The influence of direct quenching on microstructure and mechanical properties of high performance steel plates for large oil
storage tanks was studied. The direct quenched and tempered (DQ&T) steel plates were rolled at different finish rolling temperatures
(1113 and 1173 K), and their microstructures and mechanical properties were compared with those of reheat quenched and tempered
(RQ&T) steel plate. The optical microscopy of the DQ steel shows deformed grains elongated along the rolling direction, while
complete equiaxed grains are visible in RQ steel. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) of the DQ steel shows refined lath
martensite with high density of dislocations, which acts as preferred precipitation sites for NbC or Nb(C,N) particles during
tempering. In all the plates, strength decreases with increasing tempering temperature. The strength of RQ steel increased
significantly compared with that of DQ steel at the higher tempering temperature, which leads to better tempering resistance
in DQ steels. The optimum combination of strength and toughness (yield strength (YS) reaches 585 MPa, tensile strength (TS)
667 MPa, and Charpy impact energy at 253 K of 291 J) in the DQ steels is achieved by quenching at 1113 K and tempering at

Study of adhesion of TiN grown on a polymer substrate 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
TiN films were deposited on polycarbonate substrates by cathodic vacuum arc using the plasma immersion ion implantation and deposition (PIII&D) method. The biaxial intrinsic stress in the film deposited using PIII&D with 3 kV applied bias was 0.3 GPa — much lower than that found in films deposited without the application of high-voltage pulsed bias. It was found that the dominant mechanism for generating stress in the TiN film was thermal stress arising from the large difference between the thermal expansion coefficient of TiN and that of the polymer. Tensile testing was used to ascertain film adhesion and a model was used to estimate the adhesion between the film and the substrate. It was found that PIII&D strongly reduced the stress in the TiN film and increased the adhesion to the polycarbonate. The ultimate shear strength of adhesion is of the same order of magnitude as that of TiN on stainless steel. 相似文献

ZrN and TiN films have been deposited on Si substrates without additional heating using plasma based ion implantation & deposition (PBII&D) with pulse voltage from 0 to 5 kV. High quality columnar films have been obtained in both systems with a slight nitrogen deficiency. For ZrN, a marked reduction of the growth rate was observed when depositing with pulse bias, which was not observed for TiN, caused presumably by different partial sputter yields. A transition of the texture from (111) to (200) is again present in both systems, however with the transition occurring at a different pulse bias. Hardness values of 18-20 GPa and 22-24 GPa have been observed for TiN and ZrN, respectively. 相似文献
