In this paper, return link systems for wireless mobile camera using 42 GHz-band in multipath fading environments are proposed. The return link systems for wireless mobile camera require wireless transmission with high reliability as same as the conventional wired camera systems. The proposed return link systems achieve transmission with high reliability by taking into consideration frequency and space diversity techniques. The proposed systems can be classified as 3 three types of return link systems according to diversity techniques: FD (frequency diversity) systems, SD (space diversity) systems and FD+SD system (frequency and space diversity). Computer simulations are carried out in order to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed return link systems. During the past year, we have witnessed the evolution of an intense public controversy regarding late thrombosis following implantation of drug eluting stent (DES) in patients with obstructive coronary artery disease. To overcome the problem, DES should possess sufficient biocompatibility and non-thrombogenicity with a controlled drug release system. A new DES composed of biocompatible polymers coated with antithrombogenic diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating was proposed. In this study, the drug release profile of the newly proposed drug eluting system was thoroughly investigated. Three polymers were selected as base drug-reservoir materials: hydrophilic 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine (MPC), hydrophobic poly (ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) (EVA) and less hydrophobic polyurethane (PU). The three polymers are currently used or studied for biomedical materials, while MPC and DLC were already confirmed as excellent biocompatible materials with antithrombogenicity. After coating the lattice-like patterned DLC on both polymers containing drug, samples were soaked in 2 ml of medium of phosphate-buffered saline with 10% ethanol. The drug release rate was measured by a spectrophotometer. The percentile cover area of patterned DLC on polymers was varied from 0% (without DLC) to 100% (fully covered). The sample without DLC coating presented an initial burst of the drug release from the polymer matrix, whereas the DLC-coated samples inhibited the initial burst release from polymers within the first five days of the experiments. It was found that the drug eluting profiles could be effectively controlled by changing the cover area of micro-patterned DLC coatings on polymers, which may be applicable to the next-generation DES system that eventually prevents late thrombosis. 相似文献

A patient with malignant cardiac pheochromocytoma with bone metastases is described. The primary tumor was located between the pulmonary trunk and the left atrium, while metastatic lesions were found in the iliac bones. Treatments with antihypertensive agents, alpha-methylparatyrosine, and combination chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and dacarbazine partially improved the patient's symptoms, catecholamine levels, and the metastatic lesion of the iliac bones. An end-to-end packet delay in the Internet is an important performance parameter, because it heavily affects the quality of real-time applications. In the current Internet, however, because the packet transmission qualities (e.g., transmission delays, jitters, packet losses) may vary dynamically, it is not easy to handle a real-time traffic. In UDP-based real-time applications, a smoothing buffer (playout buffer) is typically used at a client host to compensate for variable delays. The issue of playout control has been studied by some previous works, and several algorithms controlling the playout buffer have been proposed. These studies have controlled the network parameters (e.g., packet loss ratio and playout delay), not considered the quality perceived by users. In this paper, we first clarify the relationship between Mean Opinion Score (MOS) of played audio and network parameters (e.g., packet loss, packet transmission delay, transmission rate). Next, utilizing the MOS function, we propose a new playout buffer algorithm considering user's perceived quality of real-time applications. The corrosion behavior of sialon ceramics was investigated in supercritical water at 450°C under 45 MPa for 2–50 h. α-sialon exhibited better corrosion resistance than β-sialon and α/β-sialon. Pitting corrosion with the formation of corrosion products was observed in the case of β-sialon and α/β-sialon. By contrast, the corrosion behavior of α-sialon was characterized by uniform corrosion with the formation of corrosion products. The degree of strength deterioration was strongly dependent on the corrosion morphology. The bending strength of α-sialon after corrosion for 30 h was about 90% of its initial strength, while the strength of β-sialon decreased to 65% of its original strength. 相似文献

We propose that a polarization-insensitive Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) switch is useful for optical gate elements, especially if multiwavelength signals are input. This device has high-input-power saturation properties, which shows that both the operating voltage and the extinction ratio do not change when the optical input power reaches at least +18 dBm. A high extinction ratio of 30 dB was achieved in the wide-wavelength range of 20 nm. Moreover, the extinction ratio can be improved by up to 45 dB by using a cascaded configuration to decrease crosstalk. Crystallization of Li-Al-Si-O-N oxynitride glasses based on the β-spodumene composition and the properties of the resultant glass-ceramics have been studied. The onset of the precipitation of metastable high-quartz solid solution and its transformation to β-spodumene shift to higher temperatures with increasing nitrogen content of the oxynitride glasses. Nitrided glass-ceramics crystallized at 1200°C have negative thermal expansion coefficients, since high-quartz structure is maintained up to 1000° and 1200°C. Knoop hardness and density of the glass-ceramics increase with increasing nitrogen content. There was evidence that part of the nitrogen atoms were incorporated into the high-quartz solid-solution structure and that a small amount of the minor phase of Si2 N2 O was precipitated in highly nitrided glass-ceramics. 相似文献
