Strongly adhered layers of the compound with the primary amino group directed toward the solution were obtained at the gold surface by chronoamperometric electroreduction of 4-aminoethylobenzenodiazonium salt (AEBD) in acetonitrile solution at appropriately selected potential. The used techniques (EQCM, AFM, EIS, PM, IRRAS) showed that the nature and thickness of formed aminoethylophenyl layer strongly depend on the potential applied to the electrode. Electroreduction of AEBD salt at a potential more negative than -0.6 V (vs Ag/AgCl) leads to about monolayer on the gold surface. Additionally, such a layer was very tight and uniform. The electrochemical measurements indicate that the efficient and precise attachment of biomolecules to the aminoethylophenyl layer is only possible when this layer is formed at appropriate potential. This paper concerns design sensitivity analysis (DSA) for an elasto–plastic material, with material parameters depending on, or serving as, design variables. The considered constitutive model is Huber–Mises deviatoric plasticity with non‐linear isotropic/kinematic hardening, one which is applicable to metals. The standard radial return algorithm for linear hardening is generalized to account for non‐linear hardening functions. Two generalizations are presented; in both the non‐linearity is treated iteratively, but the iteration loop contains either a scalar equation or a group of tensorial equations. It is proven that the second formulation, which is the one used in some parallel codes, can be equivalently brought to a scalar form, more suitable for design differentiation. The design derivatives of both the algorithms are given explicitly, enabling thus calculation of the ‘explicit’ design derivative of stresses entering the global sensitivity equation. The paper addresses several issues related to the implementation and testing of the DSA module; among them the concept of verification tests, both outside and inside a FE code, as well as the data handling implied by the algorithm. The numerical tests, which are used for verification of the DSA module, are described. They shed light on (a) the accuracy of the design derivatives, by comparison with finite difference computations and (b) the effect of the finite element formulation on the design derivatives for an isochoric plastic flow. On the basis of sugar analysis and 1H- and 13C-NMR spectroscopy, it was shown that the O-specific polysaccharide of Proteus penneri strain 15 has a trisaccharide repeating unit, including an acetal-linked pyruvic acid residue, and is structurally identical to the capsular polysaccharide of Proteus vulgaris strain ATCC 49990. Serological studies supported this conclusion and demonstrated the presence in the homological antiserum of both anti-core and anti-O chain antibodies reacting with a lipopolysaccharide (LPS) epitope containing N-acetylglucosamine and galactose residues.  相似文献

SQUID magnetometry is applied to study the temperature and magnetic field dependence of magnetization M(T, H) of semiconductor EuS–PbS ferromagnetic multilayers grown on insulating KCl(100) and conducting n-PbS(100) monocrystalline substrates. For low external magnetic fields (of the order of 10 Oe) and PbS spacer layers thinner than about 2 nm, we observe in EuS–PbS–EuS trilayers the strongly nonmonotonic temperature dependence of magnetization with almost zero total magnetic moment below the Curie temperature. The application of the magnetic field of the order of 100 Oe restores the regular monotonic increase of magnetization with decreasing temperature. To explain this M(T,H) dependence we present a model that considers the competition of three (temperature dependent) contributions to the total magnetic energy of the trilayer: the antiferromagnetic interlayer interaction energy, the Zeeman energy, and the energy of in-plane magnetocrystalline anisotropy.  相似文献

During the summer of 1980, Davis (CA) undertook a program to encourage residents to reduce peak electricity use. The program was initiated by the local utility company and carried a collective financial incentive: for every 1% reduction in peak electricity use, the utility would reward the city $10,000 up to a maximum of $100,000. This paper discusses the program and evaluates its effects during the first experimental summer of operation.Most of the strategies developed in Davis to reduce peak load also indirectly encouraged conservation during off-peak hours, and the program evolved, in effect, as a conservation program. Total electricity use for the Davis residential sector, adjusted for weather and prices, was reduced by about 7%, and the reduction of peak load was somewhat greater. The program was economically rewarding to residents, the city, and the utility. In addition, the program had other, intangible impacts on general energy consciousness and community spirit.  相似文献

Detailed mechanisms of the switch of the cell death mode from apoptosis to necrosis remain to be solved, although the intracellular level of ATP and that of free radicals have been postulated to be the major factors involved in the mechanisms. In the present study menadione (MEN)-induced cell injury processes were studied using rho0 cells derived from human osteosarcoma 143B cells and parental rho+ cells co-treated with inhibitors of electron transfer chain of mitochondria or oligomycin, an inhibitor of ATP synthesis. Treatment of rho+ cells with 100 microM MEN induced apoptosis, which reached the maximum at 6 h, and was followed by an abrupt decrease thereafter, while necrotic cells (NC) increased continuously when they were judged by Annexin V and PI double staining. On the other hand, MEN induced apoptotic and necrotic changes much faster in rho0 cells compared to rho+ cells. The frequency to find apoptotic cells (AP) in the former cells was distinctly smaller than that to find NC judged by Annexin V and PI double staining. Electron microscopically, a major population of rho0 cells treated with MEN for 6 h consisted of intermediate cells, and a small number of AP co-existed. At 9 h of the treatment intermediate cells were exclusively seen, and AP were hardly detected. When parental rho+ cells were treated with MEN in the presence of oligomycin or oligomycin plus antimycin A both apoptotic and necrotic changes of the cells were distinctly accelerated. The intracellular level of superoxide in rho0 cells continuously increased after the MEN treatment, whereas that of ATP remained distinctly low before and after the MEN treatment compared to that in rho+ cells. These data suggest that the intracellular level of superoxide may be a key factor controlling the switch from apoptosis to necrosis.  相似文献

A series of Pt/Al2O3 catalysts were prepared by the impregnation method and were characterized by TEM, XRD, H2 and CO chemisorptions, and investigated in the hydrodechlorination of tetrachloromethane. Three Pt-rich, Pt–Au/Al2O3 catalysts (Pt100, Pt95Au5 and Pt90Au10) showed a similar metal particle size (~2.5–2.7 nm), so observed changes in the catalytic behavior are ascribed to alloying effect, especially because a considerable degree of Pt–Au mixing was achieved in the bimetallic samples. It appeared that by introducing very small amount of gold (10 at.%) to platinum, the catalytic activity is increased. It is argued that the occurrence of this moderate synergistic effect is associated with a decreased tendency of surface chloriding when platinum is alloyed with gold. The promotion of Fischer-Tropsch catalysts 10%Co/Al2O3, 10%Co/SiO2, 10%Co/TiO2 by 0.5% Ru and the modification of supports by 8.5 wt% ZrO2 have been studied. The following properties: catalyst specific surface area as well as reducibility and dispersion of metallic phase were studied by different techniques: BET, TPR, and H2 chemisorption. The modification of supports by non-reducible ZrO2, results in a decrease of cobalt oxide reduction on Al2O3 and TiO2 but not on SiO2 supports. Additionally the enhancement of cobalt dispersion was found for all catalysts with ZrO2 modified supports. The impact of Ru promotion is likely due to the stabilization of applied supports, prevention or blockage of interaction between surface Co species and support and an increase in cobalt oxide reducibility to the catalytically active metallic cobalt phase.  相似文献
