A hybrid indirect boundary element – discrete wavenumber method is presented and applied to model the ground motion on stratified alluvial valleys under incident plane SH waves from an elastic half-space. The method is based on the single-layer integral representation for diffracted waves. Refracted waves in the horizontally stratified region can be expressed as a linear superposition of solutions for a set of discrete wavenumbers. These solutions are obtained in terms of the Thomson–Haskell propagators formalism. Boundary conditions of continuity of displacements and tractions along the common boundary between the half-space and the stratified region lead to a system of equations for the sources strengths and the coefficients of the plane wave expansion. Although the regions share the boundary, the discretization schemes are different for both sides: for the exterior region, it is based on the numerical and analytical integration of exact Green's functions for displacements and tractions whereas for the layered part, a collocation approach is used. In order to validate this approach results are compared for well-known cases studied in the literature. A homogeneous trapezoidal valley and a parabolic stratified valley were studied and excellent agreement with previous computations was found. An example is given for a stratified inclusion model of an alluvial deposit with an irregular interface with the half-space. Results are displayed in both frequency and time domains. These results show the significant influence of lateral heterogeneity and the emergence of locally generated surface waves in the seismic response of alluvial valleys.  相似文献

A closed-form solution of two-dimensional scattering of plane SH waves by a cylindrical alluvial valley of circular-arc cross-section in a half-space is presented using the wave functions expansion. The solution is reduced to solving a set of infinite linear algebraic equations using the exterior region form of Graf's addition theorem. Numerical solutions are obtained by truncation of the infinite equations and their accuracies are demonstrated by convergence of the numerical results to the exact boundary condition with the increasing of the truncation order. The present solution is compared with the existing one presented by Todorovska and Lee for the same problem and their differences are analysed. Complicated effects of the depth-to-width ratio of the alluvial valley on surface ground motion are finally illustrated.  相似文献

This paper presents an analytical solution for two-dimensional scattering and diffraction of plane P waves by circular-arc alluvial valleys with shallow saturated soil deposits. The solution is based on Biot's dynamic theory for saturated porous media, and derived by employing Fourier–Bessel series expansion technique. In this analysis, soil deposits in the circular-arc valley are modeled as saturated porous media based on Biot's dynamic theory, and the circular-arc valley is assumed to be imbedded in an infinite half-space, filled with elastic single-phase media. Numerical results from this solution show that the amplitudes of displacement at the surface of an alluvial valley are mainly relative to the angle of incidence, the dimensionless frequency of incident P wave, the degree of saturation and porosity of soil deposits, and the stiffness and Poisson's ratio of the solid skeleton of the soil deposits. Furthermore, the proposed solution is compared with the previous solution, in which the soil deposit was modeled as an elastic single-phase solid.  相似文献

This paper considers the vertical dynamic response of a disk on a saturated poroelastic half-space. Firstly the pressure-solid displacement form of the harmonic equations of motion for a poroelastic solid are developed from the form of the equations originally presented by Biot. These equations are solved by a new method. Then the mixed boundary value problem for the vertical harmonic vibration of a disk on a poroelastic half-space is studied. The two types of drainage conditions at the surface of the poroelastic half-space are considered: (a) the surface of the poroelastic half-space is assumed to be completely pervious both within and exterior to the plate; (b) The interface between the plate and the poroelastic half-space is assumed to be impervious and the exterior region is assumed to be pervious. By using the Hankel transform techniques, the paper develops the governing dual integral equations. These governing integral equations are further reduced to systems of standard Fredholm integral equations of the second kind by Abel transform.  相似文献

Walker Creek in Marin County, California is a coastal stream draining to Tomales Bay, which lies in the San Andreas Rift Zone. Its valley contains an alluvial fill with a basal gravel dated at 5000 years BP. In upstream parts of the watershed, channels are incised arroyo-like in the fill leaving the valley floor standing as a high terrace averaging 5·5 m (18 ft) high. Below this terrace is an inner terrace of historic age that stands 2·4 m (8 ft) above the streambed. The stratigraphy and morphology of this valley are seen in others nearby, and indicate that in the last half of Holocene time in this region a single episode of valley alluviation was followed by two episodes of valley cutting. The second episode of valley cutting is occurring in the present time. During the last 60 years the flow has become seasonal, the stream has incised 1·5 m (5 ft) below the inner terrace in upstream reaches, aggraded 1·2 m (4 ft) in downstream reaches, and extended its estuary. Incision upstream has begun to re-expose the bedrock valley floor and is associated with aggradation downstream that has caused the flood plain to overtop both terraces. This has decreased the stream's gradient. Using a stream that is currently effecting major changes in its valley and channel morphology, two aspects of hydraulic adjustment in fluvial systems are examined. The changes in the average slope of the longitudinal profile are small but measureable. Profile concavity has not changed measurably. The various profiles that have existed in Holocene time show that stream gradient can be, but is not necessarily, slightly adjusted during valley filling and cutting. Flow measurements at a high discharge show that the channel has begun to assume the hydraulic geometry of an ephemeral channel. Adjustments of depth, velocity, and roughness appear to be hydraulic adjustments in response to changing watershed conditions.  相似文献

