This study examines the role of learned societies as publishers in Finland based on bibliographic information from two Finnish databases. We studied the share of learned societies' peer‐reviewed publication channels (serials with ISSNs and book publishers with distinct ISBN roots) and outputs (journal articles, conference articles, book articles, and monographs) in Finland. We also studied the share of learned societies' open access (OA) publications. In 2018, there were 402 peer‐reviewed publication channels in Finland. In 2011–2017, the number of peer‐reviewed publications from scholars working in Finnish universities and published in Finland was 17,724. Learned societies publish around 70% of these channels and publications, mostly in the fields of humanities and social sciences. Learned societies in Finland focus on journal publishing, whereas university presses and commercial publishers focus on book publishing. In 2016–2017, 38.4% of the learned societies' outputs were OA. This study concludes that Finnish learned societies play an integral part in national scholarly publishing. They play an especially important role in journal publishing, as commercial publishers produce only 2.6% of Finnish journals and book series, and only 1.4% of the journal articles from scholars working in Finnish universities.  相似文献

[目的/意义]回顾图情档学科五年内的研究进展,有助于掌握本领域知识域的结构与演变。[方法/过程]使用文献计量法,对近5年图情档学科领域的20种中文期刊文献,从发文总量、高被引论文、学术影响力、研究热点及研究趋势预测等角度进行计量研究。[结果/结论]研究发现中文期刊发文量逐年下降,外文论文发文量年度占比逐年增长,领域内研究逐渐与国际接轨;学科领域持续跟进基础理论研究和实践创新研究,对数据研究、数字人文也保持着高度关注;处于数字与数据化的环境中,图情档学科领域亟待完成学科体系与能力的重构,趋向于数据科学和大数据方向;领域研究更加关注用户体验和信息资源共建共享。  相似文献

The growing complexity of scientific challenges demands increasingly intense research collaboration, both domestic and international. The resulting trend affects not only the modes of producing new knowledge, but also the way it is disseminated within scientific communities. This paper analyses the relationship between the “degree of internationalization” of a country’s scientific production and that of the relevant citing publications. The empirical analysis is based on 2010-2012 Italian publications. Findings show: i) the probability of being cited increases with the degree of internationalization of the research team; ii) totally domestic research teams tend to cite to a greater extent totally domestic publications; iii) vice versa, publications resulting from international collaborations tend to be more cited by totally foreign publications rather than by publications including domestic authors. These results emerge both at overall and at discipline level. Findings might inform research policies geared towards internationalization.  相似文献

优质稿源是科技期刊的生命线。本文以中国知网为检索平台,统计了1998—2017年计算机科学技术类中文期刊的发文情况。分析了综合评价总分排名前3位的期刊发文量和第一著作单位分布情况,以及10种中间地位核心期刊的年发文量趋势。在统计的13种样本期刊中有11种期刊2017年度总发文量较近10年间最高年发文量下降幅度超过20%,其中有4种期刊下降幅度甚至超过50%;第一著作单位是中国科学院和985高校的发文数量更是明显减少,在学科综合评价总分排名前三位的期刊中占全年总发文量的比例已经降低至60%以下。统计结果表明:优质稿源外流现象非常严重。同时也反映了中国科技核心技术的外流、中国国家实力和宝藏资源等信息的外泄,必将严重影响我国的国际竞争力,甚至威胁国家安全。期待高层决策者和政策制订者及时调整科技发展政策,建立具有中国特色的科研评价体系,为我国科技独立自主发展、研发核心技术、走自主创新之路提供条件和环境,最终造福社会、造福百姓。  相似文献

This paper analyses the publication patterns of researchers in the field of applied sciences at Universities of Technology in South Africa. Aspects investigated include publications in SCOPUS-listed journals; number of citations and countries of publication. Collaborative research patterns at national and international levels were also investigated. A bibliometric analysis approach was followed using SCOPUS as the main source of data and analysing the articles published in selected applied science disciplines. Results show that researchers in the field of applied sciences in universities of technology have increased their number of publications over the past 10?years and are also working in conjunction with other researchers both nationally and internationally. The analysis is an important addition to the field in South Africa which helps in measuring how institutions are positively responding to government incentives in research. The results are also important to information professionals who are increasingly playing an important role in research impact assessments.  相似文献

以《中国生物医学光盘文献数据库(CBMdisc)》为数据源,对国内各医药卫生类期刊1996-2006年发表的军事训练医学类文献进行统计。1996-2006年中国军事训练医学文献分布呈缓慢增长趋势,2000年开始增长速度加快,著者分布相对分散,期刊分布相对集中,医学院校和研究所文献发表量相对较多,所涉研究获得国家或军队方面的资助比重不高。文献研究的主题多与军事训练伤的防治、病因学及流行病学调查、心理学研究密切相关,与军事训练伤的实验室技术和方法、诊断学、生物力学、环境医学等方面的相关性较低。  相似文献

