The photoluminescence (PL) efficiency of emitters is a key parameter to accomplish high electroluminescent performance in phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (PhOLEDs). With the aim of enhancing the PL efficiency, this study designs deep‐blue emitting heteroleptic Ir(III) complexes (tBuCN‐FIrpic, tBuCN‐FIrpic‐OXD, and tBuCN‐FIrpic‐mCP) for solution‐processed PhOLEDs by covalently attaching the light‐harvesting functional moieties (mCP‐Me or OXD‐Me) to the control Ir(III) complex, tBuCN‐FIrpic. These Ir(III) complexes show similar deep‐blue emission peaks around 453, 480 nm (298 K) and 447, 477 nm (77 K) in chloroform. tBuCN‐FIrpic‐mCP demonstrates higher light‐harvesting efficiency (142%) than tBuCN‐FIrpic‐OXD (112%), relative to that of tBuCN‐FIrpic (100%), due to an efficient intramolecular energy transfer from the mCP group to the Ir(III) complex. Accordingly, the monochromatic PhOLEDs of tBuCN‐FIrpic‐mCP show higher external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 18.2% with one of the best blue coordinates (0.14, 0.18) in solution‐processing technology. Additionally, the two‐component (deep‐blue:yellow‐orange), single emitting layer, white PhOLED of tBuCN‐FIrpic‐mCP shows a maximum EQE of 20.6% and superior color quality (color rendering index (CRI) = 78, Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.353, 0.352)) compared with the control device containing sky‐blue:yellow‐orange emitters (CRI = 60, CIE coordinates of (0.293, 0.395)) due to the good spectral coverage by the deep‐blue emitter.  相似文献

A novel yellowish‐green triplet emitter, bis(5‐(trifluoromethyl)‐2‐p‐tolylpyridine) (acetylacetonate)iridium(III) (1), was conveniently synthesized and used in the fabrication of both monochromatic and white organic light‐emitting diodes (WOLEDs). At the optimal doping concentration, monochromatic devices based on 1 exhibit a high efficiency of 63 cd A?1 (16.3% and 36.6 lm W?1) at a luminance of 100 cd m?2. By combining 1 with a phosphorescent sky‐blue emitter, bis(3,5‐difluoro‐2‐(2‐pyridyl)phenyl)‐(2‐carboxypyridyl)iridium(III) (FIrPic), and a red emitter, bis(2‐benzo[b]thiophen‐2‐yl‐pyridine)(acetylacetonate)iridium(III) (Ir(btp)2(acac)), the resulting electrophosphorescent WOLEDs show three evenly separated main peaks and give a high efficiency of 34.2 cd A?1 (13.2% and 18.5 lm W?1) at a luminance of 100 cd m?2. When 1 is mixed with a deep‐blue fluorescent emitter, 4,4′‐bis(9‐ethyl‐3‐carbazovinylene)‐1,1′‐biphenyl (BCzVBi), and Ir(btp)2(acac), the resulting hybrid WOLEDs demonstrate a high color‐rendering index of 91.2 and CIE coordinates of (0.32, 0.34). The efficient and highly color‐pure WOLEDs based on 1 with evenly separated red, green, blue peaks and a high color‐rendering index outperform those of the state‐of‐the‐art emitter, fac‐tris(2‐phenylpyridine)iridium(III) (Ir(ppy)3), and are ideal candidates for display and lighting applications.  相似文献

Several new solution‐processable organic semiconductors based on dendritic oligoquinolines were synthesized and were used as electron‐transport and hole‐blocking materials to realize highly efficient blue phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (PhOLEDs). Various substitutions on the quinoline rings while keeping the central meta‐linked tris(quinolin‐2‐yl)benzene gave electron transport materials that combined wide energy gap (>3.3 eV), moderate electron affinity (2.55‐2.8 eV), and deep HOMO energy level (<‐6.08 eV) with electron mobility as high as 3.3 × 10?3 cm2 V?1 s?1. Polymer‐based PhOLEDs with iridium (III) bis(4,6‐(di‐fluorophenyl)pyridinato‐N,C2′)picolinate (FIrpic) blue triplet emitter and solution‐processed oligoquinolines as the electron‐transport layers (ETLs) gave luminous efficiency of 30.5 cd A?1 at a brightness of 4130 cd m?2 with an external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 16.0%. Blue PhOLEDs incorporating solution‐deposited ETLs were over two‐fold more efficient than those containing vacuum‐deposited ETLs. Atomic force microscopy imaging shows that the solution‐deposited oligoquinoline ETLs formed vertically oriented nanopillars and rough surfaces that enable good ETL/cathode contacts, eliminating the need for cathode interfacial materials (LiF, CsF). These solution‐processed blue PhOLEDs have the highest performance observed to date in polymer‐based blue PhOLEDs.  相似文献

