This research paper presents an isogeometric plate finite element formulation for analysis of thick composite plates. Isogeometric finite element method which is based on non-uniform rational B-splines (NURBS) basis functions, is a novel numerical procedure developed to bridge the gap between CAD and FEM modeling of structures. In order to investigate the behavior of isogeometric plate elements under static loading, plate kinematics is based on third order shear deformation theory (TSDT) of Reddy, which is free from transverse shear locking. This paper discusses accurate transverse stress recovery procedures for TSDT isogeometric finite elements. Numerical experiments with quadratic, cubic and quartic elements are presented and obtained results are compared to other available ones.  相似文献

The isothermal section of the Dy–Co–Ti system at 500 °C has been investigated in the whole composition range by means of X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The only ternary phase DyTixCo12−x is of ThMn12-type structure, space group I4/mmm, and shows a small homogeneity range of 1 ≤ x ≤ 1.6. The lattice parameters for DyTixCo12−x with 1 ≤ x ≤ 1.56 are a = 0.8336(4)–0.8402(1) nm and c = 0.4691(3)–0.4727(1) nm. Along a constant Dy concentration, the solid solubilities of Ti in the compounds Dy2Co17, DyCo3, DyCo2 and Dy3Co are about 2.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 at.%, respectively. The TiCo phase has a homogeneity range of 50–54 at.% Co at 500 °C and dissolves up to 2.0 at.% Dy.  相似文献

Competitive transport of hydrochloric acid and zinc chloride has been investigated in a two‐compartment mixed cell with an anion‐exchange membrane Neosepta‐AFN developed and produced by Tokuyama Soda Co. These experiments have proved that hydrochloric acid permeates well through the membrane used but, on the other hand, zinc chloride is not effectively rejected. The flux of zinc chloride has been found to be increasing with increasing acid and salt concentrations. Furthermore, it has been found that it is approximately one order of magnitude higher than that found in the case of simultaneous transport of sulfuric acid and zinc sulfate through the same membrane. The further calculations concerning the ionic equilibria with sorption isotherms for the HCl? ZnCl2 system, which have been measured experimentally, have revealed that high flux of ZnCl2 is due to the fact that a considerable amount of zinc chloride in the membrane is in the form of ZnCl3? complex, which is relatively small and passes well through this membrane. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Polymeric Dihydroquinolines, which are commonly used as antioxidants for macromolecular systems, were prepared by acid-catalyzed condensation of acetone with aniline. The final products may differ in quality according to the purity of the starting materials and conditions of preparation. In the present work, three commercial antioxidants of the type of polymeric 2,2,4-rimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline were mutually compared from the chemical point of view. Some of the components of the antioxidants were identified by mass spectrometry after prior separation using GPC and LLC-RP.  相似文献

The biotransformation of linoleic acid (LA) into conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) by microorganisms is a potentially useful industrial process. In most cases, however, the identities of proteins involved and the details of enzymatic activity regulation are far from clear. Here we summarize available data on the reaction mechanisms of CLA-producing enzymes characterized until now, from Butyrivibrio fibrisolvens, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Ptilota filicina, and Propionibacterium acnes. A general feature of enzymatic LA isomerization is the protein-assisted abstraction of an aliphatic hydrogen atom from position C-11, while the role of flavin as cofactor for the double bond activation in CLA-producing enzymes is also discussed with regard to the recently published three-dimensional structure of an isomerase from P. acnes. Combined data from structural studies, isotopic labeling experiments, and sequence comparison suggest that at least two different prototypical active site geometries occur among polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) double bond isomerases.  相似文献

The Clean Water Act expressed its goals in terms of restoring and preserving the physical, chemical and biological integrity of the Nation's waters. Integrity has been defined as the ability of the water body's ecological system to support and maintain a balanced integrated, adaptive community of organisms comparable to that of a natural biota of the region. Several indices of biotic integrity (IBIs) have been developed to measure quantitatively the biotic composition and, hence, the integrity. Integrity can be impaired by discharges of pollutants from point and nonpoint sources and by other pollution-related to watershed/landscape and channel stresses, including channel and riparian zone modifications and habitat impairment. Various models that link the stressors to the biotic assessment endpoints, i.e., the IBIs, have been presented and discussed. Simple models that link IBIs directly to single or multiple surrogate stressors such as percent imperviousness are inadequate because they may not represent a true cause-effect proximate relationship. Furthermore, some surrogate landscape parameters are irreversible and the relationships cannot be used for development of plans for restoration of the water body integrity. A concept of a layered hierarchical model that will link the watershed, landscape and stream morphology pollution stressors to the biotic assessment endpoints (IBIs) is described. The key groups of structural components of the model are: IBIs and their metrics in the top layer, chemical water and sediment risks and a habitat quality index in the layer below, in-stream concentrations in water and sediments and channel/habitat impairment parameters in the third layer, and watershed/landscaper pollution generating stressors, land use change rates, and hydrology in the lowest layer of stressors. A modified and expanded Maximum Species Richness concept is developed and used to reveal quantitatively the functional relationships between the top two layers of the structural components and parameters of the model.  相似文献

