In an effort to compete with the high productivity of the LD basic oxygen process, more and more open-hearth operators have been resorting to oxygen lancing. But along with the increased productivity made possible by oxygen lancing, there is also the heavy, dark reddish iron-oxide plume that accompanies the furnace waste gas. Dry precipitators and wet scrubbers are among the techniques that have been developed to eliminate this plume. This summary article—based on papers presented at the 47th National Open Hearth and Basic Oxygen Steel Conference—describes such waste-gas cleaning systems installed at open-hearth shops operating with oxygen lances.  相似文献

与火焰炉热工有关的变量被划分为三类,即:(1)结构及操作参数;(2)热工过程参数;(3)生产指标,本文用解析法对以上三类变量进行了综合的研究。在几种典型情况下,将研究结果绘成图表,清楚地表明了火焰炉热工行为的特点。本文还用经验法研究了第(1)、(3)两类变量之间的关系,并在此基础上对一些生产性炉子进行了分析研究,指出了降低炉子燃料消耗的基本途径。所介绍的经验法是以现场生产数据为依据,不必使用测试工具,所以简单易行。  相似文献

Key performance indicators such as energy intensity, production (or melt rate), downtime (or OEE), and melt loss must all be understood and monitored on a weekly or monthly basis. Continuous process variables such as bath temperature, flue temperature, and furnace pressure should be used to control the furnace systems along with storing the values in databases for later analysis. The traditional artificial recognition methods for the blast furnace dust composition have several disadvantages, including a great deal of information to dispose, complex operation, and low working efficiency. In this article, a multifeature analysis method based on comprehensive image-processing techniques was proposed to automatically recognize the blast furnace dust composition. First, the artificial recognition and feature analysis, which included image preprocessing, Harris corner feature, Canny edge feature, and Ruffle feature analysis, was designed to build the template image, so that any unknown dust digital image could be tested. Second, the composition of coke, microvariation pulverized coal, vitric, ash, and iron from dust would be distinguished according to their different range of values based on the multifeature analysis. The method is valid for recognizing the blast furnace dust composition automatically, and it is fast and has a high recognition accuracy.  相似文献

An advanced, predictive technique has been developed using principal component analysis (PCA) together with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling to provide real-time monitoring and assessment of the performance and integrity of a water-cooled tapblock in a smelting furnace. A CFD model of a tapblock was built to simulate its thermal response to metal tapping for a range of furnace operating conditions and to assess the impact of process variations that are detrimental to furnace integrity. This information was then used to develop a PCA model that identifies modes of acceptable and unacceptable tapping operation based on the realtime analysis of the temperature measurements coming from the tapblock. The PCA model, when implemented into the control system, enables operators to monitor and diagnose the performance and integrity of the tapblock. For more information, contact T. An investigation was carried out to determine the variables affecting the coiling temperature of strip in the 56-in. hot strip mill. After statistical treatment, equations have been derived to determine the temperature drop between mill and coiler for both full spray (top and bottom) and top spray only practices. The individual influences of each variable in the temperature drop were derived for both practices. Limitations of the present practices were shown and adjustments in cooling for increased rolling speeds were suggested. A method of estimating the required number of sprays, their spacing, pressure, etc., to achieve a desired temperature drop is developed.  相似文献