Two host materials of {4‐[diphenyl(4‐pyridin‐3‐ylphenyl)silyl]phenyl}diphenylamine (p‐PySiTPA) and {4‐[[4‐(diphenylphosphoryl)phenyl](diphenyl)silyl]phenyl}diphenylamine (p‐POSiTPA), and an electron‐transporting material of [(diphenylsilanediyl)bis(4,1‐phenylene)]bis(diphenylphosphine) dioxide (SiDPO) are developed by incorporating appropriate charge transporting units into the tetraarylsilane skeleton. The host materials feature both high triplet energies (ca. 2.93 eV) and ambipolar charge transporting nature; the electron‐transporting material comprising diphenylphosphine oxide units and tetraphenylsilane skeleton exhibits a high triplet energy (3.21 eV) and a deep highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) level (‐6.47 eV). Using these tetraarylsilane‐based functional materials results in a high‐efficiency blue phosphorescent device with a three‐organic‐layer structure of 1,1‐bis[4‐[N,N‐di(p‐tolyl)‐amino]phenyl]cyclohexane (TAPC)/p‐POSiTPA: iridium(III) bis(4′,6′‐difluorophenylpyridinato)tetrakis(1‐pyrazolyl)borate (FIr6)/SiDPO that exhibits a forward‐viewing maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) up to 22.2%. This is the first report of three‐organic‐layer FIr6‐based blue PhOLEDs with the forward‐viewing EQE over 20%, and the device performance is among the highest for FIr6‐based blue PhOLEDs even compared with the four or more than four organic‐layer devices. Furthermore, with the introduction of bis(2‐(9,9‐diethyl‐9H‐fluoren‐2‐yl)‐1‐phenyl‐1H‐benzoimidazol‐N,C3)iridium acetylacetonate [(fbi)2Ir(acac)] as an orange emitter, an all‐phosphor warm‐white PhOLED achieves a peak power efficiency of 47.2 lm W?1, which is close to the highest values ever reported for two‐color white PhOLEDs.  相似文献

Ruddlesden–Popper perovskite, (PEA)2PbBr4 (PEA = C8H9NH3), is a steady and inexpensive material with a broad bandgap and a narrow‐band emission. These features make it a potential candidate for deep‐blue light‐emitting diodes (LEDs). However, due to the weak exciton binding energy, LEDs based on the perovskite thin films usually possess a very low external quantum efficiency (EQE) of <0.03%. Here, for the first time, the construction of high‐performance deep‐blue LEDs based on 2D (PEA)2PbBr4 nanoplates (NPs) is demonstrated. The as‐fabricated (PEA)2PbBr4 NPs film shows a deep‐blue emission at 410 nm with excellent stability under ambient conditions. Impressively, LEDs based on the (PEA)2PbBr4 NPs film deliver a bright deep‐blue emission with a maximum luminance of 147.6 cd m?2 and a high EQE up to 0.31%, which represents the most efficient and brightest perovskite LEDs operating at deep‐blue wavelengths. Furthermore, the LEDs retain over 80% of their efficiencies for over 1350 min under ≈60% relative humidity. The steady and bright deep‐blue LEDs can be used as an excitation light source to realize white light emission, which shows the potential for light communication. The work provides scope for developing perovskite into efficient and deep‐blue LEDs for low‐cost light source and light communication.  相似文献

Organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) are increasingly used in displays replacing traditional flat panel displays; e.g., liquid crystal displays. Especially, the paradigm shifts in displays from rigid to flexible types accelerated the market change from liquid crystal displays to OLEDs. However, some critical issues must be resolved for expansion of OLED use, of which blue device performance is one of the most important. Therefore, recent OLED material development has focused on the design, synthesis and application of high‐efficiency and long‐life blue emitters. Well‐known blue fluorescent emitters have been modified to improve their efficiency and lifetime, and blue phosphorescent emitters are being investigated to overcome the lifetime issue. Recently, thermally activated delayed fluorescent emitters have received attention due to the potential of high‐efficiency and long‐living emitters. Therefore, it is timely to review the recent progress and future prospects of high‐efficiency blue emitters. In this feature article, we summarize recent developments in blue fluorescent, phosphorescent and thermally activated delayed fluorescent emitters, and suggest key issues for each emitter and future development strategies.  相似文献

