Phase formation in Sr-celsian glass, containing 3 wt% B2O3 (SA2SB), was investigated by using non-isothermal and isothermal kinetic analyses. While stoichiometric celsian (SA2S) glass showed two-stage crystallization of glass, from glassy state to hexacelsian and from hexacelsian to monocelsian, SA2SB glass showed direct crystallization of glass to monocelsian, resulting in considerable decrease in the temperature of monocelsian formation. The activation energy for monocelsian formation in SA2SB glass was 390 kJ/mol, which is lower than those for hexacelsian and monocelsian formation respectively in SA2S glass. The Avrami exponent of SA2SB glass was 2.0, indicating two-dimensional crystal growth with interface-controlled mechanism at a zero nucleation rate. 相似文献

Three-dimensional thermoluminescence (TL) spectra based on temperature, wavelength and intensity for newly developed LiF:Mg,Cu,Na,Si TL material at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) were measured and analysed. The glow curves were obtained by integration of luminescence intensity over all wavelengths at each temperature, and various trapping parameters related to the traps were determined by analysing these curves. A computerised glow curve deconvolution (CGCD) method which was based on the general order kinetics (GOK) model was used for the glow curve analysis. The glow curves of LiF:Mg,Cu,Na,Si TL material were deconvoluted to six isolated glow curves which have peak temperatures at 333, 374, 426, 466, 483 and 516 K. The main glow peak of peak temperature at 466 K had activation energy of 2.06 eV and a kinetic order of 1.05. This TL material was also found to have three recombination centres, 1.80 eV, 2.88 eV and 3.27 eV by analysis of the TL spectra. 相似文献

The flap-lag-torsion coupled aeroelastic behavior of a hingeless rotor blade with composite flexures in hovering flight has been investigated by using the finite element method. The quasi-steady strip theory with dynamic inflow effects is used to obtain the aerodynamic loads acting on the blade. The governing differential equations of motion undergoing moderately large displacements and rotations are derived using the Hamilton’s principle. The flexures used in the present model are composed of two composite plates which are rigidly attached together. The lead-lag flexure is located inboard of the flap flexure. A mixed warping model that combines the St. Venant torsion and the Vlasov torsion is developed to describe the twist behavior of the composite flexure. Numerical simulations are carried out to correlate the present results with experimental test data and also to identify the effects of structural couplings of the composite flexures on the aeroelastic stability of the blade. The prediction results agree well with other experimental data. The effects of elastic coupling such as pitch-flap, pitch-lag, and flap-lag couplings on the stability behavior of the composite blades are also investigated. 相似文献

Transmission delays occur when a virtual environment responds to the hand and head movements of an operator. The effects of hand and head-related delays on discrete manual performance was investigated experimentally and compared. Imposed hand and head-related pure delays equal to or greater than 110 ms and 220 ms, respectively, significantly increased hand Movement Time (MT). The effect of hand-related delays was greater than that of head-related delays of the same magnitude. A regression model describing the combined effects of both delays on MT is reported (R(2) = 0.95). Analyses of the interactions among delays, target width, and distances have shown the need to adopt the traditional classification of delays into (1) control delay, and (2) display delay. The use of this taxonomy and the regression analyses to describe and explain the effects of individual and combined effects of delays on discrete target-reaching task performance in virtual environments are discussed. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new algorithm, named Grid-based Distributed Max-Miner (GridDMM), for mining maximal frequent itemsets from databases on a Data Grid. A frequent itemset is maximal if none of its
supersets is frequent. GridDMM is specifically suitable for use in Grid environments due to low communication and synchronization
overhead. GridDMM consists of a local mining phase and a global mining phase. During the local mining phase, each node mines
the local database to discover the local maximal frequent itemsets, then they form a set of maximal candidate itemsets for
the top-down search in the subsequent global mining phase. A new prefix-tree data structure is developed to facilitate the
storage and counting of the global candidate itemsets of different sizes. We built a Data Grid system on a cluster of workstations
using the open-source Globus Toolkit, and evaluated the GridDMM algorithm in terms of performance, scalability, and the overhead
of communication and synchronization. GridDMM demonstrates better performance than other sequential and parallel algorithms,
and its performance is scalable in terms of the database size and the number of nodes.