The purpose of this research is to study co-authorship and scientific publications of faculty members at Shahed University, located in Iran, during the period of 2000 to 2008. Scientometrics methods were used to evaluate scientific publications. The rate of co-authorship is high (91.27%) in comparison with single authorship (8.73%). Moreover, there is a great number of scientific collaborations among Shahed University faculty members but international collaboration is low. The article provides insight into co-authorship at Shahed University and provides useful information for researchers who are seeking to learn about the collaboration in scientific works by Iranian researchers at the national and international levels.  相似文献

The tacit nature of knowledge suggests that face-to-face interactions in international academic collaborations are irreplaceable. Yet, such anecdotal evidence has not been adequately examined in the extant literature. Using the difference-in-differences estimation strategy, this paper investigates the causal effect of international nonstop flights on the quantity of high-impact Sino-US joint publications over the period between January 2009 and December 2018. We find that, on average, US-China international nonstop flights boost the production of influential articles aggregated at Chinese cities, with cities with less human capital earning more benefits. We do not find evidence in support of the crowding-out effect indicating this positive effect comes at the expense of domestic and international collaboration opportunities with other countries. These findings remain robust with various specifications. Policy implications for promoting global collaboration through face-to-face communication are discussed in the end.  相似文献

科学研究的目的在于创造知识,并应用理论成果解决我国社会、经济、文化等发展中的实际问题。将论文发表在国际期刊上可以让更多的国际同行了解我国最新的科研成果,为我国获得更多的国际影响力,所以在过去二十多年里SCI论文成为我国科研考核的一个重要指标。在这种科研评价导向下,我国学者发表的国际论文数量已居世界第一位,而大量来自国内同行的引用使得我国国际论文的被引量排名世界第二。本文提取1990至2015年Web of Science论文及其引文的数据,分析不同国家、不同学科在国家层次的自引情况,并在不同国家、不同学科之间进行比较。研究发现,在排除国内同行的自引后,我国国际论文的真实国际影响力仍然有限,除了临床医学和物理等少数学科外,其他学科仍然低于全球平均水平。  相似文献

以儿科、外科、内科、放射、口腔5个学科发文最多的10位专家为研究对象,对这些高产作者在中文期刊和SCI期刊发表论文的情况进行对比分析。数据显示:1)2000—2012年,本研究的目标作者在SCI收录期刊发表论文的数量低于万方数据库,国内科学领域主要的学术交流平台仍是中文期刊。2)目标作者在SCI收录期刊发表论文呈逐年上升趋势,而我国的中文期刊发表的论文,在2006年进入平台期,随后呈下降趋势。2012年,5个学科SCI论文与中文期刊论文篇数基本相等。3)目标作者的SCI论文的被引频次中37.96%为国内作者引用。4)与中国科技论文外流整体情况比较,医学优秀论文外流更为严重。  相似文献

以教育部公布的2009年1月前进入“211工程”大学的100种自然科学类学报为研究对象,统计各学报的载文量和基金论文比,根据文献计量学原理并参考相关文献进行分析。结果显示:100种“211工程”大学自然科学类学报的刊均载文量为229.55篇,刊均基金论文比为77.7%。不同学科和地域的学报载文量和基金论文比差别均较大,且不同学科的载文量与其基金论文比基本相反,即载文量越大基金论文比越低。从基金论文比来看,“211工程”大学学报的学术质量可以称得上是我国高校学报学术质量的最高水平。  相似文献

The study explores the characteristics of China's independent research articles published from 1980 to 2011, based on the database of Science Citation Index Expanded. The publication outputs of seven major industrialized countries including Canada, France, Japan, Germany, Italy, the UK, and the USA were compared with China. Annual production, field performance, research emphases and trends, top articles, as well as main institutional and individual contributors by its top cited articles were analyzed. Some newly developed indicators related to words in title, author keywords, KeyWords Plus, first author, corresponding author, and Y-index were employed to provide in-depth information on topic and author contributions. Results showed that China has been closing the gap with the USA with the greatest growth, and has stood the second since 2006. Most top cited articles were published in 2000s, made up approximately seven tenths of total articles. Pronounced activities were found in chemistry and physics related categories. The core categories included multidisciplinary chemistry, physical chemistry, multidisciplinary materials science, and applied physics. Moreover, China's performance of nanotechnology and science, especially carbon nanotubes, nanoparticles, nanowires, and nanostructures showed dramatic growth. Six top articles with at least 1000 citations were examined, and were observed to concern medicine, nanotube, and adsorption. In addition, main contributing institutions and authors were also revealed and evaluated. Chinese Academy of Sciences played a dominant role, and Tsinghua University, Peking University and five universities in Hong Kong showed good scientific performance.  相似文献