By attaching a bulky, inductively electron‐withdrawing trifluoromethyl (CF3) group on the pyridyl ring of the rigid 2‐[3‐ (N‐phenylcarbazolyl)]pyridine cyclometalated ligand, we successfully synthesized a new heteroleptic orange‐emitting phosphorescent iridium(III) complex [Ir( L 1 )2(acac)] 1 ( HL 1 = 5‐trifluoromethyl‐2‐[3‐(N‐phenylcarbazolyl)]pyridine, Hacac = acetylacetone) in good yield. The structural and electronic properties of 1 were examined by X‐ray crystallography and time‐dependent DFT calculations. The influence of CF3 substituents on the optical, electrochemical and electroluminescence (EL) properties of 1 were studied. We note that incorporation of the carbazolyl unit facilitates the hole‐transporting ability of the complex, and more importantly, attachment of CF3 group provides an access to a highly efficient electrophosphor for the fabrication of orange phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) with outstanding device performance. These orange OLEDs can produce a maximum current efficiency of ~40 cd A?1, corresponding to an external quantum efficiency of ~12% ph/el (photons per electron) and a power efficiency of ~24 lm W?1. Remarkably, high‐performance simple two‐element white OLEDs (WOLEDs) with excellent color stability can be fabricated using an orange triplet‐harvesting emitter 1 in conjunction with a blue singlet‐harvesting emitter. By using such a new system where the host singlet is resonant with the blue fluorophore singlet state and the host triplet is resonant with the orange phosphor triplet level, this white light‐emitting structure can achieve peak EL efficiencies of 26.6 cd A?1 and 13.5 lm W?1 that are generally superior to other two‐element all‐fluorophore or all‐phosphor OLED counterparts in terms of both color stability and emission efficiency.  相似文献

We investigate the light‐emitting performances of blue phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (PHOLEDs) with three different electron injection and transport materials, that is, bathocuproine(2,9‐dimethyl‐4,7‐diphenyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline) (Bphen), 1,3,5‐tri(m‐pyrid‐3‐yl‐phenyl)benzene (Tm3PyPB), and 2,6‐bis(3‐(carbazol‐9‐yl)phenyl)pyridine (26DCzPPy), which are partially doped with cesium metal. We find that the device characteristics are very dependent on the nature of the introduced electron injection layer (EIL) and electron transporting layer (ETL). When the appropriate EIL and ETL are combined, the peak external quantum efficiency and peak power efficiency improve up to 20.7% and 45.6 lm/W, respectively. Moreover, this blue PHOLED even maintains high external quantum efficiency of 19.6% and 16.9% at a luminance of 1,000 cd/m2 and 10,000 cd/m2, respectively.  相似文献

High‐performance, blue, phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (PhOLEDs) are achieved by orthogonal solution‐processing of small‐molecule electron‐transport material doped with an alkali metal salt, including cesium carbonate (Cs2CO3) or lithium carbonate (Li2CO3). Blue PhOLEDs with solution‐processed 4,7‐diphenyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline (BPhen) electron‐transport layer (ETL) doped with Cs2CO3 show a luminous efficiency (LE) of 35.1 cd A?1 with an external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 17.9%, which are two‐fold higher efficiency than a BPhen ETL without a dopant. These solution‐processed blue PhOLEDs are much superior compared to devices with vacuum‐deposited BPhen ETL/alkali metal salt cathode interfacial layer. Blue PhOLEDs with solution‐processed 1,3,5‐tris(m‐pyrid‐3‐yl‐phenyl)benzene (TmPyPB) ETL doped with Cs2CO3 have a luminous efficiency of 37.7 cd A?1 with an EQE of 19.0%, which is the best performance observed to date in all‐solution‐processed blue PhOLEDs. The results show that a small‐molecule ETL doped with alkali metal salt can be realized by solution‐processing to enhance overall device performance. The solution‐processed metal salt‐doped ETLs exhibit a unique rough surface morphology that facilitates enhanced charge‐injection and transport in the devices. These results demonstrate that orthogonal solution‐processing of metal salt‐doped electron‐transport materials is a promising strategy for applications in various solution‐processed multilayered organic electronic devices.  相似文献

