Since May, 1978, a block of flats in Dortmund, Western Germany, has had heating and hot water supplied by an air-to-water heat pump driven by a gas engine. Capacity is 465 kW and the unit has been able to provided this service unaided by supplementary heating with external temperatures as low as — 12 °C. How the installation has performed in use, saving 50 per cent of primary energy compared with conventional methods, is explained here by technical officers of the Dortmund Public Works Department.  相似文献

The requirements for data to enable designs, performance predictions, and cost analyses to be made for passive solar buildings are considered in the context of the requirements for a representative selection of other solar energy applications. It is shown that the measurements needed at this point in time range from samples of precise details of certain characteristics of solar radiation at time intervals of a few seconds, to estimated solar parameters typical of general climatic conditions at seasonal intervals over time periods of decades. It is concluded that no single set of instruments or data base will ever satisfy the requirements of all potential users. Data requirements are classified under four broad categories and a strategy is suggested whereby specific requirements for data could be obtained at an acceptable cost and accuracy within the framework of a national monitoring network.  相似文献

Because the heat pump has a very high capital cost compared with other forms of space heating, and also because the peak space heating demand in the U.K. only occurs for a few hours in the year, it has become recognised practice to install low capital cost supplementary electric heating to meet peak demands. A technique is described which optimizes the mix of heat pump and supplementary capacity to minimize the total cost of operation. A simulation model is employed which uses a weather tape containing hourly outside air temperatures to generate a space heating demand profile for a building of known thermal characteristics. The technique specifically allows the examination of intermittent heating, and in this paper is applied to a small factory operating on a variety of shift patterns. This application is of particular interest because it considers the effect of maximum demand charges on the economics of heat pump space heating systems. It is concluded that the optimum heat pump capacity depends strongly upon the length of shift, and that optimum oversizing of the heat pump system for intermittent heating appears to be lower than for conventional heating systems as a result of maximum demand pricing.  相似文献

The article describes the economy of exploiting heat from low-temperature geothermal sources for high-temperature heating of buildings using a heat pump. For the exploitation of low-temperature geothermal sources, a two stage heat pump with a heat exchanger was planned. The pump consists of two single stage heat pumps which use different refrigerants at each stage. At stage 1, the calculation of the heat pump is conducted with refrigerant R407c; at stage 2 of the heat pump, the refrigerant R600a is used. The main operational characteristics of a two stage heat pump are presented in the form of diagrams. For the exploitation of heat from geothermal water with a temperature of 45 °C, a profitability evaluation of the investment in the heat pump was carried out, using the method of the net present value. In the research, also the coefficient of profitability and the period of time in which the investment is going to return itself were established.  相似文献
