Two different surface treatments (mechanical polishing, thin film deposition) were performed on cathode surfaces, and the field emission currents from the cathodes were measured with a microchannel plate. In order to discuss the relationship between the breakdown voltage and prebreakdown current in the vacuum gap, the breakdown voltage was measured after field emission measurement. The VI characteristics of the field emission and breakdown voltage were influenced by surface treatment, and the breakdown voltages of mechanical polished cathodes were lower than those of the thin film deposited cathodes. It was found that the probability of breakdown increased when the field emission current reached 10–11 A. Atomic force microscope (AFM) measurements showed numerous protrusions on the cathode surface in the case of thin film deposition treatment, but we estimated by the finite element method that these protrusions make the field enhancement effect low. We aimed to develop a process technology for constructing a carbon-based micro-electromechanical system that does not require a high-temperature and high-energy process. A HOPG (highly oriented pyrolytic graphite) crystal microsheet was prepared by exfoliation. Cantilevers and doubly clamped beams were patterned using a photoresist. The HOPG microsheet was attached by using a tantalum layer. We fabricated cantilevers and a doubly clamped beam by controlling the thickness of the HOPG microsheet and then measured the first resonance frequency. The measurements suggest a need to improve the stiffness of the beam.  相似文献

A 38-year-old man was hospitalized in our university hospital because of pulmonary opacities with bilateral hilar and mediastinal lymphadenopathy seen on chest radiograph. Eosinophilia was observed in the circulation and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid. Histological examination revealed noncaseating epithelioid granulomas and eosinophilic infiltration in the lung. Based on these findings, a diagnosis of sarcoidosis combined with chronic eosinophilic pneumonia was made. The infiltrates on chest radiograph and BAL eosinophilia were promptly reduced with corticosteroid therapy, but only mild reduction was observed in diffuse nodular shadows and hilar and mediastinal lymphadenopathy, and high amounts of lymphocytes in BAL fluid remained. Increased IFN-gamma, IL-4 and IL-5 were detected in the BAL fluid, and corticosteroid therapy reduced IL-4 and IL-5 (Th-2 cytokines) but not IFN-gamma (Th-1 cytokine). These cytokine levels in BAL fluid were intimately correlated with the clinical course of sarcoidosis and chronic eosinophilic pneumonia.  相似文献

Electrical characteristics ofp-Ge/n-GaAs heterojunctions on GaAs(l00) grown by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) have been investigated. Thep-type Ge layer was produced by intentionally doping with Ga atoms, in addition to the diffusion of Ga atoms from the surface of the GaAs layer. The best ideality factor of 1.04 over six decades of the forward current and the lowest reverse current density of the order of 10−6 A/cm2 were obtained for diodes with Ge grown at 500° C. The ideality factor increased slightly up to 1.12 when the operating temperature was decreased to 77 K. By studying the temperature dependence of the forward current, the conduction band discontinuity has been estimated to be 40 ± 10 meV. The suppression of Ga diffusion into the Ge film and its effect on pn-junction characteristics were also studied by growing a thin Ge film on GaAs at less than 300° C prior to the normal Ge film growth at 500° C.  相似文献

Cyclopenta[cd]pyrene 3,4-oxide (2) has been synthesized in a one-step, quantitative reaction using dimethyldioxirane. The oxide, or its thermal rearrangement products cyclopenta[cd]-pyren-3(4H)-one and cyclopenta[cd]pyren-4(3H)-one, is formed from cyclopenta[cd]pyrene (1) under simulated environmental conditions. In one case these products are formed when 1 is adsorbed on model particulates and then exposed to the reaction products of tetramethylethylene and ozone in the gas phase.  相似文献

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a potent angiogenic factor. VEGF levels in ocular tissue of 6-, 12-, 18- and 28-week-old Goto-Kakizaki (GK) rats, a well-known model of non-insulin-dependent diabetes, were evaluated by highly sensitive ELISA. VEGF concentrations in the GK rat as well as in non-diabetic Wistar rat significantly decreased from the age of 6 weeks to 18 weeks. However, although VEGF concentrations in the Wistar rat continued to fall significantly from 18 to 28 weeks of age, the levels were maintained between 18 and 28 weeks of age in GK rats. Levels were significantly different between the GK and Wistar rats at 28 weeks of age. Results of immunohistochemical studies of the eyes of Wistar and GK rats at 28 weeks of age suggest diffuse distribution of this cytokine in cells of neural origin. Weak to moderate VEGF immunoreactivity was exhibited mainly in the ganglion cell layer, inner plexiform layer and inner/outer nuclear layers in rats with and without diabetes. However, in the retinal optic nerve fiber layer, retinal pigment epithelium and choroid, strong VEGF immunoreactivity was noted only in the GK rat. In conclusion, increased VEGF production in certain ocular tissue, similar to that in humans, is observed quite early, at least before the appearance of observable retinal changes in the diabetic GK rat. This also suggests that the GK rat can be used as a model of initial or latent phase diabetic retinopathy.  相似文献

The expression of adrenomedullin (ADM) and its mRNA was studied in human glial cell tumors and cultured glioblastoma cell lines, T98G and A172. Northern blot analysis showed that ADM mRNA was expressed in all brain tumors examined (three anaplastic astrocytomas and two glioblastomas multiforme) and in the glioblastoma cell lines. Immunoreactive (IR-) ADM was detectable in these brain tumors by radioimmunoassay (0.31-2.0 pmol/g wet weight), except for one anaplastic astrocytoma. Reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography of the tumor extracts showed a single peak eluting in the position of ADM-(1-52). IR-ADM concentrations in the cultured media of T98G cells were 205.5 +/- 8.4 fmol/10(5) cells/24 h (mean +/- SEM, n = 5). Treatment of T98G cells with interferon gamma or interleukin 1 beta increased the expression levels of ADM mRNA and the IR-ADM concentrations in the cultured media, whereas tumor necrosis factor alpha decreased them in a dose-dependent manner. Treatment with synthetic ADM-(1-52) (10(-8) or 10(-7) mol/l) increased the cAMP concentrations in the cultured media of T98G cells. These findings suggest that ADM is secreted from glial cell tumors and is related to the pathophysiology of these tumors.  相似文献

Examination of human follicular fluid revealed the presence of polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs) and dibenzofurans (PCDFs) at concentrations of approximately 1 pg/ml (0.01 pg TEQ/ml). To study their possible action, two-cell mouse embryos were cultured in the presence of 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) at concentrations between 0.5 and 100 pM and evaluated at 24-h intervals for their development to the eight-cell and blastocyst stages. The percentage of eight-cell embryos exposed to TCDD at 1, 2, and 5 pM concentrations was significantly lower than that of controls. However, blastocyst formation of the surviving eight-cell embryos was accelerated, with the number of cells in the blastocysts increased in a dose-dependent manner. Findings suggest that PCDDs and PCDFs may be present in human reproductive fluid and may exert some stage-specific effects on early embryonic development.  相似文献