This paper presents analytical solutions for computing the 3D displacements in a flat solid elastic stratum bounded by a rigid base, when it is subjected to spatially sinusoidal harmonic line loads. These functions are also used as Greens functions in a boundary element method code that simulates the seismic wave propagation in a confined or semi-confined 2D valley, avoiding the discretization of the free and rigid horizontal boundaries.The models developed are then used to simulate wave propagation within a rigid stratum and valleys with different dimensions and geometries, when struck by a spatially sinusoidal harmonic vertical line load. Simulations are performed in the frequency domain, for varying spatial wave numbers in the axial direction of the valley. Time results are obtained by means of inverse Fourier transforms, to help understand how the geometry of the valley may affect the variation of the displacement field.  相似文献

针对层状半空间中沉积谷地对斜入射瑞雷波的三维散射问题, 采用直接刚度法计算自由场波场, 以层状半空间中移动斜线均布荷载动力格林影响函数求解三维散射波场, 建立了求解该问题的间接边界元方法. 通过与已有结果的比较, 验证了该方法的正确性, 并以均匀半空间以及弹性基岩上单一土层场地中沉积谷地为例进行了计算分析. 研究结果表明: 层状半空间与均匀半空间中沉积谷地对瑞雷波的散射存在显著差别; 层状半空间中瑞雷波的振动模态对沉积附近位移幅值有着重要影响; 土层刚度和厚度等参数也对沉积附近位移幅值大小及空间分布有着显著的影响.   相似文献

Scattering and diffraction of elastic in-plane P- and SV-waves by a surface topography such as an elastic canyon at the surface of a half-space is a classical problem which has been studied by earthquake engineers and strong motion seismologists for over forty years. The case of out-of-plane SH-waves on the same elastic canyon that is semicircular in shape on the half-space surface is the first such problem that was solved by analytic closed-form solutions over forty years ago by Trifunac. The corresponding case of in-plane P- and SV-waves on the same circular canyon is a much more complicated problem because the in-plane P- and SV- scattered waves have different wave speeds and together they must have zero normal and shear stresses at the half-space surface. It is not until recently in 2014 that analytic solution for such problem is found by Lee and Liu. This paper uses their technique of defining these stress-free scattered waves, which Brandow and Lee previously used to solve the problem of the scattering and diffraction of these in-plane waves on an almost-circular surface canyon that is arbitrary in shape, to the study of the scattering and diffraction of these in-plane waves on an almost circular arbitrary-shaped alluvial valley.  相似文献

本文给出一个从电离层频高图提取F1-F2谷区信息的剖面分析方法.利用该方法分析处理了武昌站的垂测记录,揭示了我国中低纬地区上空F1-F2谷区形态的某些变化规律和地区特色.对该类谷区的形成机制进行了初步探讨,认为在光化理论中若考虑基态与亚稳态两种氧离子的不同作用,可以说明该谷区的出现和基本变化趋势.  相似文献

本文以三峡水库引水工程秦岭特长隧洞水压致裂地应力测量为例,在野外地质调查、室内超前预测分析、现场和室内测试等的基础上,对深切峡谷地区地壳浅表层地应力状态进行了系统分析,结果表明深切峡谷地区地壳浅表层分为应力降低区、应力增高区和原始应力区,原始应力区(即构造应力面)的深度大致等于地应力测点周围山体和沟谷之间的相对高差.  相似文献

Dynamic response of an alluvial valley consisting of three different types of soil was studied. In the two-dimensional model, the alluvial valley was assumed to have half-cylindrical shape. The alluvial valley contained three different types of soil with different shapes. The valley was surrounded by a half-space. All of the soil types and the half-space were assumed to be isotropic, homogeneous and linear elastic. The half-space was excited by simple harmonic SH-waves radiated from a strike-slip fault. The fault was assumed to have circular-arc shape in the mathematical model. The governing equations were solved by using wave function expansion method where boundary conditions were relatively simple. In the regions where boundary conditions were more complex, finite difference method was employed. Consequently, the wave propagation problem was solved semi-analytically. The obtained numerical results showed that surface displacement amplitudes are significantly affected by the material properties of the different soil types of the alluvial valley. It was also observed that the shapes of the soil types in the alluvial valley played a considerable role in surface displacements.  相似文献