We have fabricated a microfluidic gel valve device that used reversible sol–gel transition of methyl cellulose (MC). A microheater
and a microtemperature sensor were implemented in each microchannel in the gel valve device. Before evaluating the performance
of the gel valve device, various properties of the MC solution were investigated using viscometer, spectrophotometer, and
NMR. Gelation temperature was increased as the MC concentration was increased. Clear gel, an intermediate state between clear
sol and turbid gel, was found at the temperature range from 30–40°C to 50–60°C. Temperature at each microchannel of the device
was measured and the effect of the temperature difference on the valve operation was elucidated. In order to have normal operation
of the gel valve, it was important to keep the temperature of the heated microchannel around 60°C while keeping the temperature
of the flowing microchannel below 35°C. The temperature difference between two microchannels was about 23 K when fan forced
cooling (FFC) method was used. For normal performance of the gel valve device, a temporary pause of fluid flow for at least
5 s was required to complete the local gelation in the microchannel. Stable gel valve performance was obtained at the flow
rates larger than 5 μl/min. The gel valve device showed no leakage up to 2.07×104 Pa. 相似文献

A range query finds the aggregated values over all selected cells of an online analytical processing (OLAP) data cube where
the selection is specified by the ranges of contiguous values for each dimension. An important issue in reality is how to
preserve the confidential information in individual data cells while still providing an accurate estimation of the original
aggregated values for range queries. In this paper, we propose an effective solution, called the zero-sum method, to this
problem. We derive theoretical formulas to analyse the performance of our method. Empirical experiments are also carried out
by using analytical processing benchmark (APB) dataset from the OLAP Council. Various parameters, such as the privacy factor
and the accuracy factor, have been considered and tested in the experiments. Finally, our experimental results show that there
is a trade-off between privacy preservation and range query accuracy, and the zero-sum method has fulfilled three design goals:
security, accuracy, and accessibility.
Sam Y. Sung is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science, School of Computing, National University of Singapore. He
received a B.Sc. from the National Taiwan University in 1973, the M.Sc. and Ph.D. in computer science from the University
of Minnesota in 1977 and 1983, respectively. He was with the University of Oklahoma and University of Memphis in the United
States before joining the National University of Singapore. His research interests include information retrieval, data mining,
pictorial databases and mobile computing. He has published more than 80 papers in various conferences and journals, including
IEEE Transaction on Software Engineering, IEEE Transaction on Knowledge & Data Engineering, etc.
Yao Liu received the B.E. degree in computer science and technology from Peking University in 1996 and the MS. degree from the Software
Institute of the Chinese Science Academy in 1999. Currently, she is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science
at the National University of Singapore. Her research interests include data warehousing, database security, data mining and
high-speed networking.
Hui Xiong received the B.E. degree in Automation from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, in 1995, the
M.S. degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore, Singapore, in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer

Information Systems in the Management Science & Information Systems Department at Rutgers University, NJ, USA. His research
interests include data mining, databases, and statistical computing with applications in bioinformatics, database security,
and self-managing systems. He is a member of the IEEE Computer Society and the ACM.
Peter A. Ng is currently the Chairperson and Professor of Computer Science at the University of Texas—Pan American. He received his Ph.D.
from the University of Texas–Austin in 1974. Previously, he had served as the Vice President at the Fudan International Institute
for Information Science and Technology, Shanghai, China, from 1999 to 2002, and the Executive Director for the Global e-Learning
Project at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, 2000–2003. He was appointed as an Advisory Professor of Computer Science at
Fudan University, Shanghai, China in 1999. His recent research focuses on document and information-based processing, retrieval
and management. He has published many journal and conference articles in this area. He had served as the Editor-in-Chief for
the Journal on Systems Integration (1991–2001) and as Advisory Editor for the Data and Knowledge Engineering Journal since

This paper introduces a navigation method for a teleoperated mobile agent (or robot) moving in an unstructured environment that includes unknown obstacles and uneven terrain, based on a guided-navigation algorithm (GNA) and a rollover-prevention algorithm (RPA). Although the mobile agent is primarily driven by an operator at a remote site, it reacts autonomously for avoiding collision with obstacles and for preventing rollover when it suspects/detects possible collision or rollover. The autonomous reactive motion is normally unexpected, thus there exists the inconsistency between the intended motion and the controlled motion of the agent from the operator. A force-reflection technique utilizing a force-feedback joystick is developed to manipulate this inconsistency. To verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed navigation method, experiments with the Robot for Hazardous Application-Double Tracks (ROBHAZ-DT) (actual mobile agent) are successfully carried out. 相似文献

Previous computer-assisted problem-solving systems have incorporated all the problem-solving steps within a single stage, making it difficult to diagnose stages at which errors occurred when a student encounters difficulties, and imposing a too-high cognitive load on students in their problem solving. This study proposes a computer-assisted system named MathCAL, whose design is based on four problem-solving stages: (1) understanding the problem, (2) making a plan, (3) executing the plan and (4) reviewing the solution. A sample of one hundred and thirty fifth-grade students (aged 11 years old) completed a range of elementary school mathematical problems and empirically demonstrated. The results showed MathCAL to be effective in improving the performance of students with lower problem solving ability. This evaluation allowed us to address the problem of whether the assistances in various stages help students with their problem solving. These assistances improve students’ problem-solving skills in each stage. 相似文献
