This paper deals with the application of Multilayer Perceptrons to radar detection. The dependence of the neural detector
performance on the network size and on the signal-to-noise ratio selected for training is considered. Multilayer Perceptrons
with different numbers of neurons in the hidden layer have been trained using different values of the signal-to-noise ratio
to minimize the mean square error using the error back-propagation algorithm. Results show that the higher the number of hidden
neurons, the closer the neural detector to the Neyman-Pearson optimum detector and the lower the dependence of the Multilayer
Perceptron performance on the signal-to-noise ratio selected for training. Due to its practical interest, the very low probability
of false alarm values has been considered. To estimate the probability of a false alarm, importance sampling techniques have
been used in order to reduce the computational cost of maintaining a low relative error.

Citations and related work are crucial in any research to position the work and to build on the work of others. A high citation count is an indication of the influence of specific articles. The importance of citations means that it is interesting to analyze which articles are cited the most. Such an analysis has been conducted using the ISI Web of Science to identify the most cited software engineering journal articles published in 2000. The objective of the analysis is to identify and list the articles that have influenced others the most as measured by citation count. An understanding of which research is viewed by the research community as most valuable to build upon may provide valuable insights into what research to focus on now and in the future. Based on the analysis, a list of the 20 most cited articles is presented here. The intention of the analysis is twofold. First, to identify the most cited articles, and second, to invite the authors of the most cited articles in 2000 to contribute to a special issue of Information and Software Technology. Five authors have accepted the invitation and their articles appear in this special issue. Moreover, an analysis of the most cited software engineering journal articles in the last 20 years is presented. The presentation includes both the most cited articles in absolute numbers and the most cited articles when looking at the average number of citations per year. The results of a study based Lotka’s law are presented that show the quantitative distribution of publications among groups of authors affiliated to one scientific organization. The relationship between publications and authors of articles is analyzed by building discrete mathematical structures known as graphs on the basis of multilevel citation data. This analysis makes it possible to determine the importance of an article and track its relationships and impact on adjacent areas of scientific research. The analysis is conducted by statistical processing of scientometric information. The practical results show the high convergence of empirical and analytical data. This research numerically analyzes the dynamic characteristics of a coupled journal and thrust hydrodynamic bearing due to
its groove location which has the static load due to the weight of a rotor in the axial direction and the dynamic load due
to its mass unbalance in the radial direction. The Reynolds equation is transformed to solve a plain member rotating type
of journal bearing (PMRJ), a grooved member rotating type of journal bearing (GMRJ), a plain member rotating type of thrust
bearing (PMRT), and a grooved member rotating type of thrust bearing (GMRT). FEM is used to solve the Reynolds equations in
order to calculate the pressure distribution in a fluid film. Reaction forces and friction torque are obtained by integrating
the pressure and shear stress along the fluid film, respectively. Dynamic behaviors, such as whirl radius or axial displacement
of a rotor, are determined by solving its nonlinear equations of motion with the Runge–Kutta method. This research shows that
the groove location affects the pressure distribution in the fluid film and consequently the dynamic performance of a HDD
spindle system.

The project of creating a modern computer network for Ukrainian educational and scientific institutions is considered, and
analysis of the stage of development of this network is performed. The objectives and role of telecommunication networks with
INTERNET access at the universities and research institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine are shown. The

To build awareness of the development of ant colony optimization (ACO), this study clarifies the citation and bibliometric analysis of research publications of ACO during 1996-2010. This study analysed 12,960 citations from a total of 1372 articles dealing with ACO published in 517 journals based on the databases of SCIE, SSCI and AH&CI, retrieved via the Web of Science. Bradford Law and Lotka’s Law, respectively, examined the distribution of journal articles and author productivity. Furthermore, this study determines the citation impact of ACO using parameters such as extent of citation received in terms of number of citations per study, distribution of citations over time, distribution of citations among domains, citation of authors, citation of institutions, highly cited papers and citing journals and impact factor of 12,960 citations. This study can help researchers to better understand the history, current status and trends of ACO in the advanced study of it. 相似文献

Anodic bonding of glass to aluminium may provide a higher degree of freedom in device design. In this paper, a systematic variation of the bonding parameters for the aluminium–glass bond is presented. Hermetic seals with strengths of 18.0 MPa can be achieved using a 50–100-nm-thick bonding aluminium layer, and bonding at 300–400°C applying a voltage of 1,000–1,500 V for 20 min. With these parameters, bond yields above 95.1% were obtained on 17 wafers. The bonds survived extensive thermal ageing without significant degradation. The possibility of bonding glass to an aluminium layer with buried, electrically isolated conductors underneath is also demonstrated. 相似文献
