Recently, researchers have been examining the actual state of microplastics contamination in the environment. However, pollution in high biodiversity environments such as tidelands has not been sufficiently investigated. Therefore, to assess the actual level of microplastics pollution therein, we conducted a survey of the tidelands of Osaka Bay in Japan to develop a model that included basins in urban and suburban areas. We quantified the levels of microplastics in the mud from four of Osaka Bay's tidelands and detected them based on three inhabitants of the main river estuary tideland, namely, bivalves (Corbicula japonica), crabs (Chiromantes dehaani) and a tufted duck (Aythya fuligula). Microplastics ranging in size from 300 μm to 5 mm were targeted, and the results indicated that the concentration of microplastics in the mud tended to increase with tideland proximity to an urban area where the density of the human population was the highest. Microplastics were detected in 10% of the bivalves and 6.7% of the crabs (n = 30 in both cases), and eight pieces of microplastics were detected in the stomach of one tufted duck. These results indicate that the mud in tidelands near urban areas had more microplastics. In addition, the results suggest that microplastics contamination levels may be higher in higher order predators in the food web.  相似文献

A monoacylglycerol lipase (MGL) was purified from Pseudomonas sp. LP7315 by ammonium sulfate precipitation, anion-exchange chromatography, and preparative electrophoresis. The purified enzyme was homogeneous on SDS-PAGE with a molecular mass of 59 kDa. Its hydrolytic activity was confirmed to be specific for monoglycerides: the enzyme did not hydrolyze di- and triglycerides. MGL was found to be stable even after 1-h incubation at 65 degrees C. The optimum pH for monopalmitin hydrolysis was approximately 8. The hydrolytic activity depended not only on temperature and pH but also on the type of monoglyceride used. MGL also catalyzed monoglyceride synthesis at 65 degrees C in a solvent-free two-phase system, in which fatty acid droplets were dispersed in the glycerol phase with a low water content. The synthetic reaction proceeded at a constant rate for approximately 24 h and approximately reached an equilibrium after 48 h of reaction. The initial rate and equilibrium yield of the synthetic reaction depended on the type of fatty acid used as the substrate.  相似文献

In order to identify potential genotoxicant(s) in recycled paperboard, samples were fractionated using multiple liquid/liquid extraction, and gel permeation chromatography, and analysed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry. The rec-assay was used as an indicator of genotoxicity. Genotoxicants in the recycled paperboard were identified as dehydroabietic acid (DHA) and abietic acid (AA). DHA and AA were detected in two out of five virgin products, and in all seven recycled products for food-contact use. Total amounts of DHA and AA were 240 and 990 µg/g in the virgin products and 200-990 µg/g in the recycled products. A good correlation was observed in the total amount of DHA and AA content determined in paper products and DNA-damaging activity. Moreover, genotoxic effects in paper products showed a good match with standard compounds, indicating that the genotoxic effects of these paper products was mostly attributable to DHA and AA.  相似文献

Poly(styrene‐co‐butyl methacrylate) and poly(styrene‐co‐butyl acrylate) latices were prepared by emulsion polymerization with alkali‐hydrolyzable and nonhydrolyzable cationic emulsifiers and were used as a dispersant and binder for waterborne carbon black (CB) paint. CB was dispersed in the latex solutions and then coated on filter paper pretreated with dilute aqueous Na2CO3 under mild conditions. The styrene (St)‐rich rigid copolymer latices easily dispersed the CB but fixed a little amount of the pigment on the paper surface. In contrast, the methacrylate‐ and acrylate‐rich soft latices tended to increase the adhesibility on it. We also demonstrated that the hydrolyzable‐emulsifier‐containing latices always had a higher adhesibility than the nonhydrolyzable‐emulsifier‐containing ones. Thus, the hydrolyzable‐emulsifier‐containing latices with an appropriate St content had the highest paintability, rapid adhesion, quick drying, reduced fading, superior fastness, and so on. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The mechanisms of Al-Si eutectic refinement due to scandium (Sc) additions have been studied in an Al-7Si-0.3Mg foundry alloy. The evolution of eutectic microstructure is studied by thermal analysis and interrupted solidification, and the distribution of Sc is studied by synchrotron micro-XRF mapping. Sc is shown to cause significant refinement of the eutectic silicon. The results show that Sc additions strongly suppress the nucleation of eutectic silicon due to the formation of ScP instead of AlP. Sc additions change the macroscopic eutectic growth mode to the propagation of a defined eutectic front from the mold walls opposite to the heat flux direction similar to past work with Na, Ca, and Y additions. It is found that Sc segregates to the eutectic aluminum and AlSi2Sc2 phases and not to eutectic silicon, suggesting that impurity-induced twinning does not operate. The results suggest that Sc refinement is mostly caused by the significantly reduced silicon nucleation frequency and the resulting increase in mean interface growth rate.  相似文献

