ABSTRACTThe new species Huasteca kardia sp. nov. is described from material collected in the Huautla cave system, Oaxaca, Mexico. Based on recent literature on morphology and male genitalia, the diagnosis of the genus is amended and an identification key of the species of the genus is provided. Using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), all Huasteca species were reviewed in detail for the following: describing and reporting an unusual modification of the lateral channels on H. kardia sp. nov., searching for any evidence of sexual glandular openings on swollen parts of legs II on males which were absent, and recording the cheliceral comb on the fixed finger in Karosinae, reported previously only in Podoctidae. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:FDB9EDDA-63A8-43C9-903C-48BF15C45F03 相似文献

ABSTRACTA genus of small, yellow mimallonid moths, Zaphanta Dyar, is revised. This genus has been shown to be sister to the remainder of Mimallonidae, and therefore has been placed in its own monogeneric subfamily, Zaphantinae St Laurent and Kawahara. Long considered monotypic or bitypic, Zaphanta have not been the focus of any systematic treatment. The moths belonging to this genus are found throughout Central and South America, and detailed examination of several disparate, as well as sympatric, populations of Zaphanta have revealed numerous undescribed species all of similar appearance, but with distinct male genitalia, which we describe here. We redescribe Z. infantilis Dyar and Z. fraterna Schaus, and describe the females of both for the first time. An additional nine new species are described and figured from the Amazon, Cerrado and Atlantic Forest: Z. acuta sp. nov., Z. anas sp. nov., Z. bahiana sp. nov., Z. beckeri sp. nov., Z. elephanta sp. nov., Z. elephanticula sp. nov., Z. machaera sp. nov., Z. rawlinsi sp. nov. and Z. stiletto sp. nov. One of these, Z. beckeri, may be extremely imperilled due to deforestation. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:B45DDB85-977F-42EF-9F2F-DB48827E521Ehttp://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:C6F7DBF4-4871-403D-A387-DD920BA76D8Bhttp://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:C4C8DAAF-8C60-4C16-A626-3641EA3817FBhttp://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:6A57E1CC-D3E5-4E45-8C82-7006295ADF1Fhttp://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:03241157-1925-4EF6-B426-A8E816C7E457http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:A00749E5-888C-45FB-8FAA-0302A402496Fhttp://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:89132977-91DC-4424-9C0E-98A954E467CAhttp://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:11AA3541-C7A4-4292-A5CA-10B89C5FAD2Chttp://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:A5FA3ED1-5994-46B4-B018-1FA055C76496http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:F1C63621-EF30-40B1-B437-87A79BD7E339 相似文献

ABSTRACTAkamboja was recently described based on five species with relatively small geographic ranges, all of which are within the boundaries of the South-eastern Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil. Recent expeditions in the continental island of Ilha Grande (Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil) resulted in the discovery of a new species of the genus. Akamboja insularis sp. nov. has all diagnostic features of the genus, except for the branches of the antennomere IX, which are separated, unlike any other Akamboja. Here, we describe this new species, provide a new record for Akamboja minimum Roza et al. and propose a new diagnosis for the genus. urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:DC47825C-B276-49CC-88DC-DFDC5D843356 相似文献

Osperalycus tenerphagus, a new genus and species of Nematalycidae (Acari: Endeostigmata), is described from Ohio, USA, using light microscopy and low-temperature scanning electron microscopy. Specimens were extracted from two different loam soils. This genus can be readily distinguished from the other genera of Nematalycidae by the simple setae that line the opisthosoma. The mouthparts are especially distinct in possessing three-segmented palps, an unusual vessel-shaped structure, and rutella that overlap at the midline. The discovery of rutella in this genus and in two other genera indicates that the Nematalycidae can be more confidently assigned to the Endeostigmata (Sarcoptiformes). http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:A64A6612-B66C-4814-80A9-3856DEBE8C46 相似文献

ABSTRACTHintonelmis is a South American genus of Elmidae, comprising 11 species. Two further new species are here described and illustrated: Hintonelmis guianensis sp. nov. from Guyana, and Hintonelmis roellae sp. nov. from Brazil, can be distinguished from all other known members of the genus by their general colour pattern, some characters of pronotal and elytral sculpture, and the morphology of the male genitalia. The type material is deposited in the Natural History Museum, London, UK and Museum of Zoology of the University of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil. New distributional data for species of Hintonelmis are presented for the South of Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Guyana. We also provide an updated key for the genus species. urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:34EEE39E-147D-4ADB-B600-53DA213CE83Eurn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:5F3F83E8-F484-469C-802E-0C1F56EDD34Furn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:88FA97AE-C8B5-4ADF-B680-A185A88D3899 相似文献

Cyranorogas gen. nov. (type species C. depardeui sp. nov.) from Papua New Guinea is described and illustrated. The new taxon has a uniquely produced mid-longitudinal facial ridge, which differentiates it from all other genera of Braconidae. The difficulty of distinguishing the Betylobraconinae from the Rogadinae, especially from various members of the Yeliconini, is discussed, and they are formally synonymised here with the Betylobraconini recognised as a tribe of Rogadinae. No clear synapomorphy with either Yeliconini or Betylobraconini could be found for Cyranorogas leaving its tribal placement uncertain, attempts to obtain molecular sequence data having been unsuccessful. http://zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:62F13CF8-7821-451C-9F14-C40B2D1CC4B5 相似文献
