Semiconducting Ag2SeTe thin films were prepared with different thicknesses onto glass substrates at room temperature using thermal evaporation technique. The structural properties were determined as a function of thickness by XRD exhibiting no preferential orientation along any plane, however the films are found to have peaks corresponding to mixed phase. The XRD studies were used to calculate the crystallite size and microstrain of the Ag2SeTe films. The calculated microstructure parameters reveal that the crystallite size increases and micro strain decreases with increasing film thickness. The refractive index, dielectric constants and thereby the optical bandgap of the films were calculated from transmittance spectral data recorded in the range 400?C1200 nm by UV?CVIS-Spectrometer. The direct optical bandgap of the Ag2SeTe thin films deposited on glass substrates with different thicknesses 50?C230 nm were found to be in the range 1.48?C1.59 eV. The carrier density value is estimated to be around 9.8 × 1021 cm?1 for the film thickness of 150 nm. The compositions estimated from the optical band gap studies reveal a value of 0.75 for Tellurium concentration. These structural and optical parameters are found to be very sensitive to the thin film thickness.  相似文献

The influence of pH and current density on the structural and magnetic behavior of soft magnetic Co-Ni-Fe alloy thin films has been studied. The effect of pH and current density on the compositional, structural, and magnetic properties of the as-obtained films was investigated by EDX (energy dispersive analysis by X-rays), XRD (X-ray diffractometer) and VSM (vibrating sample magnetometer). The EDX results revealed that at the optimized deposition conditions, nickel content was low compared with cobalt and ferrous content. X-ray diffraction patterns revealed that the deposited films have polycrystalline nature with mixed (fcc-bcc) cubic structure and small crystallite size (<20 nm). The films prepared in optimized conditions exhibit high saturation magnetization (4πMs value above 2T) and low coercivity (below 160 A/m), which may be due to the reduced crystallite size.  相似文献

Obesity increases the risk of postmenopausal breast cancer (BC). This risk is mediated by obesity-induced changes in the adipose-derived secretome (ADS). The pathogenesis of BC in obesity is stimulated by mTOR hyperactivity. In obesity, leucine might support mTOR hyperactivity. Leucine uptake by BC cells is through L-Type Amino Acid Transporter 1 (LAT1). Our objective was to link obesity-ADS induction of LAT1 to the induction of mTOR signaling. Lean- and obese-ADS were obtained from lean and obese mice, respectively. Breast ADS was obtained from BC patients. Estrogen-receptor-positive BC cells were stimulated with ADS. LAT1 activity was determined by uptake of 3H-leucine. The LAT1/CD98 complex, and mTOR signaling were assayed by Western blot. The LAT1 antagonists, BCH and JPH203, were used to inhibit LAT1. Cell migration and invasion were measured by Transwell assays. The results showed obese-ADS-induced LAT1 activity by increasing transporter affinity for leucine. Consistent with this mechanism, LAT1 and CD98 expression were unchanged. Induction of mTOR by obese-ADS was inhibited by LAT1 antagonists. Breast ADS from patients with BMIs > 30 stimulated BC cell migration and invasiveness. Collectively, our findings show that obese-ADS induction of LAT1 supports mTOR hyperactivity in luminal BC cells.  相似文献

ABSTRACT:  Menhaden oil-in-water emulsions (20%, v/v) were stabilized by 2 wt% whey protein isolate (WPI) with 0.2 wt% xanthan gum (XG) in the presence of 10 mM CaCl2 and 200 μM EDTA at pH 7. Droplet size, lipid oxidation, and rheological properties of the emulsions were investigated as a function of heating temperature and time. During heating, droplet size reached a maximum at 70 °C and then decreased at 90 °C, which can be attributed to both heating effect on increased hydrophobic attractions and the influence of CaCl2 on decreased electrostatic repulsions. Combination of effects of EDTA and heat treatment contributed to oxidative stability of the heated emulsions. The rheological data indicate that the WPI/XG-stabilized emulsions undergo a state transition from being viscous like to an elastic like upon substantial thermal treatment. Heating below 70 °C or for less than 10 min at 70 °C favors droplet aggregation while heating at 90 °C or for 15 min or longer at 70 °C facilitates WPI adsorption and rearrangement. WPI adsorption leads to the formation of protein network around the droplet surface, which promotes oxidative stability of menhaden oil. Heating also aggravates thermodynamic incompatibility between XG and WPI, which contributes to droplet aggregation and the accumulation of more WPI around the droplet surfaces as well.  相似文献

