Sapphire plates, cut parallel to an {0001} plane, have been implanted with 300 keV nickel ions to doses ranging from 5×1012 to 1×1017 Ni cm–2 at specimen temperatures of 100, 300 and 523 K, in order to investigate the effect of implantation temperature on the mechanical property changes in sapphire caused by ion implantation. The measured changes in surface hardness, surface fracture toughness and bulk flexural strength were found to depend strongly on the implantation temperature, and were largely correlated with the residual surface compressive stress measured by using a cantilever beam technique. The surface amorphization that occurred only by the implantation at 100 K and at doses larger than 2×10s15 Ni cm–2 reduced the hardness to 0.6 relative to the value of the unimplanted sapphire, and considerably increased the surface plasticity. Furthermore, the amorphization was found to involve a large volume expansion of 30% and to change drastically the apparent shape and size of a Knoop indentation flaw made prior to implantation. This effect was suggested to reduce stress concentrations at surface flaws and hence to increase the flexural strength.  相似文献

Single-crystal alumina was implanted firstly with 400 keV Si+ and subsequently with N2 + ions and then annealed at 1673 K in an No atmosphre. The implanted layers were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction, Rutherford backscattering-channelling of 2 MeV He+ ions, and the resonance nuclear reaction15N(p,)12C. The annealing of sapphire implanted at ambient temperature resulted in the formation of-sialon, a solid solution of-silicon nitride and alumina in the subsurface layer, while implantation at 100 K resulted in the formation of aluminium oxynitride in the surface layer. In the latter case, the implanted silicon atoms were believed not to react vxi1h the implanted nitrogen atoms but with the substrate oxygen atoms. These crystalline precipitates were found to have epitaxial relations with the sapphire substrate.  相似文献

The Sn−Ti−Zn ternary phase diagram has been constructed using the CALPHAD technique. The Ti−Zn binary system phase boundaries were determined using differential scanning calorimetry and the solid-liquid diffusion couples method. In addition, the formation energy of some stoichiometric compounds was obtained using first-principle band energy calculations. For the ternary system, some alloys were prepared by equilibration at 600 or 700 °C, and the compositions of the precipitates were analyzed using electron probe microanalysis. Thermodynamic assessment of the Ti−Zn and Sn−Ti−Zn systems was performed based on the experimental information and by adopting reported values of the thermodynamic properties of the Sn−Zn and Sn−Ti binary systems. Microstructural observation showed that Sn3Ti5Zn12 exists in the ternary system. Seven types of invariant reaction on the Sn-rich liquidus surface of the ternary system are predicted by the phase diagram calculations. The ternary eutectic point falls at 0,0009 mass% Ti and 8.69 mass% Zn, at T=192.40°C, which is slightly lower than the calculated eutectic point of Sn−Zn binary alloy (T=192.41°C). Based on these results, a nonequilibrium solidification process using the Scheil model was simulated. OBJECTIVE: We previously showed that in asphyxiated fetal lambs the duration of hypotension correlated well with the severity of histologic damage to the brain, whereas the duration of bradycardia did not. This study compares fetal heart rate patterns with the degree of histologic damage to the brain. STUDY DESIGN: Twelve chronically instrumented near-term fetal lambs were subjected to asphyxia by umbilical cord occlusion until fetal arterial pH was <6. 9 and base excess was <-20 mEq/L. An additional 4 fetuses served as sham-asphyxia controls. Fetal heart rate (from electrocardiogram), arterial blood pressure, fetal breathing movements, and electrocorticogram were continuously monitored before, during, and for 72 hours after asphyxia. Fetal brain histologic features were categorized as mild (group 1, n = 5), moderate (group 2, n = 4), and severe (group 3, n = 3). Long-term fetal heart rate variability expressed as amplitude range was assessed visually every 5 minutes from 30 minutes before asphyxia until 2 hours of recovery and at 6, 12, 24, 48, and 72 hours of recovery. RESULTS: Long-term fetal heart rate variability amplitude decreased from 32 +/- 17 beats/min (mean +/- SEM) preocclusion to 4 +/- 13 beats/min at the end of occlusion (P <.001) without significant differences among the 3 groups. During 10 to 45 minutes of recovery, the long-term variability of group 1 was significantly greater than that of groups 2 and 3. At 24 to 72 hours of recovery, the long-term variability of groups 1 and 2 was significantly higher than that of group 3, which was almost 0. The "checkmark" and sinusoidal fetal heart rate patterns were observed during the recovery period in groups 2 and 3. CONCLUSIONS: Decreased long-term fetal heart rate variability and the "checkmark" and sinusoidal fetal heart rate patterns were indicators of the severity of asphyxial histologic damage in the fetal brain.  相似文献

