We propose a fast arbitrary-ratio image resizing method for transcoding of the compressed images. The downsizing process in the discrete cosine transform (DCT) domain can be implemented by truncating high-frequency coefficients, whereas the upsizing process is implemented in the DCT domain by padding zero coefficients to the high-frequency part. The proposed method combines a fast inverse and forward DCT of composite length for arbitrary-ratio upsizing or downsizing. According to the resizing ratio, truncating the high-frequency coefficients and padding zeros are appropriately considered by combining the inverse DCT and forward DCT. The proposed method shows a good peak signal-to-noise ratio and less computational complexity compared with the spatial-domain and previous DCT-domain image resizing methods.  相似文献

Image resizing is to change an image size by upsampling or downsampling of a digital image. Most still images and video frames on digital media are given in a compressed domain. Image resizing of a compressed image can be performed in the spatial domain via decompression and recompression. In general, resizing of a compressed image in a compressed domain is much faster than that in the spatial domain. We propose a novel approach to resize images with L/M resizing ratio in the discrete cosine transform (DCT) domain, which exploits the multiplication-convolution property of DCT (multiplication in the spatial domain corresponds to symmetric convolution in the DCT domain). When an image is given in terms of its 8/spl times/8 block-DCT coefficients, its resized image is also obtained in 8/spl times/8 block-DCT coefficients. The proposed approach is computationally fast and produces visually fine images with high PSNR.  相似文献

Compressed images may be decompressed and displayed or printed using different devices at different resolutions. Full decompression and rescaling in space domain is a very expensive method. We studied downscaled inverses where the image is decompressed partially, and a reduced inverse transform is used to recover the image. In this fashion, fewer transform coefficients are used and the synthesis process is simplified. We studied the design of fast inverses, for a given forward transform. General solutions are presented for M-channel finite impulse response (FIR) filterbanks, of which block and lapped transforms are a subset. Designs of faster inverses are presented for popular block and lapped transforms.  相似文献

 本文利用多分辨重叠变换(HLT)把接收机信号映射到变换域进行抗干扰处理.与重叠变换(LT)不同,HLT对信号频谱的非均匀划分可以有效地把干扰能量集中在有限的变换域子带(Transform Bins)中,因此对抑制随机脉冲干扰非常有效.与小波变换(WT)相比,HLT对信号频谱的划分更加灵活.由于可以使用基于重叠变换的快速算法,在滤波性能相当的情况下,HLT比小波变换节省计算量.仿真结果表明,其于HLT的变换域处理方案可以有效地抑制非时变窄带干扰和时变宽带干扰,明显地改善系统性能.  相似文献

Using the spatial relationship of the block discrete cosine transform (DCT) coefficients and subband approximations, algorithms for image halving and doubling operations are presented. The computational steps identified in the process provide a general framework for image resizing operations. Some of the previously reported image halving and doubling algorithms are shown to be special cases. The proposed approach is general enough to accommodate resizing operations with arbitrary factors, namely with integral and rational factors. The application of these methods to the conversion in the compressed domain of images (video frames) from one format to another is demonstrated.  相似文献

In order to mitigate narrow-band interference in spread spectrum communications systems, novel communications receivers incorporating transform domain filtering techniques are designed. In this paper, lapped transforms are used to transform the received data signal to the transform domain wherein adaptive excision is performed. Transform domain detection algorithms, which yield bit decisions based on the remaining signal energy, are analyzed and, together with excision, are employed on a block-by-block basis to suppress single-tone and narrow-band Gaussian interference. System performance is analytically quantified in terms of the overall system bit-error rate (BER). Subsequent results are presented for a variety of channel conditions and compared to those obtained using excision algorithms based on orthonormal block transforms (Medley 1995). These results demonstrate the improved performance and increased robustness with respect to jammer frequency and bandwidth of lapped transform domain excision techniques relative to similar algorithms based on nonweighted block transforms  相似文献