Mitogen‐activated protein kinases (MAPKs) play vital roles in multiple cellular processes and represent prominently pursued targets for development of therapeutic regimes. The MAPK Spc1 (p38 homologue) is known to be very important for both mitotic promotion and delay in Schizosaccharomyces pombe. However, the mechanism responsible for mitotic inhibition has remained elusive. Cdc25 (Cdc2 activator) and Wee1 (Cdc2 inhibtor) are important determinants of mitotic timing in all eukaryotes. Our results show that Spc1 can sense the perturbations in the balance of Cdc25 and Wee1 activities in S. pombe and that its function as a mitotic inhibitor is very important for controlling the same. An Spc1–Srk1–Rad24‐dependent pathway for mitotic inhibition has been reported earlier.Here we report the presence of an alternative mechanism wherein Spc1 targets the 14–3–3 protein, Rad24, independently of Srk1, leading to relocalization of Cdc25 and mitotic inhibition. Our observations suggest that this pathway can serve as a backup mechanism for Cdc2 inactivation in the absence of Wee1.  相似文献

Cyclic fatigue experiments in the high and very high cycle fatigue regimes have been performed on a René 88DT polycrystalline nickel-based superalloy. The microstructural configurations that favor early strain localization and fatigue crack initiation at high temperature from 400 °C to 650 °C have been investigated. Competing failure modes are observed in the high to the very high cycle fatigue regime. Fatigue cracks initiate from non-metallic inclusions and from intrinsic internal microstructural features. Interestingly, as stresses are reduced into the very high cycle regime, there is a transition to initiation only at crystallographic facets. At higher stress in the high cycle fatigue regime, a significant fraction of specimens initiate cracks at non-metallic inclusions. This transition is analyzed with regard to microstructural features that favor strain localization and accumulate damage early during cycling.  相似文献

The shock sensitivity of a typical sheet explosive RDX-WAX (90:10) has been experimentally determined with gap test arrangement by measuring free surface velocity in different thicknesses of the barrier and shock and particle velocity of non-reactive shock wave in the sheet explosive with Pin Oscillography Technique. It has been found that a shock wave, generated by a point-initiated cylindrical explosive in contact with an aluminium barrier of diameter nearly twice the diameter of the charge, attenuates exponentially and a 6.5 mm thick sheet explosive, of density 1.28 g/cm3 and velocity of detonation 6.43 mm/μs, detonates with 50% probability by a shock wave of 11 kbar pressure in the explosive.  相似文献

A new analysis is presented of the relations between the multicomponent diffusion coefficients and the classical Kedem–Katchalsky coefficients which describe solute transport in membranes. This analysis is applied to binary and ternary systems and shows the importance of system nonideality in the calculation of solute diffusion coefficients. It is shown that the solute permeability coefficients can be calculated from independent knowledge of the nonideal thermodynamic activity coefficients and the multicomponent diffusion coefficients of the system. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The effects of moisture content, xanthan gum (XG) addition and glucose syrup (GS):sucrose ratio on elastic (G′) and viscous (G″) moduli during in situ gelation and on large deformation rheological properties of cured gels were investigated. An increase in both moduli of the samples with XG addition indicates network structure being strengthened. All gel samples exhibited distinct fracture. An increase in GS:sucrose ratio led to a decrease in fracture stress and an increase in fracture strain, implying more flexible polymer network. Decreasing moisture content may lead to phase separation between sugar-rich and polymer-rich phases to form stronger connection within the network structure. Textural characteristics of samples analyzed using a texture map, indicated that increasing GS:sucrose ratio rendered the sample texture more rubbery when the samples contained XG. We also related factors affecting the gelling mechanisms in terms of Tg measured by different techniques including DMA and modulated DSC.  相似文献