Two new phosphorescent iridium(III ) cyclometalated complexes, [Ir(DPA‐Flpy)3] ( 1 ) and [Ir(DPA‐Flpy)2(acac)] ( 2 ) ((DPA‐Flpy)H = (9,9‐diethyl‐7‐pyridinylfluoren‐2‐yl)diphenylamine, Hacac = acetylacetone), have been synthesized and characterized. The incorporation of electron‐donating diphenylamino groups to the fluorene skeleton is found to increase the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) levels and add hole‐transporting ability to the phosphorescent center. Both complexes are highly amorphous and morphologically stable solids and undergo glass transitions at 160 and 153 °C, respectively. These iridium phosphors emit bright yellow to orange light at room temperature with relatively short lifetimes (< 1 μs) in both solution and the solid state. Organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) fabricated using 1 and 2 as phosphorescent dopant emitters constructed with a multilayer configuration show very high efficiencies. The homoleptic iridium complex 1 is shown to be a more efficient electrophosphor than the heteroleptic congener 2 . Efficient electrophosphorescence with a maximum external quantum efficiency close to 10 % ph/el (photons per electron), corresponding to a luminance efficiency of ~ 30 cd A–1 and a power efficiency of ~ 21 lm W–1, is obtained by using 5 wt.‐% 1 as the guest dopant.  相似文献

Grafting six fluorene units to a benzene ring generates a new highly twisted core of hexakis(fluoren‐2‐yl)benzene. Based on the new core, six‐arm star‐shaped oligofluorenes from the first generation T1 to third generation T3 are constructed. Their thermal, photophysical, and electrochemical properties are studied, and the relationship between the structures and properties is discussed. Simple double‐layer electroluminescence (EL) devices using T1–T3 as non‐doped solution‐processed emitters display deep‐blue emissions with Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.17, 0.08) for T1 , (0.16, 0.08) for T2 , and (0.16, 0.07) for T3 . These devices exhibit excellent performance, with maximum current efficiency of up to 5.4 cd A?1, and maximum external quantum efficiency of up to 6.8%, which is the highest efficiency for non‐doped solution‐processed deep‐blue organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on starburst oligofluorenes, and is even comparable with other solution‐processed deep‐blue fluorescent OLEDs. Furthermore, T2‐ and T3‐ based devices show striking blue EL color stability independent of driving voltage. In addition, using T0–T3 as hole‐transporting materials, the devices of indium tin oxide (ITO)/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonic acid) (PEDOT:PSS)/ T0–T3 /tris(8‐hydroxyquinolinato)aluminium (Alq3)/LiF/Al achieve maximum current efficiencies of 5.51–6.62 cd A?1, which are among the highest for hole‐transporting materials in identical device structure.  相似文献

Two new solution‐processable wide bandgap materials, bis(4‐((4‐(9‐H‐carbazol‐9‐yl)phenyl)diphenylsilyl)phenyl)(phenyl)phosphine oxide (CS2PO) and bis(4‐((4‐(9‐H‐(3,9′‐bicarbazol)‐9‐yl)phenyl)diphenylsilyl)phenyl)(phenyl)phosphine oxide (DCS2PO), have been developed for blue phosphorescent light‐emitting diodes by coupling an electron‐donating carbazole moiety and an electron‐accepting PO unit together via double‐silicon bridges. Both of them have been characterized as having high glass transition temperatures of 159–199 °C, good solubility in common organic solvent (20 mg mL?1), wide optical gap (3.37–3.55 eV) and high triplet energy levels (2.97–3.04 eV). As compared with their corresponding single‐silicon bridged compounds, this design strategy of extending molecular structure endows CS2PO and DCS2PO with higher thermal stability, better solution processability and more stable film morphology without lowering their triplet energies. As a result, DCS2PO/FIrpic doped blue phosphorescent device fabricated by spin‐coating method shows the best electroluminescent performance with a maximum current efficiency of 26.5 cd A?1, a maximum power efficiency of 8.66 lm W?1, and a maximum external quantum efficiency of 13.6%, which is one of the highest efficiencies among small molecular devices with the same deposition process and device configuration.  相似文献

