China Brings in More Crude Oil in 2006

Venezuela plans to increase its oil sales to China by 50,000 barrels a day by the end of the year, the country＇s oil minister Rafael Ramirez said in mid-August. Venezuela＇s state oil company, Petroleos de Venezuela SA, will increase sales to China to 200,000 barrels a day from the current 150,000 barrels per day. The shipments include crude and other products, such as fuel oil.     

PetroChina More Active in Gas Operation in SW China

Build new LNG terminal PetroChina is planning to construct a liquefied natural gas （LNG） terminal at a port in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the southwestern part of China. The proposal was disclosed by Wu Enlai, general manager of PetroChina＇s Guangxi subsidiary, at the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation Forum held in late-July in the regional capital of Nanning. ＂With its geographic convenience, the suggested LNG project can be supplied by Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Middle East and Africa,＂ said Wu, who added the new LNG project was still at the feasibility study stage.[第一段]     

Occurrence of aflatoxin M1 in pasteurized and UHT milks in China in 2014–2015

This survey was performed to assess the safety of milk in China, specifically by assessing the presence of aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) residues in pasteurized and ultra high temperature (UHT) milk. In 2014–2015, 193 samples of UHT milk were collected from different cities in China. In 2015, 38 samples of pasteurized milk were collected from different cities in China. AFM1 was detected using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AFM1 positivity was defined as a concentration exceeding the detection limit of the assay (0.005 μg/kg). Other cut-offs that were used were the legal AFM1 limits in the European Union (EU) and China (0.05 and 0.5 μg/kg, respectively). In 2014 and 2015, 88.6% and 59.6% of UHT milk samples were AFM1-positive, respectively. The pasteurized milk samples were less frequently AFM1-positive (47.4%). In 11.9% of the 2014–2015 UHT milk samples, the AFM1 levels exceeded the EU limit. This is lower than the frequency we recorded in 2010 (20.3%). None of the pasteurized milk samples exceeded the EU limit in 2015. The UHT milk samples from the north of China were less likely to be contaminated than the samples from the south in both 2014 and 2015. None of the samples exceeded the Chinese legal limit.

The Reference Value for Biomonitoring in Chemicals Risk Area in Thailand

The workers’biological standard value(WBSV)is generally used to assess chemicals health risks in community.It may cause the deviate biomonitoring.Therefore,this study was aimed to set the pilot reference value for exposed people to chemicals.The study was divided into three phases:the two phases for field-study method and one phase for stakeholder’s adoption.Phase I was proceeded in one industrial zone in Thailand during the years 2012-2014 to collect blood and urine samples of 402 working-age people in community accompanied with in-depth interview.The 4 heavy metals(arsenic,cadmium,lead,mercury)in blood and urine were analyzed by atomic absorption spectroscopy(AAS)analysis and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS).The metabolites of 4 volatile organic compounds(VOCs,benzene,toluene,styrene,xylenes)in urine were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)analysis.The 8 chemicals concentrations of the volunteers’average chemicals concentration(VACC)were calculated.Phase II was proceeded during the years 2015-2016 to compare risk group identification between usage of VACC and usage of WBSV.The results were presented in mean value,standard deviation,percentage,and significant.The results showed approximately 90 percent of VACCs were lower than WBSV.The exceptional result was volunteers’average urinary arsenic concentration.It was clearly higher than WBSV.The comparative results showed the adjusted amount of risk people by VACC was higher than the adjusted amount risk people by WBSV.Phase III was proceeded in the year 2017 for stakeholder’s adoption.This study indicated that general people’s average chemicals concentration should be used as the reference value for biomonitoring and active health surveillance.

Genesis Types and Diagenesis Compaction Mechanisms of Sandstone Rreservoirs in Dynamic Environments in Oil/Gas Basins in China

1. Introduction The significant characteristic of sandstone diagenesis in a sedimentary basin is the gradual reduction of pore volume in sandstone with the progression of burial diagenesis. The main causes for the change of pore volume in sandstone are compaction, pressure dissolution and authigenic cementation (Liu, 1992). Evaluation and prevention of formation damage in offshore sandstone reservoirs in China

Reduction in water injectivity would be harmful to the waterflood development of offshore sandstone oil reservoirs. In this paper the magnitude of formation damage during water injection was evaluated by analyzing the performance of water injection in the Bohai offshore oilfield, China. Two parameters, permeability reduction and rate of wellhead pressure rise, were proposed to evaluate the formation damage around injection wells. The pressure performance curve could be divided into three stages with different characteristics. Analysis of field data shows that formation damage caused by water injection was severe in some wells in the Bohai offshore oilfield, China. In the laboratory, the content of clay minerals in reservoir rock was analyzed and sensitivity tests （including sensitivity to water, ftow rate, alkali, salt and acid） were also conducted. Experimental results show that the reservoir had a strong to medium sensitivity to water （i.e. clay swelling） and a strong to medium sensitivity to flow rate, which may cause formation damage. For formation damage prevention, three injection schemes of clay stabilizer （CS） were studied, i.e. continuous injection of low concentration CS （CI）, slug injection of high concentration CS （SI）, and slug injection of high concentration CS followed by continuous injection of low concentration CS （SI-CI）. Core flooding experiments show that SI-CI is an effective scheme to prevent formation damage and is recommended for the sandstone oil reservoirs in the Bohai offshore oilfield during water injection.

Aflatoxins in rice – A limited survey of products marketed in Austria

Eighty-one rice samples were purchased from different markets in Vienna and were analysed for their aflatoxin content. The samples were extracted using methanol in water (80/20 v/v) followed by immunoaffinity clean up. The determination was carried out by HPLC–FLD coupled to a Kobracell. Different samples including basmati rice, whole grain rice, long grain rice, short grain rice as well as puffed rice were investigated. Moreover, conventionally and organically produced rice were compared. The results revealed that 24 out of 81 samples contained detectable amounts of aflatoxins. Aflatoxin B₁ could be quantified in 15 samples and aflatoxin B₂ in one sample. The contamination range was noted to be between 0.45 μg kg⁻¹ and 9.86 μg kg⁻¹ for aflatoxin B₁ and 1.5 μg kg⁻¹ for aflatoxin B₂. Aflatoxins G₁ and G₂ were not detected in any sample. Three samples exceeded the maximum levels set in the European Union; having AFB₁ concentrations of 2.16, 2.85 and 9.86 μg kg⁻¹. In the three organic produced rice samples only traces of aflatoxins were found.