Scattering of elastic waves by inhomogeneous and anisotropic bodies in a half space is considered. The integral equation method is formulated by using the fundamental solution of a homogeneous isotropic body in elastostatics and regarding the resulting inhomogeneous terms as equivalent body forces. Numerical examples are presented for the wave scattering by inhomogeneous and/or anisotropic alluvial valleys and for the dynamic analysis of an inhomogeneous dam. The effect of inhomogeneities and anisotropy on the dynamic behaviour of alluvial valley and dam is discussed.  相似文献

密云水库被围堰隔为东、西两个库区.由于1999年以来华北地区的连续干旱,水库蓄水量迅速下降,两库区水体交换很少,相对稳定.2001年至2002年的调研结果显示,东库区比西库区BOD5、TN、TP、Fe、浮游藻类细胞密度分别高出16.7%、40.2%、46.7%、161.1%和41.8%,TSIm显示西库区的营养程度低于东库区,主要原因是:(1)西库区水体深于东库区,自净能力相对较强.(2)东库区以氮、磷为主的植物营养物的污染大于西库区;(3)由于潮河(东库区的主要入库河流)流域数座小铁矿的污染,东库区铁含量大于西库区.东库区水体中铁的浓度在适合浮游藻类生长的范围内,对浮游藻类,特别是蓝藻(Cyanophyta)的增殖有促进作用.有效地防治密云水库水体富营养化,应在统筹规划、分步实施的基础上,把防治的重点放在潮河流域.  相似文献

为考虑扁梁柱节点内、外核心区的相互作用,对扁梁柱节点的内、外核心区进行了重新划分,认为内、外核心区有一个重叠的区域,给出了地震作用在扁梁柱节点内外核心区的分配方法,采用压杆模型和软化桁架模型,提出扁梁柱节点的设计方法。该方法可以考虑节点核心区钢纤维和扁梁中无粘结预应力对扁梁柱节点抗剪极限承载力的作用。该设计方法的可靠性得到四个钢筋混凝土扁梁柱节点试验数据的验证。  相似文献

An indirect boundary integral method to obtain the three-dimensional response of an infinitely long, layered, viscoelastic valley of arbitrary cross-section embedded in a layered viscoelastic half-space is presented. The valley is excited by homogeneous plane waves impinging at an oblique angle with respect to the axis of the valley. The method and associated computer programs are tested by comparison with available results in the limiting two-dimensional case of incidence normal to the axis of the valley. Additional comparisons with previous three-dimensional results obtained by a hybrid finite element-boundary integral method for cylindrical valleys subjected to obliquely incident waves show large differences. However, the results obtained here for an infinitely long valley appear to be in some agreement with earlier results for an elongated prolate semi-ellipsoidal valley and with results obtained by a discrete wavenumber boundary element approach. An extensive bibliography on the dynamic response of valleys is also presented.  相似文献

This paper gives an overview of Cluster observations in the high-altitude cusp region of the magnetosphere. The low and mid-altitude cusps have been extensively studied previously with a number of low-altitude satellites, but only little is known about the distant part of the magnetospheric cusps. During the spring-time, the trajectory of the Cluster fleet is well placed for dayside, high-altitude magnetosphere investigations due to its highly eccentric polar orbit. Wide coverage of the region has resulted and, depending on the magnetic dipole tilt and the solar wind conditions, the spacecraft are susceptible to encounter: the plasma mantle, the high-altitude cusp, the dayside magnetosphere (i.e. dayside plasma sheet) and the distant exterior cusp diamagnetic cavity. The spacecraft either exit into the magnetosheath through the dayside magnetopause or through the exterior cusp–magnetosheath interface. This paper is based on Cluster observations made during three high-altitude passes. These were chosen because they occurred during different solar wind conditions and different inter-spacecraft separations. In addition, the dynamic nature of the cusp allowed all the aforementioned regions to be sampled with different order, duration and characteristics. The analysis deals with observations of: (1) both spatial and temporal structures at high-altitudes in the cusp and plasma mantle, (2) signatures of possible steady reconnection, flux transfer events (FTE) and plasma transfer events (PTE), (3) intermittent cold (<100 eV) plasma acceleration associated with both plasma penetration and boundary motions, (4) energetic ions (5–40 keV) in the exterior cusp diamagnetic cavity and (5) the global structure of the exterior cusp and its direct interface with the magnetosheath. The analysis is primarily focused on ion and magnetic field measurements. By use of these recent multi-spacecraft Cluster observations we illustrate the current topics under debate pertaining to the solar wind–magnetosphere interaction, for which this region is known to be of major importance.  相似文献