Considerable efforts have been devoted to the development of highly efficient blue light‐emitting materials. However, deep‐blue fluorescence materials that can satisfy the Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.14, 0.08) of the National Television System Committee (NTSC) standard blue and, moreover, possess a high external quantum efficiency (EQE) over 5%, remain scarce. Here, the unusual luminescence properties of triphenylamine‐bearing 2‐(2′‐hydroxyphenyl)oxazoles ( 3a–3c ) and their applications in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) are reported as highly efficient deep‐blue emitters. The 3a ‐based device exhibits a high spectral stability and an excellent color purity with a narrow full‐width at half‐maximum of 53 nm and the CIE coordinates of (0.15, 0.08), which is very close to the NTSC standard blue. The exciton utilization of the device closes to 100%, exceeding the theoretical limit of 25% in conventional fluorescent OLEDs. Experimental data and theoretical calculations demonstrate that 3a possesses a highly hybridized local and charge‐transfer excited state character. In OLEDs, 3a exhibits a maximum luminance of 9054 cd m?2 and an EQE up to 7.1%, which is the first example of highly efficient blue OLEDs based on the sole enol‐form emission of 2‐(2′‐hydroxyphenyl)azoles.  相似文献

Recently, bipolar host materials are the most promising candidates for achieving high performance phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (PHOLEDs) in order to maximize recombination efficiency. However, the development of host material with high triplet energy (E T) is still a great challenge to date to overcome the limitations associated with the present PHOLEDs. Herein, a highly efficient donor‐π‐acceptor (D‐π‐A) type bipolar host (4′‐(9H‐carbazol‐9‐yl)‐2,2′‐dimethyl‐[1,1′‐biphenyl]‐4‐yl)diphenylphosphine oxide (m‐CBPPO) comprising of carbazole, 2,2′‐dimethylbiphenyl and diphenylphosphoryl as D‐π‐A unit, respectively, is developed. Interestingly, a high E T of 3.02 eV is observed for m‐CBPPO due to highly twisted conformation. Furthermore, the new host material is incorporated in PHOLEDs as emissive layer with a new carbene type Ir(cb)3 material as a deep‐blue emitter. The optimized devices show an excellent external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 24.8% with a notable Commission internationale de l'éclairage (x, y) ≤ 0.15, (0.136, 0.138) and high electroluminescence performance with extremely low efficiency roll‐off. Overall, the above EQE is the highest reported for deep‐blue PHOLEDs with very low efficiency roll‐off and also indicate the importance of appropriate host for the development of high performance deep‐blue PHOLEDs.  相似文献

The detailed measurement and analysis of the delayed emission from poly(vinylcarbazole) (PVK) and poly(N‐ethyl‐2‐vinyl‐carbazole) (P2VK) thin films is described. PVK has rapidly become a “polymer of choice” for hosting phosphorescent dopants in PLEDs, especially blue emitters. In this respect it is important to have a full understanding of the triplet properties of this host. It is concluded that in films, the electronic 0–0 peak energy of PVK phosphorescence is found at 2.88 eV (14 K). With an increase of temperature, >44 K, increasing emission from new long lived, lower energy species, previously ascribed to “trap states” in the literature, is observed. Increasing temperature enables thermally assisted triplet exciton hopping to these trap states. Critically it is shown that some of these triplet trap species are ground state triplet dimers in origin for both PVK (2.46 eV) and P2VK (2.1 eV), and not all of them are of excimer nature as previously thought. These species can quench the emission of blue heavy metal complexes doped in PVK and drastically effect performance over lifetime if the dimer formation increases over time and at elevated operating temperature. It is therefore concluded that PVK might not be such an ideal host material for blue phosphorescent emitters.  相似文献