Heat transfer characteristics of gaseous flows in a microtube with constant heat flux whose value is positive or negative are investigated on two-dimensional compressible laminar flow for no-slip regime. The numerical methodology is based on the Arbitrary–Lagrangian–Eulerian (ALE) method. The computations are performed for tubes with constant heat flux ranging from −104 to 104 W m−2. The tube diameter ranges from 10 to 100 μm and the aspect ratio of the length and diameter is 200. The stagnation pressure, pstg is chosen in such away that the Mach number at the exit ranges from 0.1 to 0.7. The outlet pressure is fixed at the atmosphere. The wall and bulk temperatures in microtubes with positive heat flux are compared with those of negative heat flux case and also compared with those of the incompressible flow in a conventional sized tube. In the case of fast flow, temperature profiles normalized by heat flux have different trends whether heat flux is positive or negative. A correlation for the prediction of the wall temperature of the gaseous flow in the microtube is proposed. Supplementary runs with slip boundary conditions for the case of D = 10 μm conducted and rarefaction effect is discussed. With increasing Ma number, the compressibility effect is more dominant and the rarefaction effect is relative insignificant where Kn number is less than Kn = 0.0096. And, the magnitudes of viscous dissipation term and compressibility term are investigated along the tube length.  相似文献

The optical properties of π-conjugated polymer films based on poly(p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV) units under a wet condition were studied. We succeeded in producing multimode laser emission under a wet condition from cylindrical microcavities with a polymer thin film fabricated onto the inner surface of an optical capillary tube, which was filled with cyclohexane. Furthermore, lasing spectral modulation was demonstrated with the polymer laser. We discuss the lasing spectral modulation by taking the change in refractive index into consideration.  相似文献

For nonlinear thermal power plants whose dynamics vary with load demand, a load-dependent exponential ARX (Exp-ARX) model, which can effectively describe the nonlinear properties of the plants, is presented. The Exp-ARX model requires only off-line identification. Based on the model, a constrained multivariable generalized predictive control (CMGPC) strategy is designed and implemented in a simulation of 375 MW thermal power plants. This CMGPC algorithm does not resort to on-line parameter estimation and can more exactly predict the future outputs of the nonlinear plants, so it shows better reliability and control performance than the usual GPC algorithm.  相似文献

This paper presents the high-performance DRAM array and logic architecture for a sub-1.2-V embedded silicon-on-insulator (SOI) DRAM. The degradation of the transistor performance caused by boosted wordline voltage level is distinctly apparent in the low voltage range. In our proposed stressless SOI DRAM array, the applied electric field to the gate oxide of the memory-cell transistor can he relaxed. The crucial problem that the gate oxide of the embedded-DRAM process must be thicker than that of the logic process can be solved. As a result, the performance degradation of the logic transistor can be avoided without forming the gate oxides of the memory-cell array and the logic circuits individually. In addition, the data retention characteristics can be improved. Secondly, we propose the body-bias-controlled SOI-circuit architecture which enhances the performance of the logic circuit at sub-1.2-V power supply voltage, Experimental results verify that the proposed circuit architecture has the potential to reduce the gate-delay time up to 30% compared to the conventional one. The distributions of the number of molecules per cluster (cluster size) of ethanol cluster ion beams were measured by the time-of-flight method. The cluster sizes at the peak and minimum tail (minimum size) of the distribution increased with increase of the retarding voltage. A difference appeared between the measured minimum size and the calculated values using a formula based on the early measurements on the velocity distributions of gas clusters.  相似文献