Renal glomerular fibrosis was observed in a 1-year-old spayed female Japanese domestic cat that showed clinically advanced renal failure. In the glomeruli, increased homogeneous materials were stained strongly with aniline blue by Masson's trichrome and positive for anti-type III collagen antibody by immunohistochemical staining, causing mesangial sclerosis and capillary collapse. By electron microscopy, randomly arranged fibrils were observed in the expanded subendothelial and mesangial areas, and the fibrils showed periodicity characteristic of collagen fibers in longitudinal sections. These findings of glomerular lesions closely resemble those of human "collagenofibrotic glomerulonephropathy," which has recently been described as a new type of glomerulonephropathy.  相似文献

The virtual diving experience learning system of “Ama”, Japanese traditional female divers, has been developed to simulate how divers move in a virtual space using the diving interface and utilizing an accelerometer and a gyroscope. This interface not only detects the diving motion but also outputs the movement. Diving motion is shown in the ways of hand motion while standing. Although this makes it possible for a learner to understand the divers’ actions more clearly, this system’s difficulty is in visualizing a divers’ actions including their hands or bodies. Therefore, our study focuses on developing the operation system to reproduce actual ways of Amas’ diving with a virtual human body in a virtual space. First, the motion capture was done in an underwater condition. In the next process, the virtual human body was created. Finally, with the motion viewer, the more vivid actions of the Ama were successfully reproduced much more than in previous attempts. Using this system, the effectiveness of the Amas’ movement learning was confirmed, because a learner practices Amas’ movement.  相似文献

The electrical conductivity of XNa2O·(100–X)GeO2 glasses where X is 0.19 and 27.5 mol%, was studied by means of the technique of thermally stimulated polarization current. The compositional dependence of the parameter 0 T/n 1/3, where 0 is the preexponential facor for conductivity and n is the nominal concentration of sodium ions, suggests that these glasses contain some sort of inhomogeneities. This suggestion is supported by the phase diagram.  相似文献

The sintering mechanism of hydroxyapatite (HAp) by addition of lithium phosphate (Li3PO4) has been investigated. Using the X-ray diffraction method, HAp was confirmed to decompose into -Ca3(PO4)2 (-TCP) by addition of Li3PO4. The measurement of shrinkage rate by the isothermal firing made it clear that the densification process at the initial stage of sintering took place in the presence of liquid phase. Furthermore, the examination of the phase diagram on the binary system -TCP-Li3PO4 revealed that there was an eutectic point at 1010°C in the composition of 60 wt% Li3PO4. From these evidences, we concluded that -TCP produced by the decomposition of a part of HAp has formed the liquid phase by reacting with Li3PO4 above 1010°C, and that this liquid phase has largely promoted the densification by the rearrangement of HAp particles at the initial stage of sintering.  相似文献

用超声疲劳试验研究了金属注射成形(MIM)冷作工具钢和锻轧钢(JIS SKD11)的高周疲劳性能。锻轧钢试样于423K回火1h。另一方面,为了评估回火温度对疲劳性能的影响,将MIM钢试样于不同温度下进行了回火。在N=103~108疲劳寿命范围内进行了超声疲劳试验。MIM钢试样的疲劳强度和锻轧钢试样相同。MIM钢试样的疲劳强度随着回火温度升高而减低。显微组织的观察结果表明,MIM钢试样的碳化物的直径与形状比锻轧钢试样的均一。  相似文献

A practical method for a noncontacting and real-time feature extraction for personal authentication is proposed. The finger geometry and feature extraction of the palmar flexion creases are integrated into a small number of discrete points based on the anatomical observation. For a video image of either palm, a palm placed freely facing toward a video camera is acquired. The fingers are brought together, and the palm is straightened out to eliminate any constraints. The discrete feature points for the fingers involve intersection points of the three finger (digital) flexion creases on the four finger skeletal lines. The feature points for the palm involve intersection points of the major palmar flexion creases and/or prominent creases of the palm on the extended finger skeletal lines. The orientations of the creases at the intersection points are also extracted features to be matched. The matching results are perfect for about 500 palm samples from 50 subjects so far. This discrete point processing, requiring no time-consumptive palmprint image analysis and requiring less than one second processing time, will contribute to a noncontacting, real-time and reliable feature extraction, easily combinable with other traits, for the personal authentication.  相似文献
