理有重大的意义。     

Sustained-release theophylline-uniphyllin in nocturnal asthmatics

For a period of six months, we collected 12 cases of nocturnal asthmatics (7 males, 5 females); their ages ranged from 20 to 66 (the average age is 49). We found that administration of Uniphyllin (10 mg/kg) once a day at 6 PM could maintain the blood level of theophylline within therapeutic range at least 12 to 24 hrs. The peak expiratory flow rate of the 6 cases we collected, were significantly improved. The result of pharmokinetic parameters: 1) The average of a single dose (12 cases) is AUC (ug. hr/ml) 275.1 +/- 62. k; Kel (hr-1) 0.068 +/- 0.019; Ka (hr-1) 0.33 +/- 0.07); Tmax (hr) 6.3 +/- 1.4; T 1/2 (hr) 11.2 +/- 4.4; Clearance/F (ml/kg/hr) 37.9 +/- 9.0.2). The average of steady state (12 cases) is Css (mg/L) 5. 7 +/- 2.6; Cmax-Cmin (mg/L) 10.09 +/- 1.46.3). The average of relative bioavailability (3 cases) is 82%, 83%, 102%. However, the extent of absorption data is available for only 3 subjects. There are too few subjects to draw any meaningful conclusions about this relative bioavailability. Four cases show slight symptoms, including 1 case of dizziness, 2 cases of nausea, and 1 case gaseousness. It is suggested that the drug be administered at about 6-8 PM to coincide peak levels in the early morning in nocturnal asthmatics.     

Mitogenic effect of polyclonal anti-porcine lymphocyte E-receptor antiserum IgG

In the present paper we report the mitogenic effect of the sheep anti-porcine lymphocyte E-receptor antiserum IgG(APERIgG) on porcine peripheral T-lymphocytes in vitro. The effect was apparently dose-dependent and not seen in the B-lymphocyte cultures. Kinetic study showed that the maximal 3H-thymidine incorporation, similar to that induced by Con A, occurred on the third day of incubation. Neither F(ab')2 nor Fab fragment of APERIgG was able to induce cell proliferation, indicating that the integrity of IgG molecule was essential for cell response. It was very interesting to note that though there is cross antigenicity between porcine and human E-receptors, no similar effect could be produced by APERIgG in human peripheral lymphocyte cultures under the same experimental conditions, suggesting the existence of minor difference in structure between the porcine and human E-receptors.     

安徽省回族居民中两例Hb D Punjab纯合子一级结构分析

继青海、甘肃、新疆、河南等地发现Ｈｂ Ｐｕｎｊａｂ杂合子后，杂们又在安徽省阜阳地区发现两例ＨｂＤ纯合子，级一级结构分析，确诊为ＨｂＤｐｕｎｊａｂβ１２１（ＣＨ４）Ｃｌｕ→Ｇｌｎ。这一发现为探讨该地区回族中异常Ｈｂ发生率高的原因，研究各民族的亲缘关系以及Ｈｂ变对人类健康与的影响提供了遗传学资料。     

实验冻伤大鼠神经纤维的超微结构改变

为探讨冷冻损伤发生、发展及转归的规律，采用健康Ｗｉｓｔａｒ大鼠，分为冻伤组（２０只）和对照组（５只）。电镜下观察大鼠后肢冷冻至－２０℃后即刻、４小时、２４小时及７２小时时周围神经的超微结构改变。冻后即刻，神经髓鞘即出现轻度变性；冻后１～２４小时，有髓神经雪旺细胞及轴突严重变性，而无髓神经变性较轻；冻后７２小时，神经溃变及修复并存，无髓神经较有髓神经易于修复。     

Cloning of Human α-defensin-1 (HNP-1) Gene and Construction of Its Eukaryotic Expression Vector

1 Introduction Defensins are small cationic antimicrobial peptides that function in the host's innate immune system. The human defensin family includes three small peptides from the azurophil granules of polymorphonuclear cells named human neutrophil peptide (HNP)-1, HNP-2, HNP-3,which consist 5%-7% of the protein of human neutrophil. HNP-4 is approximately one hundred times less abundant. They demonstrate antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties in vitro. HNPs are important component of nonoxidative mechanism in macrophages, and can direct inactivate the enveloped viruses. Because only special cells express defensins. And it is hard to extract them naturally and the production is few. So researcher expect to obtain defensins highly through heterogenous expression by gene engineering technology. In order to express HNP-1, we cloned the cDNA of HNP-1 from human polymorphonuclear cells in peripheral blood, and constructed its eukaryotic expression vector, which provided a base for the further study on its mechanism of antimicrobial effect.