A novel critically sampled orientation-selective orthogonal lapped transform called the lapped Hartley transform (LHT) is derived. In a first step, overlapping basis functions are generated by modulating basis functions of a 2-D block Hartley transform by a cosine wave. To achieve invertibility and orthogonality, an iterative filter is applied as prefilter in the analysis and as postfilter in the synthesis operation, respectively. Alternatively, filtering can be restricted to analysis or synthesis, ending up with a biorthogonal transform (LHT-PR, LHT-PO). A statistical analysis based on a 4000-image data base shows that the LHT and LHT-PO have better redundancy removal properties than other block or lapped transforms. Finally, image compression and noise removal examples are given, showing the advantages of the LHT especially in images containing oriented textures.  相似文献

A progressive image transmission (PIT) scheme based on the classified two-channel conjugate VQ (TCCVQ) technique in the lapped orthogonal transform (LOT) domain is proposed. Conventional block transform coding of images using DCT produces in general undesirable block-artifacts at low bit rates. In this paper, image blocks are transformed using the LOT and classified into four classes based on their structural properties and further subdivided adaptively into subvectors depending on the LOT coefficient statistics to improve the reconstructed image quality by adaptive bit allocation. The subvectors are quantized using the two-channel conjugate VQ technique which has less computational complexity and less storage memory, and is more robust against channel errors. The vector quantized subvectors are transmitted and decoded in stages so that an image is progressively reconstructed, i.e., initially a crude version followed by quality build up in successive stages as the occasion demands in interactive visual communications. Coding tests using computer simulations show that the LOT/TCCVQ-based PIT of images is an effective coding scheme. The results are also compared with those obtained using conventional classified VQ in both the DCT and LOT domains.  相似文献

Frequency-domain motion estimation using a complex lapped transform   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A frequency-domain algorithm for motion estimation based on overlapped transforms of the image data is developed as an alternative to block matching methods. The complex lapped transform (CLT) is first defined by extending the lapped orthogonal transform (LOT) to have complex basis functions. The CLT basis functions decay smoothly to zero at their end points, and overlap by 2:1 when a data sequence is transformed. A method for estimating cross-correlation functions in the CLT domain is developed. This forms the basis of a motion estimation algorithm that calculates vectors for overlapping, windowed regions of data. The overlapping data window used has no block edge discontinuities and results in smoother motion fields. Furthermore, when motion compensation is performed using similar overlapping regions, the algorithm gives comparable or smaller prediction errors than standard models using exhaustive search block matching, and computational load is lower for larger displacement ranges and block sizes.  相似文献

This paper proposes new integer approximations of the lapped transforms, called the integer lapped transforms (ILT), and studies their applications to image coding. The ILT are derived from a set of orthogonal sinusoidal transforms having short integer coefficients, which can be implemented with simple integer arithmetic. By employing the same scaling constants in these integer sinusoidal transforms, integer versions of the lapped orthogonal transform (LOT), the lapped biorthogonal transform (LBT), and the hierarchical lapped biorthogonal transform (HLBT) are developed. The ILTs with 5-b integer coefficients are found to have similar coding gain (within 0.06 dB) and image coding performances as their real-valued counterparts. Furthermore, by representing these integer coefficients as sum of powers-of-two coefficients (SOPOT), multiplier-less lapped transforms with very low implementation complexity are obtained. In particular, the implementation of the eight-channel multiplier-less integer LOT (ILOT), LBT (ILBT), and HLBT (IHLBT) require 90 additions and 44 shifts, 98 additions and 59 shifts, and 70 additions and 38 shifts, respectively.  相似文献

