本文对基于超连续谱产生的波长转换进行了实验研究。实验中首先搭建了主动锁模掺铒光纤激光器,然后将其产生的脉冲放大后注入色散位移光纤,利用双通结构获得了超连续光谱,最后用光纤光栅滤波实现了波长转换。实验得到了宽度为80nm的超连续谱,用光纤光栅滤波得到了峰值功率为-37.27dBm,信噪比是26.83dB,脉冲宽度为3ns的转换脉冲。  相似文献

We study theoretically and experimentally actively modelocked fiber lasers that are used in high repetition rate optical communication systems. Using an innovative numerical technique and a reduced model, we have found that the laser can operate in four different operating regimes when the laser intensity was changed; three of the regimes were experimentally observed in a laser with a sigma configuration. An excellent quantitative agreement between the theoretical and the experimental results was obtained. The use of dispersion management in the sigma laser was found to significantly improve the laser performance  相似文献

根据EDFA中的传输方程分析了再生锁模光纤激光器的自启动过程,指出采用拍频反馈控制调制频率实现再生锁模光纤激光器运转的前提,是利用在工作波长范围内呈现反常色散特性的谐振腔所具有的自发调制现象来把腔内连续或准连续光的稳态打破以产生光脉冲.阐述了如何在再生锁模光纤激光器中行之有效地提取误差信号,并通过反馈来控制调制频率,从而在实验中保证了再生锁模光纤激光器在24h的连续运转中一直保持稳定的锁模状态.  相似文献

In this letter, we demonstrate a novel 10-GHz actively modelocked polarization-maintaining fiber ring laser that utilizes a single device for gain, loss modulation, optical isolation, and repetition rate adjustment. This monolithic device incorporates a semiconductor optical amplifier with an electroabsorption modulator and provides net gain of 2.1 dB. The repetition rate of the 1.5-μm picosecond pulsetrains can be tuned by 2 ppm through perturbation of the electroabsorption modulator reverse bias  相似文献

在光纤延迟测向激光告警系统中,光纤延迟线是用来连接光学接收系统和光电转换系统的.起到传输光、延迟光、对光信号进行编码的作用。由于光纤延迟线的长度不同,光学窗口接收到的激光脉冲产生不同的时间延迟.从而实现激光方位信息到时间信息的转变。光纤延迟线的长度对激光告警器的体积、光学损耗、虚警率等因素有着直接的影响,在此利用激光脉冲的相关特性,通过最优化理论对光纤延迟线进行排列组合.提出了光纤延迟线长度编码的优化设计方法,通过对相关理论的分析与计算.得到了一个全向矩阵的排列方式,从而得出了相应的排列原则。按照该原则对光纤延迟线进行排列组合,从理论上得到了最优的光纤延迟线总长度值,为激光测向告警器的优化设计提供了重要的理论依据。  相似文献

介绍了2005年诺贝尔物理学奖的获奖工作-用锁模飞秒激光光梳去测量光的频率.飞秒激光光梳技术大大简化了光频的测量.锁模飞秒激光通过光子晶体光纤时,由于自相位调制,在可见光和近红外区能够产生上百万等间隔的梳状频率,其频率间隔等于锁模脉冲的重复率.利用光频梳和倍频技术,把对光频的测量变为对射频的测量,这样就能够很容易地测出光的频率.使得光频测量精度和原子钟精度达到前所未有的高度,从而对物理学和计量学的发展有重要意义.  相似文献

为了改善当前激光雷达存在的对振动敏感,体积庞大,对人眼不安全等问题,综合国内外激光雷达研究现状的基础上.给出了一种新型光纤激光雷达的结构.该雷达利用光纤激光器作为光源,光路中大量采用了光纤器件,使得系统体积大大减小.采用相干探测的原理,根据激光雷达作用距离方程,给出了信噪比与光纤激光雷达作用距离的关系.根据所选的器件参数,通过理论计算,在探测概率为0.9,虚警概率小于10-4的情况下,得到了2 km的最大作用距离.所设计的光纤激光雷达体积小,结构紧凑、新颖,具有良好的探测能力.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the chaotic dynamics of the mode-locked fiber laser by numerical simulation. The structures of the passively mode-locked fiber laser and the actively mode-locked fiber laser are studied by modeling and analysis. By appropriately adjusting the small signal gain of the optical fiber amplifier, we observe the period-doubling bifurcations and route to chaos in the passively mode-locked fiber laser based on nonlinear polarization rotation effect. Chaos in the actively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser is obtained by adjusting the elliptic modulus parameter of the active modulator and the intra-cavity length. Simulation results have theoretical significance for the practical application of chaotic soliton communication.  相似文献

Expressions for the quantum-limited timing jitter in an actively modelocked fiber laser are derived. We identify a set of characteristic constants that govern the timing jitter for the cases using amplitude modulation (AM) and phase modulation (PM) as the active modelocking elements. We find that when using AM, the Gordon-Haus jitter is proportional to the square of the group-velocity dispersion and reaches a minimum value for the case of low dispersion. Using PM, the Gordon-Haus jitter increases only linearly proportional to group-velocity dispersion, and there exists an optimum group-velocity dispersion that minimizes the jitter. We compare the theory to recent experiments of the timing jitter for an active harmonically modelocked fiber laser.  相似文献

This paper theoretically and experimentally investigates an effect of cabling on polarization mode dispersion (PMD) in ribbon fibers helically stranded in optical fiber ribbon cables aimed at designing low PMD ribbon cables. Based on the birefringence model focused on the change in the birefringence when ribbon fibers are cabled, the helical pitch of optical fiber ribbon cables is designed to minimize the maximum PMD in the cables. A low PMD characteristic is confirmed in optical fiber ribbon cable with approximately the optimal helical pitch.  相似文献

A dual wavelength actively modelocked erbium-doped fiber laser was constructed which generated pulses approximately 50 ps long with repetition rate 2.6 GHz at both 1544.1 nm and 1545.7 nm. The laser cavity incorporated a pair of dispersive gratings to produce temporal-spectral multiplexing of the pulses in the gain medium, which was observed to reduce cross-saturation effects.  相似文献

Two synchronous multiple access schemes, TDMA and CDMA, are proposed for fiber optic networks using optical signal processing. Network synchronization is achieved by using a central modelocked laser which also serves as the source for each station. The data are converted into a high-bandwidth optical signal using electrooptic modulators. The accessing schemes use optical fiber delay lines. A novel actively modelocked fibre ring laser based on cross-gain modulation in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) employed as both the gain medium and modelocking element has been demonstrated. Stable uniform pulse trains with pulse-widths about 21 ps at 5 GHz repetition frequency were obtained. Thermally induced optical fiber shifts in the joints consisting of an optical fiber, epoxy adhesive and silicon substrate were simulated using a FEA (finite element analysis) package. Experiments using a real-time micro-moiré system were also performed at temperatures of 25, 40, 60, 85 and 100 °C for confirmation of the FEA results. The optical coupling loss, caused by the fiber shifts, of a single-mode fiber to fiber and a laser diode to a fiber was studied. The results revealed that thermally induced fiber shifts increased with the number of V-groove channels. The optical coupling loss is the greatest during thermal loading for the outer fiber in the four channels V-groove array. Optical losses of 0.334 and 0.346 dB for fiber-to-fiber coupling and 1.54 and 1.56 dB for laser diode to fiber coupling were calculated using the fiber shift values obtained from the FEA and experiments, respectively, for the outermost fiber joint in the four channels V-groove array at 100 °C. The effects of fiber shifts especially the shift of the fiber that is positioned at the outermost V-groove in the array cannot be ignored.  相似文献