A new method of impulse radio ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) pulse generation, with advantage of providing a “notch” like representation of pulse in the spectrum domain for particular control parameters values, is investigated in this paper. Low power pulse generator is composed of a glitch generator, a switched oscillator, a two-stage buffer and a pulse shaping filter. The proposed architecture, designed in UMC 0.18 µm CMOS technology, can operate in a single band from 3.3 GHz to 9.3 GHz or in a double, lower and higher UWB band (from 3 GHz to 9.15 GHz), suppressing frequencies in the WLAN band. Both spectrums fully comply with the corresponding FCC spectral mask, while the pulse generator regime and the spectrum range are determined by control signal values. Post-layout simulation results showed a pulse width of 0.5 ns, and a peak-to-peak amplitude of 211 mV for one band spectrum. The average power consumption is 0.89 mW corresponding to the energy consumption of 8.9 pJ/pulse for 100 MHz pulse repetition rate (PRF). The pulse duration is 1 ns and peak-to-peak amplitude is 202 mV in the case of the WLAN frequency band suppression. The total chip area is 0.31 mm2. The pulse generator has been evaluated for the best performance supporting the on-off keying (OOK) modulation.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: Surface of polyethyleneterephthalate (PET) was modified by plasma discharge and subsequently grafted with dithiols (1, 2-ethanedithiol (ED) or 4, 4'-biphenyldithiol) to create the thiol (-SH) groups on polymer surface. This "short" dithiols are expected to be fixed via one of -SH groups to radicals created by the plasma treatment on the PET surface. "Free" -SH groups are allowed to interact with Au nanoparticles. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and electrokinetic analysis (EA, zeta potential) were used for the characterization of surface chemistry of the modified PET. Surface morphology and roughness of the modified PET were studied by atomic force microscopy (AFM). The results from XPS, FTIR, EA and AFM show that the Au nanoparticles are grafted on the modified surface only in the case of biphenyldithiol pretreatment. The possible explanation is that the "flexible" molecule of ethanedithiol is bounded to the activated PET surface with both -SH groups. On the contrary, the "rigid" molecule of biphenyldithiol is bounded via only one -SH group to the modified PET surface and the second one remains "free" for the consecutive chemical reaction with Au nanoparticle. The gold nanoparticles are distributed relatively homogenously over the polymer surface.  相似文献

We investigated the toxicity of benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P), 1-nitropyrene (1-NP) and 3-nitrobenzanthrone (3-NBA) in A549 cells. Cells were treated for 4 h and 24 h with: B[a]P (0.1 and 1 μM), 1-NP (1 and 10 μM) and 3-NBA (0.5 and 5 μM). Bulky DNA adducts, lipid peroxidation, DNA and protein oxidation and mRNA expression of CYP1A1, CYP1B1, NQO1, POR, AKR1C2 and COX2 were analyzed. Bulky DNA adducts were induced after both treatment periods; the effect of 1-NP was weak. 3-NBA induced high levels of bulky DNA adducts even after 4-h treatment, suggesting rapid metabolic activation. Oxidative DNA damage was not affected. 1-NP caused protein oxidation and weak induction of lipid peroxidation after 4-h incubation. 3-NBA induced lipid peroxidation after 24-h treatment. Unlike B[a]P, induction of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor, measured as mRNA expression levels of CYP1A1 and CYP1B1, was low after treatment with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) nitro-derivatives. All test compounds induced mRNA expression of NQO1, POR, and AKR1C2 after 24-h treatment. AKR1C2 expression indicates involvement of processes associated with reactive oxygen species generation. This was supported further by COX2 expression induced by 24-h treatment with 1-NP. In summary, 3-NBA was the most potent genotoxicant, whereas 1-NP exhibited the strongest oxidative properties.  相似文献