Saliency detection plays important roles in many image processing applications, such as regions of interest extraction and image resizing. Existing saliency detection models are built in the uncompressed domain. Since most images over Internet are typically stored in the compressed domain such as joint photographic experts group (JPEG), we propose a novel saliency detection model in the compressed domain in this paper. The intensity, color, and texture features of the image are extracted from discrete cosine transform (DCT) coefficients in the JPEG bit-stream. Saliency value of each DCT block is obtained based on the Hausdorff distance calculation and feature map fusion. Based on the proposed saliency detection model, we further design an adaptive image retargeting algorithm in the compressed domain. The proposed image retargeting algorithm utilizes multioperator operation comprised of the block-based seam carving and the image scaling to resize images. A new definition of texture homogeneity is given to determine the amount of removal block-based seams. Thanks to the directly derived accurate saliency information from the compressed domain, the proposed image retargeting algorithm effectively preserves the visually important regions for images, efficiently removes the less crucial regions, and therefore significantly outperforms the relevant state-of-the-art algorithms, as demonstrated with the in-depth analysis in the extensive experiments.  相似文献

Two coding methods for arbitrarily shaped objects in still images using the lapped orthogonal transform (LOT) are proposed. The LOT is applied to the projection onto convex sets (POCS) based algorithm and the shape adaptive-discrete cosine transform (SA-DCT) with the even number of basis vectors. 针对在变换域干扰抑制方法中子带滤波器组的阻带衰减性能不够理想而造成窄带干扰扩散的问题,该文提出了一种使用近似理想重构余弦调制滤波器组的窄带干扰抑制方法。近似理想重构滤波器组在设计上具有更大的灵活度,能够实现更高的阻带衰减。具有高阻带衰减特性的滤波器组能够更好地将窄带干扰信号变换到少数几个子带上,从而利用门限检测的方法能更好地对窄带干扰加以抑制。仿真结果表明,相对于传统的重叠变换滤波器组,使用近似理想重构余弦调制滤波器组能够显著提高变换域接收机的抗窄带干扰能力。  相似文献

New lapped transforms are introduced. The lapped biorthononal transform (LBT) and hierarchical lapped biorthogonal transform (HLBT) are appropriate for image coding, and the modulated HLBT biorthogonal transform (MMLBT) and nonuniform modulated lapped biorthogonal transform (NMLBT) are appropriate for audio coding. The HLBT has a significantly lower computational complexity than the lapped orthogonal transform (LOT), essentially no blocking artifacts, and fewer ringing artifacts than the commonly used discrete cosine transform (DCT). The LBT and HLBT have transform coding gains that are typically between 0.5 and 1.2 dB higher than that of the DCT. Image coding examples using JPEG and embedded zerotree coders demonstrate the better performance of the LET and HLBT. The NMLBT has fewer ringing artifacts and better reproduction of transient sounds than the MLT, as shown in audio coding examples. In this paper, we present the design of directional lapped transforms for image coding. A lapped transform, which can be implemented by a prefilter followed by a discrete cosine transform (DCT), can be factorized into elementary operators. The corresponding directional lapped transform is generated by applying each elementary operator along a given direction. The proposed directional lapped transforms are not only nonredundant and perfectly reconstructed, but they can also provide a basis along an arbitrary direction. These properties, along with the advantages of lapped transforms, make the proposed transforms appealing for image coding. A block-based directional transform scheme is also presented and integrated into HD Phtoto, one of the state-of-the-art image coding systems, to verify the effectiveness of the proposed transforms.  相似文献

The general factorization of a linear-phase paraunitary filter bank (LPPUFB) is revisited. From this new perspective, a class of lapped orthogonal transforms with extended overlap (generalized linear-phase lapped orthogonal transforms (GenLOTs)) is developed as a subclass of the general class of LPPUFB. In this formulation, the discrete cosine transform (DCT) is the order-1 GenLOT, the lapped orthogonal transform is the order-2 GenLOT, and so on, for any filter length that is an integer multiple of the block size. The GenLOTs are based on the DCT and have fast implementation algorithms. The implementation of GenLOTs is explained, including the method to process finite-length signals. The degrees of freedom in the design of GenLOTs are described, and design examples are presented along with image compression tests  相似文献
