The asymptotic and numerical investigations of shock-induced boundary layers in gas-particle mixtures are presented. The Saffman lift force acting on a particle in a shear flow istaken into account. It is shown that particle migration across the boundary layer leads tointersections of particle trajectories. The corresponding modification of dusty gas model isproposed in this paper. The equations of two-phase sidewall boundary layer behind a shock wave moving at aconstant speed are obtained by using the method of matched asymptotic expansions.Themethod of the calculation of particle phase parameters in Lagrangian coordinates isdescribed in detail. Some numerical results for the case of small particle concentration aregiven.  相似文献

An unsteady gas-particle flow in a hypersonic shock tunnel is studied numerically. The study is performed in the period from the instant when the diaphragm between the high-pressure and low-pressure chambers is opened until the end of the transition to a quasi-steady flow in the test section. The dispersed phase concentration is extremely low, and the collisions between the particles and their effect on the carrier gas flow are ignored. The particle size is varied. The time evolution of the particle concentration in the test section is obtained. Patterns of the quasi-steady flow of the dispersed phase in the throat of the Laval nozzle and the flow around a model (sphere) are presented. Particle concentration and particle velocity lag profiles at the test-section entrance are obtained. The particle-phase flow structure and the time needed for it to reach a quasi-steady regime are found to depend substantially on the particle size. __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika i Tekhnicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 49, No. 5, pp. 102–113, September–October, 2008.  相似文献

An improved drag force coefficient of gas-particle interaction based on the traditional Wen’s 1966 model is proposed. In this model, a two-stage continuous function is used to correct the discontinuous switch when porosity less than 0.2. Using this proposed correlation and the Wen’s 1966 model, a gas-particle kinetic energy and particle temperature model is developed to predict the hydrodynamic characteristics in backward-facing step gas-particle two-phase turbulent flows. Numerically results showed that they are in good agreement with experiment measurements and presented model are better due to a improvement of momentum transport between gas and particle phases. Particle dispersions take on the distinctively anisotropic behaviors at every directions and gas phase fluctuation velocity are about twice larger than particle phases. Particle phase has a unique transportation mechanism and completely different from the gas phase due to different density. Furthermore, the correlation values of axial–axial gas-particle are always greater than the radial–radial values at fully flow regions. The gas-particle two-phase interactions will make influence on two-phase turbulent flow behaviors.  相似文献

An analysis of the erosion behaviour of a turbocharger radial turbine is presented. The solution domain includes both sides of the radial turbine scroll with double intake and the rotor channel. In the analysis a dilute gas-particle flow assumption is employed. The gas turbulence is defined by the k-ε model. In solving the gas phase equation, the computer code Harwell-FLOW3D is employed, which is based on a finite volume formulation using non-orthogonal body-fitted structured gridding and a pressure correction method. The particle phase is described by a Lagrangian approach, while particle paths are computed deterministically, neglecting the turbulent dispersion. For the computation of particle trajectories the code PTRACK is employed, which has been developed at ABB. Computations are carried out for several particle size classes. The results show that particles are thrown back into the scroll by the rotor at high rates. This seems to be the main source of erosion effects in the scroll. It has been observed that particles are unequally distributed between the scroll sides on their re-entry, resulting in greater erosion on one of the scroll sides. The maximum erosion along the scroll is found to be likely to occur near the scroll end.  相似文献

The interaction of a uniform hypersonic gas flow with a supersonic two-phase gas-particle source is considered. In the symmetry-axis neighborhood between the bow and termination shock waves, an approximate analytical solution for the carrier-phase parameters is found. On the basis of parametric numerical calculations, the behavior of the particle trajectories and the concentration distribution in the shock layers are studied for both continuum and free-molecule flow regimes around the particles. The appearance of regions with multiple intersections of the particle trajectories and the formation of "layer structures" in the particle concentration distributions (particle accumulation regions near the envelopes of the particle trajectories) are indicated. The dependence of the number of the high concentration layers on the governing parameters is studied. Moscow. A numerical formulation for Eulerian–Lagrangian simulations of particle-laden flows in complex geometries is developed. The formulation accounts for the finite-size of the dispersed phase. Similar to the commonly used point-particle formulation, the dispersed particles are treated as point-sources, and the forces acting on the particles are modeled through drag and lift correlations. In addition to the inter-phase momentum exchange, the presence of particles affects the fluid phase continuity and momentum equations through the displaced fluid volume. Three flow configurations are considered in order to study the effect of finite particle size on the overall flowfield: (a) gravitational settling, (b) fluidization by a gaseous jet, and (c) fluidization by lift in a channel. The finite-size formulation is compared to point-particle representations, which do not account for the effect of finite-size. It is shown that the fluid displaced by the particles plays an important role in predicting the correct behavior of particle motion. The results suggest that the standard point-particle approach should be modified to account for finite particle size, in simulations of particle-laden flows.  相似文献

The three-dimension gas-particle flow in a spiral cyclone is simulated numerically in this paper. The gas flow field was obtained by solving the three-dimension Navier-Stokes equations with Reynolds Stress Model (RSM). It is shown that there are two regions in the cyclone, the steadily tangential flow in the spiral channel and the combined vortex flow in the centre. Numerical results for particles trajectories show that the initial position of the particle at the inlet plane substantially affects its trajectory in the cyclone. The particle collection efficiency curves at different inlet velocities were obtained and the effects of inlet flow rate on the performance of the spiral cyclone were presented. Numerical results also show that the increase of flow rate leads to the increase of particles collection efficiency, but the pressure drop increases sharply.  相似文献

In this paper, a steady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of a dusty incompressible electrically conducting Oldroyd 8-constant fluid through a circular pipe is examined with considering the ion slip effect. A constant pressure gradient in the axial direction and an external uniform magnetic field in the perpendicular direction are applied. A numerical solution is obtained for the governing nonlinear momentum equations by using finite differences. The effect of the ion slip, the non-Newtonian fluid characteristics, and the particle-phase viscosity on the velocity, volumetric flow rates, and skin friction coefficients of both the fluid and particle phases is reported.  相似文献

This paper presents a review of authors' collective works in the field of two-phase flow modeling done in the past few decades. The paper is aimed at the construction of mathematical models for simulation of particle-laden turbulent flows. A kinetic equation was obtained for the probability density function (PDF) of the particle velocity distribution in turbulent flows. The proposed kinetic equation describes both the interaction of particles with turbulent eddies of the carrier phase and particle-particle collisions. This PDF equation is used for the derivation of different schemes describing turbulent momentum transfer in the dispersed particle phase. The turbulent characteristics of the gaseous phase are calculated on the basis of the k - turbulence model with a modulation effect of particles on the turbulence.

The constructed models have been applied to the calculation of various two-phase gas-particle turbulent flows in jets and channels as well as particle deposition in tubes and separators. For validating the theoretical and numerical results, a wide range of comparisons with experimental data from Russian and foreign sources has been done.  相似文献