采用文献统计与分析法,对1978-2013年间的高校科技期刊发展概况进行考查,并从其创刊类型、出版地域、主办机构、创刊年份、刊期与语种等方面加以分析.结果表明:在改革开放以后新创办的1 020种高校科技期刊中,工、农、医、自然综合类学科占总数的81.9%;北京、湖北、江苏、上海、陕西等10省市创办期刊数量占全国的57.8%;1979-1988年创刊数量达到559种,占到一半以上,是高校科技期刊增长速度最快的时期,90年代后增长速度放缓,转而调整办刊思路.我们认为,进入新世纪,我国高校科技期刊规模基本成型,必须由规模扩张向内涵发展转型,积极推进“走出去”战略,走数字化出版道路,全面提升我国高校科技期刊的竞争力.  相似文献

通过Web of Science数据库的“被引参考文献检索”途径,将中华医学会123种非SCI期刊作为国内大量的非SCI科技期刊的代表,统计其刊载文献被SCI期刊引用的情况;以被引文献数量大于50篇作为高影响力期刊的筛选条件,分析其中高影响力期刊的被引文献数量、单篇被引文献最高引用频次、施引文献数量、施引文献最高被引频次以及施引文献的国家地区分布、出版年份分布,从而了解这些非SCI科技期刊的国际影响力.基于这一分析,认为SCI期刊并非是获得同行认可的唯一途径,国内大量的非SCI科技期刊应走“立足国内,面向世界”的发展道路,以踏实做专业领域内有影响力的期刊为目标;同时呼吁国家有关部门能对现行科研评价指标进行调整,鼓励质量上乘的稿件能选择具有影响力的国内期刊发表.  相似文献

从定量分析的角度对科技论文外流的特点、科技论文外流的文献经济损失构成及深层次原因进行剖析.研究发现:各单位制定的科研评价政策,其主要依据为SCI论文及影响因子.在此科研评价导向的作用下,67.59%的作者选择国外期刊投稿,16.39%选择国内中文刊,仅有0.3%选择国内英文刊,导致国内期刊优秀稿源匮乏.认为端正科研导向、创办具有国际知名的英文刊是抑制优秀稿源外流的主要措施.  相似文献

The use of a new option of the Web of Science (WOS) database is discussed, which provides the ability to collect the bibliometric statistics of funding agencies. The method of searching using this option is described in detail, as well as problems of identification of the same fund due to numerous English-language versions of its name spelling. The analysis of 26500 domestic articles was performed for 2008 using the Research Analysis option. About 23.4% (6830) of the articles were financed by different funds; about 4600 articles were published by grant holders of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research. The desire of Russian researchers to obtain additional financing sources and a wide network of international scientific connections is proved by their participation in numerous foreign organizations (funds, universities, and ministries) in 72 countries during the performance of research.  相似文献

This study explores the impact of different collaboration modes on the cited frequency of publications. Though several studies have obtained some research results, most of them exploit association or regression-based methods, which may not lead to causal conclusions. To overcome the above challenges, we use the Propensity Score Matching (PSM) method to analyze and compare the citation frequencies resulting from four groups of collaboration models: international versus domestic, international multilateral versus international bilateral, domestic inter-organizational versus domestic intra-organizational, and domestic multi-author versus domestic single-author. More specifically, we conduct this analysis by exploring the publications with three computer science subfields from the Web of Science (WoS) database. The experimental results show that international collaboration, especially international multilateral collaboration, has a significant role in increasing the frequency of citations to scientific publications, showing that internationalization and collaboration are critical factors in the growth of the impact of the papers. Among national co-publications, collaborative publications within national organizations receive a higher citation impact. Multi-author collaborations significantly increase citation frequency compared to single-author publications. Our heterogeneity analysis across the different subfields of the computer science domain finds that the treatment effects for the three subfields differ modestly and mostly significant from the whole sample. Moreover, besides the implications for developing research policy and scientist collaboration, our study can capture the causal effect between author collaboration patterns and citation frequency to reveal their causal effects.  相似文献

The development of nanotechnology and the growth of investment in this field are briefly surveyed based on a bibliometric analysis using Science Citation Index (SCI) database entering into the Web of Science (WOS) online academic database, with special emphasis on the positions of Russian researchers in modern nano-and bionanotechnology (BNT). The flow of domestic BNT publications over a period from 1995 to 2006 has been analyzed at three-year intervals. The search in SCI over this period of time yielded more than 19.2 thousand articles pertaining to the field under consideration. Russia is still among 50 leading countries with respect to a broad spectrum of research in nanoscience and nanotechnology. However, the growth rate of domestic publications among those covered by the WOS database lags significantly behind that of the publications from United States and China. The Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) is a leader among the domestic institutions engaged in nanoscience and BNT, despite some decrease in the proportion of RAS publications in the total world flow. The results of domestic investigations in BNT are primarily published in the world leading journals on the chemistry and materials science.  相似文献
