A survey of plasticizers in cap-sealing resins for bottled foods has been undertaken. During 1997-1999 di-(2- ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) was found in seven out of 21 samples on the Japanese domestic market and in 10 out of 61 imported samples as well as a further two samples which contained di-(2-ethylhexyl)adipate (DEHA). In the period 1993-1999, of the other plasticizers diacetyl lauroyl glycerol (DALG) was only detected in domestic samples whereas diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP) and diisononyl phthalate (DINP) were only in imported samples. It was observed overall that DEHP and DEHA were restricted to use in cap-sealing resins for bottled foods. Whilst phthalates, DEHA or DALG were detected in samples in 1993 and 1995, the investigation in 1997-1999 showed fewer samples in which these plasticizers were found.  相似文献

Membrane conductances during hypoosmotic swelling were characterized in rat astrocytes in primary tissue culture. Using whole cell patch clamp techniques, mean +/- SEM cell conductance in isoosmotic phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) was 55.6 +/- 5.8 pS/pF. Cell conductance (mean +/- SEM) increased from this initial value to 187 +/- 46%, 561 +/- 188%, and 1216 +/- 376% within 9 min of exposure to 220 mOsm, 190 mOsm, and 145 mOsm PBS, respectively. With each of these hypoosmotic exposures, no change occurred in membrane capacitance. When CsCl replaced KCl in the microelectrode solution, a similar conductance increase was obtained at each osmolality. However, when gluconate salts were used in place of chloride salts in the electrode solution, no significant conductance increase was observed with 190 mOsm PBS. With a KCl microelectrode solution, all conductance increase which occurred in 190 mOsm PBS was inhibited by 200 microM niflumic acid, but not by 5 mM BaCl(2). Both niflumic acid and BaCl(2) inhibited 60-80% of the conductance increase of cells in 145 mOsm PBS. Using a microelectrode solution containing taurine as the major anion, membrane conductance increased 5-fold when cells were placed in 250 mOsm medium. This conductance increase was completely inhibited by 200 microM niflumic acid. Thus, independent chloride and potassium conductances are activated by hypoosmotic swelling of cultured astrocytes while plasma membrane area is unaltered. The chloride conductance pathway is activated at a significantly lower degree of hypoosmotic exposure than that which activates the potassium pathway and may be permeable to anionic taurine. These conductance pathways may mediate diffusive loss of potassium, chloride, and taurine from these cells during volume regulation following hypoosmotic swelling.  相似文献

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was performed to investigate thermodynamic properties of three carp fast skeletal light meromyosin (LMM) isoforms expressed in Escherichia coli by recombinant DNAs. Three isoforms were the 10 degreesC-, intermediate-, and 30 degreesC-type LMM predominantly expressed in carp acclimated to 10, 20, and 30 degreesC. The isoforms expressed in E. coli by recombinant DNAs exhibited a typical pattern of alpha-helix in CD spectroscopy with two minima at 222 and 208 nm. Moreover, the three isoforms formed paracrystals typical of LMM, suggesting that expressed proteins retained intact structural properties. When the LMM isoforms were subjected to DSC analysis, the 10 degreesC and 30 degreesC types showed endotherms having transition temperatures (Tm) at 35.1 and 39.5 degreesC, respectively, which are responsible for thermal unfolding of alpha-helix. The intermediate type exhibited two comparable endotherms with Tm values at 34.9 and 40.6 degreesC, implying that it has intermediate thermodynamic properties between those of 10 degreesC and 30 degreesC types. However, a chimeric LMM having the 10 degreesC and 30 degreesC type as N- and C-terminal halves, respectively, showed the DSC pattern typical of the whole 30 degreesC-type molecule. On the other hand, another chimeric LMM composed of the N-terminal 30 degreesC type and C-terminal 10 degreesC type gave the pattern of the full 10 degreesC type. These results suggest that thermodynamic properties of the C-terminal half largely account for thermal unfolding of the whole molecule.  相似文献

A statistical thermodynamical approach has been introduced to calculate shear viscosity and thermal flux for interactions among the gene-regulating biomolecular protein particles that operate in moderate density rigid-sphere fluids. Starting from the modified Boltzmann equation with the help of linear perturbation theory, the coefficients of distribution function were determined. On the basis of transport theory, we introduced computational forms of diffusion constant, mass flux, shear viscosity, and thermal flux. We examined the influences of changes in mass, diameter, and magnitude of the pair correlation function. GaInAs-GaInAsP-InP SCH (separate-confinement heterostructure) multiquantum-film lasers with approximately 100-nm-wide wirelike active regions were fabricated by two-step low-pressure organometallic vapor-phase epitaxy (LP-OMVPE) growth and wet chemical etching and operated at room temperature. An increase in the threshold current density in such lasers was drastically reduced by using a preheating process in hydrogen atmosphere and a thin InP cover layer growth prior to the regrowth of a GaInAsP optical confinement layer. The fabrication processes presented can be very effective for realization of room-temperature operation of long-wavelength quantum-wire and quantum-box lasers based on GaInAs-InP materials.<>  相似文献

A novel finite-element formulation for the analysis of the energy levels of a two-dimensional quantum cavity in a magnetic field is proposed. Our formulation is based on both a variational and Galerkin methods which, when combined with a finite-element method, lead to eigenvalue problems characterized by either real or Hermitian matrices contrary to algorithms proposed in the past. These eigenvalue problems can then be solved quite efficiently on a computer using standard library packages. Also, it is confirmed that the results obtained here are independent of the choice of gauge  相似文献

We have investigated local structures of ErP grown by organometallic vapor phase epitaxy Er source: tris(ethylcyclopentadienyl)erbium (Er(EtCp)3 by extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) measurement. The EXAFS analysis revealed that NaCl-type ErP and Er–O(–C) compounds coexisted in the case of ErP growth by using Er(EtCp)3. The NaCl-type ErP was preferentially formed on InP(1 1 1)A compared with InP(0 0 1) and InP(1 1 1)B. It is considered that formation of unexpected Er–O(–C) compounds is due to low but significant concentration of residual O and/or C in Er(EtCp)3.  相似文献

A new experimental technique was developed for detecting structure changes at electrode/electrolyte interface of lithium cell using X-ray reflectometry and two-dimensional model electrodes with a restricted lattice-plane. The electrodes were constructed with an epitaxial film of LiCoO2 synthesized by pulsed laser deposition method. The orientation of the epitaxial film depends on the substrate plane; the 2D layer of LiCoO2 is parallel to the SrTiO3 (1 1 1) substrate ((003)LiCoO2//(111)SrTiO3)((003)LiCoO2//(111)SrTiO3), while the 2D layer is perpendicular to the SrTiO3 (1 1 0) substrate ((110)LiCoO2//(110)SrTiO3)((110)LiCoO2//(110)SrTiO3). The anisotropic properties were confirmed by electrochemical measurements. Ex situ X-ray reflectivity measurements indicated that the impurity layer existed on the as-grown LiCoO2 was dissolved and a new SEI layer with lower density was formed after soaking into the electrolyte. In situ X-ray reflectivity measurements indicated that the surface roughness of the intercalation (1 1 0) plane increased with applying voltages, while no significant changes in surface morphology were observed for the intercalation non-active (0 0 3) plane during the pristine stage of the charge–discharge process.  相似文献

We consider thermoelectric effects in a pseudo-one-dimensional electron gas (P1DEG) with a spin–orbit interaction (SOI). The SOI splits the dispersion relation of the P1DEG into subbands with an energy gap. We find quantum oscillations in transport coefficients, which coincide with the locations of the subband edges, as a function of the electrochemical potential.  相似文献
