This article studies the time-optimal output transition problem to change the system output, from an initial value (for all time ) to a final value (for all time ), for invertible nonlinear systems. The main contribution of the article is to show that the use of pre- and post-actuation input outside the transition interval IT=[0,T] can reduce the transition time T beyond the standard bang–bang-type inputs for optimal state transition. The advantage of using pre- and post-actuation is demonstrated with an illustrative nonlinear example.  相似文献

Surface ultrastructures of gill filaments and secondary lamellae of Rita rita and Cirrhinus mrigala, inhabiting different ecological habitat, were investigated to unravel adaptive modifications. R. rita is a sluggish, bottom dwelling carnivorous catfish, which inhabits regions of river with accumulations of dirty water. It retains its viability for long time if taken out of water. C. mrigala is an active bottom dwelling Indian major carp, which lives in relatively clean water and dies shortly after taken out of water. In R. rita, gill septa between gill filaments are reduced. Microridges on epithelial cells covering gill filaments are often continuous and arranged concentrically. Secondary lamellae are extensive. The epithelium appears corrugated, show irregular elevations and shallow depressions, and microridges on epithelial cells appear fragmented. In C. mrigala, in contrast, the gill septa are extensive. Microridges on epithelial cells covering gill filaments are fragmented. Secondary lamellae are less extensive. The epithelium appears smooth and microridges on epithelial cells are relatively inconspicuous. These differences have been considered adaptive modification in relation to habit and ecological niches inhabited by two fish species. Presence of mucous goblet cells on gill filaments is discussed in relation to their functions including precipitation of the sediments and preventing clogging of gill filaments. Infrequent mucous goblet cells in the epithelium of secondary lamellae in two fish species are considered an adaptation, minimizing thickness of the epithelium to reduce barrier between blood and water for favoring gasses exchange with increased efficiency.  相似文献

Sexually dimorphic cognitive performance in men (n=42) and women (n=42) was related to testosterone, estradiol, progesterone, luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and sex hormone binding globulin, measured in 10-ml blood samples collected between 0900 and 1030 and, among women, during the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle. Significant sex differences favored men on spatial tasks (Mental Rotation and Judgment of Line Orientation) and on an inhibition task and favored women on a verbal task (category fluency). However, there were no significant relationships between any of the hormones and cognitive performance, suggesting that there are few, if any, consistent, substantial relationships between endogenous, nonfluctuating levels of gonadal hormones or gonadotropins and these cognitive abilities in men or women. This article presents a novel method to improve the measurement sensitivity and reduce impact forces in tapping-mode atomic force microscopy by reshaping the tip trajectory. A tapping drive signal composed of two harmonics is used to generate an oscillating trajectory with a broader valley compared to the typical sinusoidal trajectory. The wide broad valley reduces the velocity of the tip in the vicinity of the sample and allots a greater portion of each period in the vicinity of the sample. Numerical simulations show that this results in decreased impact force and increased sensitivity of the cantilever oscillation to changes in tip-sample offset. Experimental results demonstrate an increase in image sharpness and decrease in tip wear using the bi-harmonic driving signal.  相似文献

The current paper focuses on enhancing the surface hardness of the heat-treatable Al-alloy using the combined approach of thermal-spray, friction stir surface processing (FSSP) and heat-treatment. Copper powder was thermal-sprayed in the surface groove of Al 6061 alloy specimens followed by FSSP. Defect-free stirred zone was observed at lower transverse speed of 10 mm/min. The width of the hardness profiles across the stirred zone was increased with increase in the rotational speed of the tool. Grain refining was observed in the stirred zone due to the FSSP. In post-FSSP T6 heat-treatment, aging kinetics in the non-surface-alloyed specimen was accelerated due to the FSSP. Precipitation of Al2Cu phase was observed in the stirred zone. Copper-alloying and post-FSSP heat-treatment were effective in enhancing the surface hardness (about 39% improvement in the surface hardness was observed).  相似文献

To understand the flow behavior of a newly developed austenitic stainless steel 316LN with 0.14 wt% nitrogen, isothermal compression tests have been carried out in the hot working domain. From the analysis of flow behavior, it is observed that the nitrogen enhanced steel, in its hot working domain exhibits strain and strain rate hardening with thermal softening. The flow behavior analysis also demonstrates the coupled effect of strain–temperature and strain rate temperature on the flow stress. To depict the flow behavior of the material, strain compensated Arrhenius (SCA) equation and Model D8A have been used. The SCA predicts the flow curves with an average absolute error of 9.27% and a correlation coefficient of 0.977, whereas the prediction by Model D8A gives the average absolute relative error as 10.86% with a correlation coefficient of 0.966. For high temperature and intermediate strain rate, both Model D8A and SCA equation depict the flow behavior of 316L (0.14)N SS with good correlation and generalization. However, at low temperature and high strain rate domain, both the models are unable to depict the behavior; this is attributed to the fact that the material shows two slope behaviors where the constants have been calculated assuming a linear relationship between stress and strain rate.  相似文献

The objective of the present investigation was to formulate curcumin loaded fish scale collagen (FSC)-hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC K100) nanogel (CNG) for wound healing application. The curcumin nanoemulsion was prepared, characterized and loaded in FSC-HPMC nanogel. The nanogel was evaluated for ex-vivo permeation, in-vivo, skin irritation, and stability study. Ex-vivo permeation study demonstrated that CNG prolonged release and exhibited higher percent contraction value of wound compared to other formulations. In skin irritation study, formulation produced the score of less than 2 compared to control. It concluded that curcumin loaded FSC-HPMC nanogel could be prepared for wound healing applications.  相似文献

The effect of single-layer pyrocarbon (PyC) and multilayered (PyC/SiC)n=4 interphases on the flexural strength of un-coated and SiC seal-coated stitched 2D carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide (Cf/SiC) composites was investigated. The composites were prepared by I-CVI process. Flexural strength of the composites was measured at 1200 °C in air atmosphere. It was observed that irrespective of the type of interphase, the seal coated samples showed a higher value of flexural strength as compared to the uncoated samples. The flexural strength of 470 ± 12 MPa was observed for the seal coated Cf/SiC composite samples with multilayered interphase. The seal coated samples with single layer PyC interphase showed flexural strength of 370 ± 20 MPa. The fractured surfaces of tested samples were analyzed in detail to study the fracture phenomena. Based on microstructure-property relations, a mechanism has been proposed for the increase of flexural properties of Cf/SiC composites having multilayered interphase.  相似文献