Highly efficient deep‐blue fluorescent materials based on phenylquinoline–carbazole derivatives (PhQ‐CVz, MeO‐PhQ‐CVz, and CN‐PhQ‐CVz) are synthesized for organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). The materials form high‐quality amorphous thin films by thermal evaporation and the energy levels can be easily adjusted by the introduction of different electron‐donating and electron‐withdrawing groups on carbazoylphenylquinoline. Non‐doped deep‐blue OLEDs that use PhQ‐CVz as the emitter show bright emission (Commission Internationale de L'Éclairage (CIE) coordinates, x = 0.156, y = 0.093) with an external quantum efficiency of 2.45%. Furthermore, the material works as an excellent host material for 4,4′‐bis(9‐ethyl‐3‐carbazovinylene)‐1,1′‐biphenyl dopant to get high‐performance OLEDs with excellent deep‐blue CIE coordinates (x = 0.155, y = 0.157), high power efficiency (5.98 lm W?1), and high external quantum efficiency (5.22%).  相似文献

Novel deep‐blue‐light‐emitting diphenylamino and triphenylamino end‐capped oligofluorenes were synthesized by double palladium‐catalyzed Suzuki cross‐coupling of dibromo‐oligofluorene with the corresponding boronic acid as a key step. These oligofluorenes exhibit deep‐blue emission (λemmax = 429–432 nm), low and reversible electrochemical oxidation (highest occupied molecular orbital = 5.15–5.20 eV), high fluorescence quantum yield (ΦFL = 0.61–0.93), and good thermal properties (glass‐transition temperature, Tg = 99–195 °C and decomposition temperature, Tdec > 450 °C). Remarkably, saturated deep‐blue organic light‐emitting diodes, made from these oligofluorenes as dopant emitters, have been achieved with excellent performance and maximum efficiencies up to 2.9 cd A–1 at 2 mA cm–2 (external quantum efficiency of 4.1 %) and with Commission Internationale de l'Éclairage (x,y) coordinates of (0.152,0.08), which is very close to the National Television System Committee standard blue.  相似文献

A novel thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) molecule, PHCz2BP, is synthesized and used to construct high performance organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) in this work. PHCz2BP is not only the neat emitting layer for efficient sky‐blue OLED, with very high peak external quantum efficiency/power efficiency (EQE/PE) values of 4.0%/6.9 lm W?1, but also acts as a host to sensitize high‐luminance and high‐efficiency green, orange, and red electrophosphorescence with the universal high EQEs of >20%. More importantly, two hybrid white OLEDs based on the double‐layer emitting system of PHCz2BP:green phosphor/PHCz2BP:red phosphor are achieved. To the best of the knowledge, this is the first report for three‐color (blue–green–red) white devices that adopt a TADF blue host emitter and two phosphorescent dopants without any other additional host. Such simple emitting systems thus realized the best electroluminescent performance to date for the WOLEDs utilizing the hybrid TADF/phosphor strategy: forward‐viewing EQEs of 25.1/23.6% and PEs of 24.1/22.5 lm W?1 at the luminance of 1000 cd m?2 with the color rendering indexes of 85/87 and warm‐white Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage coordinates of (0.41, 0.46)/(0.42, 0.45), indicating its potential to be used as practical eye‐friendly solid‐state lighting in future.  相似文献

White organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) are highly efficient large‐area light sources that may play an important role in solving the global energy crisis, while also opening novel design possibilities in general lighting applications. Usually, highly efficient white OLEDs are designed by combining three phosphorescent emitters for the colors blue, green, and red. However, this procedure is not ideal as it is difficult to find sufficiently stable blue phosphorescent emitters. Here, a novel approach to meet the demanding power efficiency and device stability requirements is discussed: a triplet harvesting concept for hybrid white OLED, which combines a blue fluorophor with red and green phosphors and is capable of reaching an internal quantum efficiency of 100% if a suitable blue emitter with high‐lying triplet transition is used is introduced. Additionally, this concept paves the way towards an extremely simple white OLED design, using only a single emitter layer.  相似文献

We report a systematic comparison study of 3,5‐di(N‐carbazolyl)tetraphenylsilane (SimCP) and N,N′‐dicarbazolyl‐3,5‐benzene (mCP), which are used as the host materials for phosphorescent blue dopants in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). On the basis of photoexcitation emission spectroscopy, thermal stability analysis, photoelectron analysis, charge transport measurements, and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, we conclude that the non‐π‐conjugated meta‐substituted triphenylsilyl moiety of SimCP exerts a unique hindering effect on the molecular packing characteristics in the condensed phase. The chemical origin of the superior performance of SimCP over mCP is revealed, and is expected to be helpful for the molecular design of effective host materials for enhancing the performance of blue phosphorescent OLEDs.  相似文献
